3.5 stars. Elevated hot dogs are a fun concept that I enjoy. The alligator sausage dog was good, and so was the toasted bun. The idea of etouffee as a topping was good too, but here there were problems. First, it seems more like cheesy, Cajun cream sauce than etouffee. Still works well - maybe better - than regular etouffee, so alone that's not bad. But as I ate the dog, I got occasional bites of fishy flavor, which I suspect came from the crawfish. Crawfish is expensive this year, so maybe it's related to that, but in any case it was unwelcome.

I had the Cajun Surf N' Turf...First thing's first: the alligator sausage was good! Thick, flavorful--all the workings of good gator sausage. I like mine a bit more spicy but it was still tasty. I also like that they toast the "dawg" bread. It's a toasted and buttery spin on bread that would otherwise taste like hot dog bread. Finally, I loooooove the fries! They taste freshly cut. They're thick and lightly salted. I really appreciate that they retain their fresh potato taste. However, I was very displeased with the "étouffée" sauce. It did not even remotely taste like an étouffée gravy. It was more akin to a watered cheese sauce with little flavor. Plus, the few crawfish in the sauce were bland. I honestly think this sandwich would be so much better as a simple gator "dawg" without the sauce. Something else happened after eating this that involved food not staying down. So yeah. I cannot say that I will never not try this truck's food again; however, I would likely get the gator without the sauce. The owners or employees are nice. I love their unique ticket idea!

I was surprised to see that Diva Dawg didn't have a listing. They've been serving breakfast and lunch near my work for a couple of months. They make all their own sausages for their dogs, including the veggie dog with veggie chili that I tried today. My coworker got the red bean dog with fried chicken nuggets on top! That seems to be their signature item. The veggie dog was really tasty (with a red bean base); I advise adding creole mustard for some zing.Love that they accept text message orders if you're short on time. Super friendly staff and quick turnaround.Follow them on Instagram, FB or twitter to find them around the city.

Why don't you ever have my jalapeño mayo anymore? It's enough to make a girlCry. That stuff was delicious! Anyway, moving on to my new favorite - gator sausage with crawfish deliciousness on top. While this is just a tad too spicy for my sensitive GI system, that didn't stop me from eating it two days in s row when the opportunity arose.Only 4 stars because I want the jalapeño mayo back! Pretty please?

Hits the spot! I usually see this food truck outside of Urban South. I got the pepperoni pizza dog and it was delish. It looked like they just put a melty mini pizza right on top of the dog. Nice and spicy. The bun was lovely and sweet too! It didn't even need any other condiments. The employees working were very kind. I really like the variety of unique dogs and snack choices. I know I will be taken care of whenever I see the Diva Dog Food Truck!

This is definitely a foodie gem. I've never had a Crawfish grilled cheese sandwich . It was absolutely amazing! I've never experienced an etoufee hotdog. I was referred by a colleague and was blown away. Price wise but still worth it. I would definitely eat from this food truck again.

I work in New Orleans East, which doesn't really add to the narrative, but the food options are slim, we only get 30 minutes for lunch, blah blah blah. So, when we got an email and there were flyers saying that various food trucks would be coming out this week, I was excited as Diva Dawg was listed as being one that came out to us. ALL OF THE WAY out to us! I had heard many good things about this food truck. You get in line for the window, look at the menu and order. They do have a menu board, and you can pay with a card by square. You get a laminated slip of paper that has a famous persons name on it as your order placer instead of a number or them asking for your name. The first day, I got Whitney Houston (And I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I will love Diva Dawg), the second day I got Betty White (as Rose would say: My mother always used to say: "The older you get, the better you get, unless you're a banana." Which is probably applicable here). So that is cute. You then move to the side to let other people order. The first visit, I got the fries with crawfish etouffe on top. These are not your skinny fries. These seem to be hand cut potato wedges. The etouffee was not canned, it was fresh, homemade, very rich and flavorful. Perfection in a clamshell. The second time, I got the surf and turf, which is an alligator dog with crawfish etouffe on top. Oh. My. Gosh. Delicious! And neither item talked back to me.All of my coworkers who went to this truck were amazed. The buffalo wings were another hit, as were the veggie dogs, and there are quite a few options. You can find out where they are going to be by following them on the facebook at https://www.facebook.com/DivaDawgTruck which is just too cool. The staff is friendly, the interior of the truck seems to be clean from what I can see. This is just too awesome. All of their hot dogs are made in house by their own crew. The etouffe was just delightful.

If you are looking for a decent gourmet dog Diva Dawg offers and nice variety of options and even have daily specials. I choose their daily special called the gumbo dawg. It's was pretty good and had a good taste and balance for a food truck.

Ordered the Cajun surf and turf dog with some veggie chili fries. Instead I was given the etouffee fries even though I was the only customer in line. And honestly their etouffee deserves one star.Mealy crawfish with a watered down Velveeta cheese sauce. Seriously?! It is ridiculous to serve anything called etouffee in New Orleans that's freaking cheese sauce. Then to add insult to injury, everything was one tone. They had blanched the crawfish in a salt bath and added tons of salt to their Velveeta cheese. The fries were also drenched in seasoned salt. The only reason why they are getting two stars is because they used a good brioche hot dog bun as well as having a juicy and flavorful alligator sausage. You definitely don't need any cheese sauce with two crawfish to go with that.
