Really great little dance studio tucked away on Calhoun. I've only been for belly dance classes, and they had such a welcoming & supportive atmosphere!

We brought a group of 10 for a bachelorette party and we had a blast! Krystine was the best. She made our experience comfortable and so fun. We would highly recommend for birthdays and bachelorette parties.

This was such a fun experience! My friends and I are from all over the country, but the bride and groom decided to get married in NOLA. Two days prior to the wedding, a few of us decided to get together and have a fun pole dancing class. First of all, when I contacted Kryss a couple months in advanced, she was super responsive and made reserving the day and time via email extremely easy. The studio is cute, clean and she was very descriptive on how to find it and where to park. Most of us had never done a pole dancing class before, but she was really fun and made sure everyone was comfortable and safe. It was a great work out (I was sore for days after) but the choreography wasn't too intimidating. She took lots of pics and videos of us for posterity. I would highly recommend contacting Crescent Lotus if you are in the area for a bachelorette party or a girls trip, and just want a fun, unique event.

This was my first class and it was amazing. The instructor was so nice and energetic. I will definitely take some more pole classes. Can't wait to come back. I felt sexy and got a great workout.

this was one of the highlights of a bachelorette trip to Nola, and I happened upon this place through yelp! so yay! We did the pole'esque class which mixes some burlesque with some pole so we could try them both. We brought boas and I highly recommend bringing some with you! the group of girls you go with will pretty much dictate your experience, just be open to it and have fun! only thing I'd say is that it took a little bit to really get into it, we stood around and bounced our hips for a bit too long between new moves, but like i said, it's what you make of it!

This review is for Alexis Kyman's pop-up yoga classes that started today at Crescent Lotus. For those of you who don't know, Alexis was a popular teacher at Life Yoga on Magazine Street before moving out on her own.The originator of "funky flow" (as far as I know), Alexis' classes offer a vigorous Vinyasa class (*at your level* as they are open to all levels) to hip hop/R&B and dancey pop music. Yes, this goes outside the "yoga box," so if you're used to traditional citar/chanting and a soft spoken teacher it may be jarring at first. Alexis teaches the class in a spirited way with a unique voice and presentation. It really gears you up to get going and flow, flow, flow your heart out and I love it. Besides all of this, classes are the lowest priced you'll find in the city, at only $5 a class. The room is large and mirrored, the floor is wood (it's meant for dancers, after all) and at a comfortable temperature.I mention all of this because I've realized that this is rather important to me. Don't get me wrong. I like to sweat, but I like to sweat because I'm generating my own sweat, not due to a room being 90 degrees (or if you practice Bikram, well over 100 degrees). Yesterday, I took a class at Life, who has some of my favorite teachers in the city, that had me a little less than blissful by the end of it. The reason for this? The room was stifling to the point that I couldn't hold postures because I was slipping off my mat. Windows and front door open and fans running should be a requirement if the a/c is off. In addition to this, they pack in students to the tiny railroad studio to the point where if you're next to the wall, you're kind of blocked *and* due to this, one of the students knocked a statue off and onto the floor, creating a mess of debris all over my mat. Sure, I can try and be as yogini-like as the next person, but it was a bit much to handle. I'm really at the point where if I have the time to not just run across the street to practice, I'm going to practice elsewhere. I love Life, I love the teachers, but I think they've outgrown their space. Bravo for them... and it's great to see so many people into yoga here in New Orleans (where I love practicing more than anywhere else b/c it's so much less competitive in feel than, say, New York City).I feel bad that I'm littering Crescent Lotus' page with all of this when I'm just trying to leave them a good review. But maybe it will help you if you're trying to make a decision for a Sunday midday class. I hope Alexis' classes continue and grow here (in addition to Sundays, I mean).

So I actually took advantage of the Yelp Elite Culture events and attended a free burlesque class this evening. The instructor is a doll. Her name is Bella Blue. Because this is so outside of the box for me I was a little out of my comfort zone but she made me feel better. The girls here are fabulous and by the end of the class I felt like I wanted to come back for more. Even if Burlesque doesn't turn out to be my thing, I'm still glad I tried it and did something different. This lady is very talented and you can tell she loves what she does. That's the best kind of teacher you can ask for. I really hope I can make the time to come back and take more classes just for fun. I wish her the best and I highly recommend that you come and check it out. Like I said, this was out of the box for me and I had a great time. I'm sure you will as well. Also, I can't compare this dance studio to any other place because I've never been to any other dance studio! And frankly, I don't think I care to. I live close by and I like this instructor so I personally wouldn't go anywhere else.

Came here for a private Burlesque class as part of my bachelorette party. Bella was a fantastic teacher and made the whole experience really fun. We all laughed at ourselves but we still learned at least a little something.Bella also does perform on bourbon street so we checked her show out on Saturday at Lucky Pierre's and it is definitely worth checking out!I would highly recommend the class and show!

Had the best time here taking a very fun and liberating dance class during a Bachelorette party. It was so seamless to sign up and coordinate with the teacher. She brought the vibes, taught us some moves and made us all feel comfortable and sexy! We filmed TikToks and laughed while having the best time.

Highlight of our Bachelorette Weekend! We had an absolute blast at our Burlesque Class with our instructor Kryss, she was unfazed by our HUGE group of 18, made us all feel confident and sexy, and comfortable, while bringing us out of our comfort zone. Did stop smiling, laughing and dancing the entire time. Can't recommend this experience enough, we were on a high all day afterwards - thank you!!
