I'm so happy to be out of here. The lack of communication is insane, the fact they are still in business is mind boggling,The owner is money hungry and it's only a business to her. I should have listened to all of the moms I spoke with before I put my daughter in this school. I was definitely warned multiple times to avoid this school. It's not a welcoming environment, it's cold, no communication and you can't watch or see your babies for the hour they are dancing. It's just for money, I do NOT recommend

I am a New Orleans transplant and had been researching dance schools for my 5 year old. Dancer's Pointe came highly recommended to me. I studied classic ballet, tap, and modern dance from the age of 3 until college on a non-professional level. My experience with Dancer's Pointe has been one of the worst I have ever experienced of any organization, in life, in general. One of my biggest qualms is their lack of communication. They send out monthly newsletters, which constantly lack very important details- details, which you either have to ask in person (because they do not respond to phone or email) or because you're well seasoned and have learned the drill by fumbling in the dark for too long and just know better next year. The owner and administrator seem scattered, stressed, incredibly unfriendly, harsh, and intensely focused on money at all times. Example- I went to pick up recital tickets after the rehearsal at the studio (bc I was already there) and was told that I needed to pay for the recital before picking up my tickets. I was not notified of this need to pay early, of course, and payment wasn't actually due until 6 days later. I didn't have a checkbook with me because I was unaware of this need to pay on the spot and so, I offered to pay through Venmo. (Keep in mind, this was not for a large sum; it was for only for $60!)The administrator left her office as I walked away and chased me down the hall, yelling at me, to make sure that I had sent the Venmo right then, which I had. The entire experience has just left me to feel really gross and dirty. So, I recently watched my daughter's dress rehearsal and was incredibly underwhelmed for the amount of money I have paid over the past year. I'm not sure if she has even learned the basic 5 positions in ballet, nor a simple shuffle, ball, change for tap. The performances for all of the classes were pretty underwhelming overall. The entire experience felt very frou-frou, very country bumpkin- Definitely not cultured, classic, creative, ...or worth it, ect. I'm happy to pay whatever it costs for my daughter to have a good experience and education, however, this was definitely not money well spent. Just my two cents!

Do not waste your time or money here. The classes are overcrowded, and the communication is awful. They love to tack on fees for everything, and, if you don't push back or ask for proof, they will rip you off. The teachers are careless when it comes to watching the children, as well as teaching technique. The lack of teaching shows in the revue- very sloppy.
