We had two rooms at the Herman House extension. Room 236 which had a balcony and plenty of space. It looked like the picture on line. It was a little noisy due to having the balcony over the street but it was great for people watching. Room was cool and clean. My companion loved it, especially the balcony. One problem was the noise due to the street people and trash collection at 3am. I would still recommend and stay there again. Room 240 was a different story. It looked like the picture on line but it was small. No balcony. Still somewhat noisy due to the trash pick up. The writing desk in the room looked like someone had sat on it and broke it. The chair needed to be reupholstered. The top side was great but the bottom needed to be reenforced. Great view of the clean courtyard out side my door, but the door had cracks between it and the frame. It was still secure The bathroom cabinet was missing a door, they needed to replace it. The room itself was clean. The bed was clean. If you wanted clean sheets each day, that was available. Clean bathroom with an over sized jacuzzi tube. It was difficult to get in and out. Still it was clean. Would I want this room again - no. But for the price it was reasonable. One problem with the whole extension they need to immediately take care of is the termites. I saw two in my room closet. One last thing while they do have parking on the property and the attendant took great care of my Jeep, the service was $45 a night. Remember to tip the car attendant! He was worth it.

MOLD! they don't even try to hide it either. if you're staying on the 2nd floor look at the ceiling tiles in the hall on the way to your room. it was right above our room door. Ny was really sweet to us & suggested a nice restaurant but it seemed like she might get a lot of complaints about the mold since she didn't seem surprised at all & didn't apologize, just gave us a new room with no hesitation. the 2nd room we got wasn't better. we lost the view & balcony we had of dauphine street bc of the mold situation & the smell was better in the 2nd room but our "view" was an old brick wall.the brown headboards were filthy. they had lots of stains & spots on them it was quite disgusting to lay underneath. i think unless you're staying on the other side in the carriage house, it's not worth it.

We stayed at your hotel for 7 nights, (26 June - 3 rd July), halfway to the stay, the ceiling of room 227 started leaking with water & lots of it. We literally had to empty the trashcan to catch the streaming water. We went down inform front desk, which gave us Room 225 to stay. So, we had to move everything to the next room, we found cockroaches, had killed a few, however, there must be a nest as there's droppings in the towel shelf... the droppings were everywhere. We had to move once & wasn't eager to move again. During this time, we had no supervisors or managers to apologize for the inconvenience caused from Room 227 or checking in to see how we were doing? In Room 225, encountered cockroaches again, my husband went down to inform front desk who offered another change of room & a free bottle of water! Seriously!!!Since it was our last night, we declined the change of room... Again, no one approached to apologize for the inconvenience caused. When we were picking up UBER eats from the hotel, the security guard was sitting in the chair snoring away. The optic of this hotel is quite disappointing. Morning beverage only has coffee, no tea option, ask for a tea bag to find that was the last tea gag the hotel has!Very inconsistent service, they had offered coffee & hot water... which I needed for medical purposes... Sometimes the hot water dispenser is not there with the coffee. Some of the staff at the hotel reception are not friendly, not even a greeting when you walked into the front door.Staff appears nonchalant, busy chatting with the staff working in the hotel instead of greeting the guests.

Well the room was like going back in time. It was quiet. French motif with old bricks. It's actually an old bordello. The double charged me. I prepaid and then they charged my credit card at check out. It took me two weeks to get it back

Nice room. No mini fridge but it did have a coffee maker tho. They did not place more coffee for us the next day so we only had coffee one day. We did go for one of the cheaper rooms tho. It was at a great location and didn't disappoint.

This was our second time staying here, We had a room before that was larger and had a little balcony. This time a smaller room, no balcony, smaller fridge and many issues with the room. Very disappointed. Shower curtain rod was hanging loose, we asked them to come and fix it, they did. The shower curtain had a large stain on it, the plug in the bathroom was broken (GFI button was actually cracked and missing parts). There were holes in the sheets, the lamp shade was cracked and yellow, carpet stained, shower/tub clogged so you stood in water while taking a shower. I wish I had taken a picture of the room before we unpacked and made a mess. Just outdated and required a remodel or a refresh at least. There was a real place to put your clothes, besides the closet. We stayed 4 days, it was sort of awkward. We decided to stay again because the staff was great last time and the location was good, plus we got a good rate. Not really worth it when there were so many issues. This is not a staff issue, they were great again (Jessica and Donika were awesome, I can't remember the name of the lady at the desk at night (very nice) or the name of the guy who helped us with our bags in the garage, he was also very nice). The owners of this property need to work on upgrading this dated place that shows lots of wear and tear. The last 4 photos are from our most recent visit.

We had a great time. Perfect location. May Baileys bar is right downstairs. The rooms we're comfortable. The pool was heated & had the sun in it just when we needed it in October

Hotel was nice enough, location was great . The noise from the city was unbearable at night . Loud music, ridiculously loud garbage trucks, sirens, made for a hard night to sleep. Get place away from Burbon St next time.

We stayed here years ago so of course we returned. At first we had a standard room but it was not a good one. Very small with wall in bath coming off and the patio shutter doors very old. The metal locks were not secure and it looked like someone had chiseled around latch.I went to desk to be upgraded to a better room. We were too tired to look for another place since it was already evening. We chose to move to cottages for a higher price, for sure.It was really nice! This is the only option! Little scary since door opens to outside.Shower was wonderful and big. 2 sinks , ligh came on automatic in restroom.Price wise , other options in area. The street it's on is great , so close. Just be sure and be in by dark or walk really fast.

It's a bit rundown and could use a good deep clean but that's to be expected in the French Quarter. Parking was convenient on site. Location was perfect and wife loved the charm of the place. Was decently clean and bug free. The beds were comfy. Bring your own pillows. Will definitely return.
