The service was amazing! The food was pretty good too. I got the strip steak with creole butter and it was fantastic. My wife enjoyed the duck breast, but you come here for steak so get the steak. Rookie mistake on her part.Everything we ate was good and the drinks were fine too. We are close by so we will be back for sure.

My birthday is next week and we were looking to have a "nice" dinner while in town. During my "pre-trip" homework, I kept coming back to Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse. I asked our local guide during a food and drink stroll & he too recommended Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse. Reservations were easy to make through the website. We arrived a few minutes ahead of the reservation. We were warmly welcomed and told our table was would be ready momentarily. A few minutes later, we were seated. I checked "main dining" as the seating but we were seated in a side room. No biggie, it was nice in there with a group of 8-10 also seated in the room. The table seemed a little crowded with the menus, wine & water glasses, and cutlery. It did seem like there were table extensions folded under the table, but they were not being used. Our waiter was Marquis. He was nice, had a good attitude and sense of humor. We started with Crab Cakes & a Caesar salad for me. The ladies raved about the Crab Cake. No fluff there, all crab meat. I asked for no anchovies on the salad and they came with it. No biggie, it's only 2-3 and easy to remove. The dressing was a little lacking but Marquis was quick to bring me more. For entrees, we had a small filet, large filet & seared duck breast. My large filet was cooked perfectly, the medium I requested. My wife's small filet was unfortunately, over cooked. She requested medium but it was definitely closer to medium-well. The side of creamy mac & cheese was decent, not great. It wasn't as creamy as anticipated, I believe the noodles soaked up a bit of the cream sauce. All in all, it was a good meal. It didn't hit the marks due to the price, but it wasn't a bad meal.

Our server was higher than a kite. She was obnoxious, giggling, loud, couldn't stand or pour drinks. She was wearing stretchy pants. A few other servers were wearing jeans. This was not a high class place. This was our least favorite meal we ate on a 10 day trip. We all wished we had went anywhere else!DO NOT RECOMMEND

This a very difficult review for such a prestigious restaurant. I want to start off by saying the decor, ambiance and service is second to none. Now to the food, all the appetizers ordered were on point and well worth the price as well as the freshly baked bread to start with. Now to the 14oz Strip ordered rare. As you can see by my photo, it appears dry and badly charred and it was as well as tough and luke warm. Very disappointing given the price and establishment. Not pictured was the Mac & Cheese and Creamed Spinach, both very worth a visit. Now let's return to ambiance. Throughout our meal the party of four (three women and one man) seated directly behind us, were entirely too loud and very disrespectful to all others seated nearby. They did not need to be in such an elegant restaurant. The conversation reminded a number of veterans, including myself of sitting on the mess deck of a ship or chow hall! Loud and a number of F Bombs. They over heard us discussing this issue towards the end of our meal and decided to engage us my starting to call us names and to be quiet. Unfortunately we retuned with a back and forth. (Sorry, retired combat veteran's just don't like to be spoken to by younger people who start by calling you old man). At this point, other surrounding abruptly got up and left. At this point management arrived sort it out and we paid our bill. As we left the Manager approached us and invited us to the bar for a drink on the house for the inconvenience. We declined and left. Apparently a number of guests, had spoke to him about the incident and identified the antagonist as the other table and we were defending ourselves. Thank you to manage and hopefully staff will make a note of the people and refuse service.

Booked Dickie Brennan's for a Saturday night on recommendation by a friend. Our group was seated in a room to the left down the steps. Even though we were in a room full of people the rooms acoustics made it feel like were were in a private room. Our server was slow, but friendly. He got side track and spent too much time yacking to every table he had, but made great recommendations. The menu is pretty simple with several New Orleans specialties, but for the most part it's a steak house! My wife and I spit the Seared Crab Cake - Louisiana jumbo lump crabmeat, white ravigote, roasted corn purée. You're not getting any filler or crap with this crabmeat. It was all fresh local jumbo lump crabmeat that went well with the lightly acidic ravigote sauce. The thicker purée helped bind the meat together. Great start to the meal. I ordered the Prime Rib Eye and my wife the Petite Filet. We added Au Gratin - creamy layered potatoes, fresh thyme, Gruyère & sharp cheddar gratinee and sautéed mushrooms. Everyone's food came out at the same time except for mine. Our bumbling server said I got you, 30 seconds a half a dozen times. When my steak finally arrived (5-7 minutes later), compared to my friend who got the same cut of steak, mine had a lot of fat. My wife enjoyed her Petite Filet and the sides were ridiculously good. Drink wise I would recommend the Sazerac. They'll give you some nice whiskey/bourbon choices for it. I believe I went Buffalo Trace. Side note - two friends in the group ordered the Chateaubriand (20oz. tenderloin) and reported it to be a great meal to split if your going to splurge. They enjoyed the three house made sauces that came along with it and could barely finish everything on the serving plate.Overall, it was a great relaxing night with friends over a good meal. Took a star off for our server. I'm sorry, but when you go a "premier" steakhouse food everyone's food should come out on time and the server should be on point. Especially for the prices they charged!

Dickie's never disappoints. We walk in and ask to be seated in the bar area and get quickly seated by the hostess at a table of our choice. We order dinner cocktails and later wine from the wine list - so many to choose from. Bar service was excellent and so welcoming. Took our time and ordered the crab cake for an appetizer - nothing but crab meat no filler. Then ordered the Petit filet and creamed spinach for the table to share. Perfect choice for the evening. Steaks were cooked to perfection and just enough for a great dinner paired with a glass of belle glos Pinot Noir. Great dining experience. Food and service never fails. Definetly a staple in Nola.

This is great restaurant with wonderful food and hard working servers!!! The food was great and Reba, our server, was fantastic!!! Ask for her if you decide to go! However the management and overall processes are woefully inadequate!! There are 5 managers standing around doing NOTHING!!! Tables weren't cleared and everything took far too much time to unfold. Dinner was over 3 hours for NO reason at all. They are very well staffed, so that is not an excuse, they are simply TERRIBLY MANAGED!!! After complaining to one of them I was politely asked what was wrong on my way out by an employee trying to make things right and the manager refused to speak to me!! Extremely disappointed by an iconic New Orleans restaurant!!! I understand it is carnival season and things are hectic but the mangers should be professionals and do their job...not stand around watching the circus happen and their servers struggle!!!

Came here while in town for the Eagles game: definitely wasn't dressed for a steakhouse but the waiters were nothing but welcoming. Sat in the bar area and it was cozy but not stuffyWe split the bbq shrimp appetizer. I'm normally not a fan of head on shrimp but they were out of this world, and the grits cake was both creamy and crispy at the same timeWe both got steaks: they were a little over but I don't mind that, and split the mashed potatoes which were good. Overall a good experience!!

Our dinner was amazing. We chose to eat at the bar. The service provided by Dina and Ana was top notch. The food was terrific. We enjoyed the gumbo, baked Brie (amazing!), and filets. Everything was cooked very well. Our sides were sautéed mushrooms and roasted Brussel sprouts. I encourage you to try this place.
