A wonderful location to enjoy delicious German food and German beer served in a beautiful building honoring German heritage and culture. I enjoyed sitting outside enjoying a beer.

I appreciate how this little place is big on community! We have come to enjoy their events each year.We enjoy coming here for Oktoberfest in the Fall for fun, food, dancing, etc. It is always a good time. We even went when they were temporarily moved to Kenner but we are happy that they are back locally. The ChristKindlMarkt is a wonderful winter time fest. We like to get local Christmas gifts, sweet treats, and honey. We always find something unique! You can't go wrong when parking is free and entrance is free.

3rd review and 3rd location for the haus...The DH new permanent home is gorgeous. What a beautiful building that is making the most of the space along Bayou St. John. The night I went (to hear an art lecture by a friend) the bar was open, credit only, but there wasn't any food. The hall where the lecture was had great acoustics and was spacious with good equipment. The bar area is bright (for a bar) and the servers were great and friendly. Love that there are chairs out front to watch the bayou and picnic tables out back to enjoy your beverage out in nature. There are a lot of various things happening on their calendar from lectures to viewing parties to trivia.

Good, basic German food. Brats and beer get my attention anytime, but Warsteiner on tap is pure magic! The setting is a contemporary German architecture along the scenic and historic Bayou St. John. This place has events such as German festivals, reunions, concerts. It is a recent manifestation supporting German culture in New Orleans. Off the beaten tourist path so you'll want to take a taxi or rideshare unless you are the adventurous sort. If you want a convivial beer with friends this is your spot. If you want a bachanalian nether you may be shown the door.

We went for Oktoberfest and had an absolute blast!! It was Friday night weekend 2. Although it was busy we never needed to wait in a long line to get in, food or beer. Tip: Either bring your own Stein or make your first stop the Souvenir shop to buy one. Full liter refills of a yummy selection of German Beer are 15.00 - not too bad considering the quality your getting. Sausage on a stick was delicious. I also ordered Bratz and kraut but unfortunately dropped the plate before getting to taste in, I was so sad about that. Other than that great drinks, food and fun music. I can't wait to go back next year.

Authentic German Biergarten, restaurant, social club and event center on the banks of Bayou St. John. Deutsches Haus came highly recommended by a fellow Elite Yelper, who is a member of the club. Saturday of Christkindl Markt seemed like the perfect time to check it out. Had no problem finding the beautiful facility, nestled between Bayou St. John and Saint Louis Number One Cemetery. Plenty of parking in their private lot or along the bank of the bayou. Walked into the Christkindl Markt area, met some nice vendors and patrons, and found a few gifts for ourselves and others. We then proceeded around the back of the building where a band was playing Christmas music, alongside a few food kiosks. Inside was a beautiful bar with a great selection of German beers and a few more market vendors in the main event center. We were so impressed that we picked up a membership application. This looks like the kind of organization I'd like to be a part of, if they'd have me. Prost !!!

Tried going to October Fest last Friday 10.7.22It was the worst---No Parking anywhere--they have really out grown that locationAs a result--- we left the area---not going back for that Event againShuttling event goers would be a great option--Maybe from LSU DentistryEvent Volunteer's should not hold parking spots for other Staff, right in front of the Hause

$20 parking for Jazz Fest. Staff was friendly and helpful. They were offering food, beer and clean restrooms inside. I will definitely remember this for future Jazz Fests. Thanks!

I visited Deutsches Haus when my Rotary Club was looking for a new location to hold its evening meetings. From the outside in this is a gorgeous building. It definitely doesn't read bar at all it reads high end community center which I found out, it really what it is. They hold some great events here including St. Baldrick's fundraising event.Given the features, I can see why someone would want to hold an event here. The large hall and the bar area get great light. I was told in addition to the great hall there are other smaller meeting rooms. Another pro for this location is the ample parking.Unfortunately, the bar doesn't hold that many people, so if you go there just on any old day and it is busy, you may end up sitting at some not as pretty standard edition conference tables and chairs. So again mediocre bar, pretty sweet event space. Other meeting attendees were impressed in the brews available. I wasn't drinking but I did have a lovely sausage link with delish mustard. If I am ever fancy enough to need to host an event for 100 or so of my closest friends, they will be top of my list.

I love that Deutsches Haus has returned to Orleans Parish. Tucked along Bayou St. John the new building recently opened to the public. The space is a great hall featuring a nice bar area, an outdoor area and a great parking lot in back. The friendly staff at the bar will help you learn more about their beer selections and there is a well stocked bar that includes a few wines. The night we went they had the game on in the great hall, beer was flowing (the house beer is a nice ale brewed for them by Urban South), warm pretzels, brats etc. we're also available for purchase. They will be offering language classes etc to help the public learn more about the German culture. Stop by and support this New Orleans institution.
