Obsessed. Veggie hot pot. Spicy. She's real spicy, but without heat it's too plain for me. I love to add additional lotus, bok choi and ramen. It'sa whole ordeal to cook at table, but so delicious. And so much food, definitely could share with friend or two. I recommend getting some apps too. My fave is the veggie bao- two heavenly soft and fluffy bao filled with minced veggies. It's tucked in tiny spot in French Quarter along one of the cutest little pedestrian ways. If the weather permits, it is fun to sit outside and people watch. The servers are quick and kind. This is one of my fave spots in the 1/4. They do lunch specials too!

Dian Xin remains a solid choice for great food, especially before a night out on Bourbon Street. The dishes came out fast, tasted DELICIOUS, and the portions were generous--definitely easy to share while still leaving full and satisfied. Quaint, homey, and quiet enough to hear the people you're dining with. That said, I wish the service matched the quality of the food. Interactions were very lukewarm throughout the experience. And every time I thanked the staff for something, I was met with silence, which made the whole experience feel a little cold. My partner was dining there for the first time (I am not local to New Orleans anymore and we were visiting on Valentine's Day), and I was hoping for a warmer experience. I don't remember this being an issue in the past, so maybe it was just an off night.Still, the food was as lovely as ever, and that alone is why I might be willing to return. The Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings, sauteed broccoli, and salt and pepper squid were STARS. Just hoping for a little more hospitality in the future.

This review is for the 2 consecutive nights we had dinner at Dian Xin. Location: conveniently located near our hotel so walking for our appetites was goodFood: everything was delicious and not too greasy. The first night we finished all our food except for my mom's soup because she ate all the other food. Tonight we had leftovers bc we ordered too much. Price: is very reasonable for the amount of food served. Staff: friendly and attentive Venue: it has simple decor, the restaurant itself is clean. One con, when my mom and sis went to the restroom the night of 11/20/24, they said the restroom they went to was dirty. 11/21/24, they tried the other restroom and they said it was much cleaner. All in all, I recommend this place. Enjoy.

If you're in town, COME HERE. The service and ambiance may not be the best, but you'll be dreaming of the food for weeks to come. - Wonton with Spicy Sauce: the STAR of the menu. I wish I knew what was inside this sauce because it was the perfect amount of spice, sweetness, and umami. I tried to recreate it at home, and couldn't quite capture the deliciousness that this was. - Shrimp Har Gow: standard dim sum dish, always a must have in my opinion. -Xiao Long Bao Dumplings: another standard dim sum dish; held up to expectations. The wrappers didn't tear as easily as other XLB I've had across restaurants. Don't forget to top a few of them with chili oil! - Steamed Veggie Bao: a skippable dish - it wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything to write home about either- Basil Popcorn Chicken: perfectly crispy, super hot, and well seasoned. I ordered this at the recommendation of a coworker and was not let down. While I wish it came with a sauce (and I dipped it into the wonton sauce), it is still a strong dish on its own. Is this restaurant super inexpensive? No. Is it delicious? Absolutely. If I am ever back in NOLA, I will be coming back to Dian Xin.

This place is quite small and popular so it can get quite crowded. However my family of four came on a Friday night and were seated within ten minutes. While the place seems really authentic, there are options that also appeal to the American palette. Our server seemed pretty distressed as it seemed he was the only one for the whole restaurant. We got the Crabmeat and crawfish Soup Dumplings which were delicious. I loved seeing the crawfish too like blending of culture. The garlic veggies were also delicious, my favorite part was the taro. The Veggie Baos were only ok and the Salt and Pepper Squid didn't blow me away either.

The cucumber salad was refreshing and very crispy. Crab rangoons were soft gooey on the inside with a crispy exterior. Egg rolls were below average in my opinion meat was dry and falling out of the egg roll. The shumai was lacking flavor, but good texture, and needs the sauce. The wonton soup was good nothing special about it, but if you want something soupy order this. The stir fry noodle was very good order with extra XO sauce and it has a very shrimpy taste and noodles are cooked perfectly. The soup dumplings were really good, great flavor and texture no complaints use chili oil if you like spice. Pork bao buns were amazing delicious filling and great bao.All around amazing. Koi pond when you walk in. It's a little tight, but it's a restaurant in New Orleans not easy to get bigger than that. Very good service as well.

We definitely stumbled upon this little gem, we didn't get many pictures. But definitely a place worth exploring the Hot Pot! We started with shumai & pork bao 5/10 overall since I've had better at Chinatown SF. Maybe skip the appy and go for the entree because it is friggin' amazing... we ordered the spicy beef ribs hot pot, add ramen, quail eggs with side of rice- excellent flavor and very delicious 10/10. My husband ordered the Mongolian Beef and it was 10/10 beef very tender, taste and savory, the onions are crunchy/el dente to perfection especially eating it with the steam rice. Service was great, restaurant is a little small but we don't mind it! Overall experience is great. Definitely will come back for that Mongolian Beef(if I ever visit Nola soon)

Awesome spot for locals and tourists alike in the Quarter. Small and cozy, food comes out hot and quick and it is DELICIOUS! Every single bite was fantastic. Our server was young but she was so great. Knew everything on the menu and made some great recommendations.
