I love this farmers market, the location, and the verify of items they offer. I bought homemade cheese, truffle and lemon flavored chili oil, and honey! There were so many other booths I could have bought from and will next time because it's a weekly market. It's steps away from Bayou Beer Garden, which is convenient. Also, there are several booths that offer snacks and food to try on the spot.

What a gem in Mid City! My husband and I try to come here every week to get veggies and support local farmers and artisans.Yesterday we bought the creations of Passion Flour. We bought a blood organs danish, which was AMAZING! We also bought a slice of pistachio honey cookie butter king cake which was also delicious! The filling was just spectacular! We got their ruby chocolate brownie also but haven't tried it yet. It will be our dessert tonight.Jade and Ryder are very friendly and responsive via Instagram. We cannot wait to preorder other treats. They sell out quick so I highly recommend DMing them on IG if you want to get anything so they can save it for you.The Farmers Market is so easy to walk to if you are by the Lafayette Greenway. And they have really developed that are to be family friendly :) there is also a dog part right next to the post office across the street.

This is a review for the Mid-City Thursday market. I'm not sure why it says Metairie with an address on Vets but I've submitted updates.I was running home from an appointment on City Park Avenue last week and I saw the CCFM signs reminding me about the Thursday market so I u-turned and headed over. Since it's June a brief heavy cloudburst had just finished but the puddles were easy to avoid. Booths are currently very well spaced and since I was there before 5 it wasn't too crowded. I was able to get peaches, green beans, creole tomatoes, sheepshead filets, tofu and gorgeous bread. Yummy!Only downside was that parking was tight. There were signs saying no street parking but people were anyway and that caused issues on the 2way street.

Covid-19 update:I think there may be so confusion as to which Farmers market this is? There are multiple crescent city farmer's markets throughout the city but I believe this one is referencing the one in Mid-City that used to be in the parking lot at American Can apartments but has now relocated to the Lafitte Greenway!Soooo I don't normally cook so I was there to just check it out and maybe get some prepared food! I lucked out bc Plume Algiers had some delicious chai and stuffed naan with goat cheese and mushrooms! It was super easy to pay with Venmo and they had their venmo account right on a laminated sheet! Score!I like this new location for the farmer's market bc there is more space to spread out than the American fan parking lot. Plus it's such a great outdoor space right off the Lafitte Greenway with two sets of bike racks, benches, hand sanitizer stations, and even a lit stage! They also have a booth where you can get tokens and they accept EBT which is awesome! There were lots of different booths with everything fromFruits, vegetables, seafood, bread, local honey, and so much more! One of the highlights for me is seeing the beautiful rainbow flag that ends in a trans flag! Way to represent! They also have lovely metallic sculptures that light up in different colors at night!Happy Farmer's Marker Shopping!

This farmer's market has opened in the large grassy area in front of the Ochsner Rehabilitation Hospital, west of the main campus and close to the Causeway. While it was winter (inasmuch as one can call it that here), the inaugural market still had a decent number of stands with fresh produce, as well as prepared foods. And Saints gear.I sampled a tofu with holy basil stir fry, which was good on taste (if a small portion size). There was a decent selection of winter vegetables available, and plenty of parking, and it was well attended.

Just a few vendors. Blueberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, spices, teas, popsicles. Nice to see a Farmers Market in French Market.Just wish there were more fresh fruit vendors, so that we could carry and eat while in the area.

Before I begin this review, I should give you some background information. First of all, I've pretty much never shopped at a farmer's market before (yes, I'm a failure as a White Person, I know, forgive me) so although I do approve of them, I don't have a ton of direct experience with other examples to compare this one with. Which is to say, I ain't no expert on farmer's markets, so proceed with caution. Secondly, I LOATHE grocery shopping, and have literally not gone to the grocery store since I moved into my new apartment (in October). Instead, I have managed to subsist upon "groceries" made ad-hoc and at 2 a.m. with stuff they sell at the Original Ghetto Mart (see my review for the Ideal Discount #4 Market - http://www.yelp.com/biz/ideal-discount-4-market-new-orleans#hrid:3cM3Q6GYa2x3NVimE77Bmg) and Newly Discovered Neighborhood Ghetto Mart (the "discount" "convenience" store that is happily located within a 2-3 minute walk of my front door, which I did *not* Yelp because then you would know where I live. And you might be a crazy stalker. No offense.) Now that I've decided slices of American Cheese with bread does not constitute a sandwich, and I probably cannot survive for much longer on Coconut M&Ms, VitaminWater and booze, it's become increasingly apparent that I need to go to the f*ing grocery store, or sign up for one of those services that sends you meals and/or groceries, because food is something I remember fondly and would like to reincorporate into my life. It's getting old, and surely there's a service out there that can help with this. Right? Given my current nutritional intake, I was SO EXCITED when I unexpectedly happened upon the Mid-City Green Market yesterday AND they weren't closing up AND I had cash on me AND therefore I could have real, actual, wholesome, non-plastic cheese and other food! Oh, and bonus, it's totally Satsuma Season! I heart satsumas, and am always sad when the season ends. Thus, my first purchase was a $4 small bag of satsumas. As I continued down the very short aisle of stalls, I bought a loaf of crusty multigrain bread, a one lb. box of Pontchatoula Strawberries, a $1 pint of fresh local milk, and eventually couldn't carry any more stuff. (Did I mention I was on foot?) Long story short: I heart this tiny, adorable farmer's market because they magically appeared one day, right after I'd been complaining about what a failure of a grownup I am when it comes to feeding myself properly. Thank you, universe!

This small farmers market sets up in the parking lot of American Can Company closest to Orleans Ave. on Thursday afternoons from 3-7. I have been here a few different times and seen lots of varieties of produce, baked goods, hand-made yummy things, plants, seafood, meats and flowers, all locally made or grown. On our last visit we spent about $25 and came home with blueberries, zucchini, beets, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, chard, a strawberry tart and a home-made Popsicle made of fruit juice- YUM!! We will be back!Pro Tip: If you live close enough, I would recommend walking as parking is tight! Or ride your bicycle. If you have to drive your car, park on the other side of Orleans Ave.

During the Yelp event at Pearl, I decided to duck into this neat little Farmer's Market and see what they had to offer. What I found was one more reason why Mid City is so great. This small market offers a whole variety of things such as fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh caught seafood. The woman working the seafood table mentioned that the shrimp and crabs she had were caught the day before- it doesn't get much better than that.I didn't get anything this time, but I this is definitely a neat little addition to the area, especially when the weather is nice and you are headed to a wine tasting at Pearl on a Thursday. All of the vendors are local, so you are supporting local businesses by shopping here and I found them all to be friendly.
