This bread! OMG, this bread! Soft, light, and crispy. I was sold on this restaurant in that first bite. I was in absolute ecstasy eating this ribeye. They brought it out on a sizzling plate full of juices. I shared it with my love and they brought him as sizzling plate with added juices. It was the best steak I've ever had in a restaurant. The German potatoes are the discs and they are so good. Red potatoes sliced thick fried perfectly. The Caesar salad was warm. The augratin potatoes did not have a lot of flavor. You might ask for extra cheese, it might help. She brought me simple syrup for my sweet tea. I ordered a piece of pecan pie to go so I can't tell you how that tastes but it looks great. The tea is fresh brewed and very good. Our server was personable, knowledgeable, and prompt. The decor is very old steakhouse. Tiny restaurant with a full bar. We really enjoyed our night here.

I'm pretty sure this is the oldest steakhouse in NOLA. If you're looking for incredibly knowledgeable and friendly service, this is the place! The vibe is very relaxed and it's a great place to celebrate holidays, birthdays, or go on a date. I've had the bacon wrapped sirloin, the porterhouse for 2, pretty much every potato dish, and the z pie. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Was recommended to try this original venue by a colleague and it was so delicious and welcoming staff. The steaks were so delicious . Enjoyed the crab stuffed mushrooms as well . Very unpretentious venue . Nice to enjoy an old fashion steak house with delicious food .

If you read the reviews here you may not go to this restaurant. HOWEVER, we made reservations and went albeit apprehensively. We got there early, they seated us in a private booth. We ordered a ribeye, salmon, spinach au gratin, and lyonnaise potatoes.Apart from the fact that our server was top notch the food was amazing! The steak melted in our mouths and the salmon was one of the best we've ever had. The flavors of everything were amazing and we loved it! The staff was welcoming and helpful. The over all atmosphere of the restaurant was buzzing. We felt like we had been swept back in time a bit. It was great to hear all of the people delighting in time with each other.

Came here at the raving recommendation from a co-worker. The atmosphere felt very New Orleans - small and tight seating, but boisterous and energetic as everyone dined. We started with the onion rings because they were also recommended. I'm not normally a fan of onion rings because too many times have the onions slid out of the breading for me, but these held up. They were hand breaded and freshly hot. The filets were *thick* and wrapped in bacon. We both asked for medium rare but mine came in a little under, while my husband's was perfect mid rare. I don't usually mind it but since these steaks were so thick, it was a little harder to get past this time. The steaks and lobster were all bathing in butter and it was absolutely delicious that way. The potatoes au gratin didn't look special but they were pretty good. Lovely place, would certainly recommend coming here and will hopefully come again soon.

I was hungry for a steak. I have been to CCSH years ago, and was not impressed. So, CCSH was my second choice because it is Mardi Gras season and the other places were locked with traffic. The location is convenient. Parking is easy. No problem with the parking because they have their own off-street parking. Pleasant intake. Rapid service. The restaurant is really dated and in need of total renovation. Server was very nice, knowledgeable and prompt. Unfortunately, the steak was not very good. It was either too tough or the steak knife was dull. So, it was a chore to cut it into bite sizes. check out my other reviews if you want to eat a good steak in New Orleans, .

I was promptly greeted by the hostess upon arrival, asked if I had a reservation, and then seated. However, after being seated, I waited over 15 minutes without any acknowledgment from the wait staff--no water, no greeting, nothing. Meanwhile, I watched as the hostess seated another couple nearby and immediately provided them with water.I was excited to try the oldest steakhouse in New Orleans, especially given the glowing reviews, but the lack of attentiveness from the staff was incredibly disappointing. To make matters worse, when I inquired about the delay, the hostess simply told me it would be "a few more minutes," despite the clear contrast in how she handled the other table. After waiting with no service or acknowledgment, I ultimately decided to leave. A great restaurant experience is about more than just the food--it starts with hospitality, and unfortunately, that was severely lacking here.I had high expectations, but based on this experience, I don't see myself returning.

Had a large friends and family dinner in their private event space a few years back. It was a little chaotic outside but you would never know inside. Staff was friendly and welcoming and the food was epic! Our 16 year old son still talks about how good it was. We were staying in the French quarter but ventured out and it did not disappoint. Would absolutely go back when in town.

Great little spot right on Broad! Menu says celebrating 90 years! The only meat is beef steak. Many varieties but it's ONLY beef steaks. We tried it for the first time tonight and we're in love. Service was excellent. They were ready for our reservation when we arrived and we never wanted for anything! My wife and i shared a small Caesar salad, the ribeye, the German potatoes and the Au gratin potatoes. No room for dessert! Caesar was fresh and crispy with very little dressing and not very cold. I ate that, lol. Au gratin didn't have much cheese or flavor in general. German fries were thick cut lightly fried disc potatoes. Very good if you like that. The ribeye had a little age on it but was expertly cut and cooked and served on a sizzling plate with spiced butter and a SECOND sizzling plate for splitting! Overall an impressive experience and we will be back and will be bringing our friends here!
