Dennis Automotive2220 Airline Drive, Kenner, LA 70062Clark W. DennisI have repair insurance on my 2010 Ford pickup. It came with the purchase. The truck leaked power steering fluid during a recent trip, and after calling around to the area repair centers who are listed as accepting this insurance, I took it to Dennis Automotive on Airline Drive in Kenner. They told me there would be a 2-day wait for the diagnostic and then the repair. I left the truck parked in a slot off the street at the front of their building and went into the office with the insurance paperwork. Two days later, I returned to the facility to inquire - seeing the truck still parked exactly where I left it, I had my doubts. I was right; they reported that nothing had been done as yet. 2 days later, same thing. And 2 days later, same thing. No, not a phone call - an office visits each time. I never heard from Dennis Automotive unless I visited their offices. At every conversation, on the phone or in person, Clark Dennis kept pointing out how very busy they were with their CarMax service agreement and had no time to work on my vehicle. All said without any apology nor acknowledgement of their delaysAfter a full 7 days of nothing being done, I drove my rental to their garage, and met with Mr. Dennis, the owner, Mark, the manager, all 4 mechanics who were in the office, plus the clerk, and no one reported any work being done. They could not even find their own paperwork on my truck until the lady who did the office administration said, "It's on the bottom of the pile." (Literally!) I knew then exactly how important my vehicle was to them. So, Dennis, confirming that no work had been done, gave me the truck key himself, and I drove home. On arrival at home, Dennis was on the phone to me demanding that I return - I replied no. He then said, "We have money in your truck." I replied with another simple, "No". He responded in a threatening manner, "Oh, so you are going to be a tough guy huh?" (Yes this 75+ year old 5'9" 175 lb. guy is going to be a "tough guy"!) I hung up.Later that day, after they were closed, I returned to pick up my rental car, which had now cost me $500! And to my amazement, 2 tires had been deflated. The rental had been disabled! What a classy bunch! They kept my truck for 7 days, and never diagnosed the problem. I visited their office 3 times to try to encourage a diagnosis - the diagnosis required by the insurance! It was never provided. No one knew that work had been done on my truck. I did not steal the key - they gave it to me. And then Dennis treated me like it was my doing - my fault - that he did not know that they had indeed worked on the truck - that's 6 people plus the clerk, and no one had any idea, until after I had left. And then they vandalized my rental. Stay away!

My daughter is away in Louisiana at school at Loyola New Orleans. Her car broke down and it is hard enough finding a good honest mechanic at home, yet alone thousands of miles away! I called a mechanic with great reviews but they did not work on BMW/MINI and referred me to Dennis Automotive. I am very grateful for that recommendation. They took excellent care of my daughter and her car. Her car is running like a champ and her Dad is a happy Camper. Thank you for easing my worries. Car repair can be a tough experience. Not at Dennis Automotive! Forever grateful!

I have been using Dennis automotive for sometime now. And they have always done great work. Great people, super friendly and helpful. Mark is always willing to explain things thoroughly and has always been true to his word. I just picked up my current vehicle from the shop and they actually did a few more things (spark plugs, cleaning the fuel injectors etc.) then I was planning on getting done and they were still more reasonable than I was expecting. They always call and make sure I'm OK with what they are going to do before doing it.I will definitely be using them again when/if I need any sort of automotive work done.

When you car suddenly starts shifting roughly, you think of the worst case. You also think you could get ripped off. Dennis automotive proved that there are great honest transmission specialists in the New Orleans area. They knew I was prepared to pay thousands, and the bill came in at less then $600. They solved all my problems, kept me in the loop, completely explained the issues and actions during the process. I will recommend everyone use Dennis Automotive for their transmission issues. I feel very confident that they are honest and work to communicate the issues clearly to the customer!

Dennis' has been our mechanic for quite some time. They have excellent customer service & our honest. I brought my Honda to the dealership for an oil change only to be given a $2000 estimate on maintenance. I brought my car to Dennis (I was only going to Honda because of my warranty) & they said nothing was wrong with my car. They have been servicing our cars for over 15 years & this business its hard to find someone trustworthy. Try them out. You won't be disappointed. It is a family owned business which makes it great!

I was towed here by AAA when my car broke down and am from out of town. The service I received was phenomenal and incredibly thorough. Mark was very kind in explaining the work he did on my vehicle and the other checks he did. I never felt like I was being upsold on anything and he made what was a pretty stressful process of not knowing what happened to my car reasonably smooth. Unfortunately I live too far away to come back regularly, but I would definitely recommend it to locals!

Beware!!! I paid thousands for mechanical repairs and parts only to have physical damage to my car upon pick up. I went with Dennis after thoroughly reviewing my options. I was deciding between the Volvo dealership and Dennis to do engine work on my car. Dennis cost nearly almost as much as the dealership, but they were recommended to me by someone who was a family friend of them. We spoke to them thoroughly about the cost and work to be done, and ultimately went with them. All was going well it seemed until we picked the car up. My boyfriend found a dent and a hole in the front bumper when he went to get the car! The car was physically in pristine shape when we dropped it off, and was just getting mechanical work done. We pointed out the damage to them as soon as we saw it at pick up, and they refused to accept responsibility. We have before pictures of when it arrived at Dennis so can prove this damage was not there, and thus it happened in their care. They still refuse to fix or pay for the damage caused in their care. This is appalling!!! I'm out nearly $1,000 to fix the damage they caused on top of the $6k I paid to for parts and repair. Unprofessional and horrible experience! Please beware of this company. Look elsewhere for a mechanic. Denis is overpriced, unrealiable and unprofessional!
