The cashier was so nice and made great conversation about the jewelry purchased with a wonderful back story on the artist. The necklace was beautiful and not too pricey for its uniqueness. This is a must see shop so many interesting items and art.

Dark Matter Oddities and Artifacts is a one-of-a-kind shop filled with unique treasures at incredible value! I recently purchased a beautifully preserved coyote skull and a goose egg displayed on an elegant gold pedestal as a Christmas gift for my daughter. Both pieces are not only rare and fascinating but also reasonably priced for the quality and craftsmanship. You truly get something special without breaking the bank. The shop itself is like stepping into a world of curiosity and wonder, with so many items to discover. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, happy to share details about the origins and stories of the pieces. It made the experience even more enjoyable and memorable. If you're searching for rare, meaningful gifts or distinctive decor, Dark Matter Oddities and Artifacts offers unbeatable value for such extraordinary finds. I'm already planning my next visit to see what other treasures I can uncover!

I fell in love with this shop during my visit to New Orleans. It is everything a dark heart would dream of. It has cool collectibles, candles, incense, sage bundles, taxidermy items that are ethically sourced, lots of art from local artists, and a lot more. It's a small but beautifully curated shop. I spoke with the owner briefly and complimented her on her unique and amazing shop. If you're into dark, witchy, gothic, unusual and unique items, this is the shop for you. I respectfully did not take any photos as the sign inside the store says not to. It's definitely a feast for the eyes!

Such a cool and odd shop in a city of oddities! In talking with the owner, I was shocked to find out this is the only store of its kind in the city! It has taxidermy art, incense, strange and beautiful jermerly and trinkets! I highly recommend you make a stop in here if you can! It's beautiful! They dont let you take pictures of the art (go on their insta to see all the new pieces) but it's worth a stop in! I bought the Caribbean Teakwood incense and it smells GLORIOUS!!

I used to watch a tv show with a similar name so we had to check it out. Very similar concept, lots of cool things to see and purchase. The owner of the business doesn't allow photos to be taken except the one i'm posting. Lots of cool stuff to look at, real taxidermy to things in between real and fanciful. We would not hesitate to return, they're always displaying new things.

This place is a MUST if you love art and oddities. They have beautiful things to peruse and purchase. I found too many things that I would love to purchase in the store. There were lovely framed bugs and butterflies.. orbs with preserved octopus and other creatures, pins, stickers, taxidermy, sculptures.. etc. It was like a museum in there. I wanted to take so many pictures but no photos allowed. They do have an insta page that you can look at though! If you're in NOLA.. check it out. It's awesome!

Loved this little gem of an oddities store -- they do traffic control at the door, it's a very small store so please don't be impatient and ride with anyone working the door. I bought an amazing ring made of a cat vertebrate and moon stone.
