It doesn't get more fresh and local than an independently-owned bookstore. They're known for their new and local history books, prints of maps... and really old books (and new ones, too). We came across Crescent City Books while doing a walkabout in the French Quarter. With cocktails in hand, we strolled through CCB. I was instantly drawn to their local authors section, and I walked away with "Big Freedia: God Save the Queen Diva!" A gf of mine got a children's book, and another friend purchased some postcards. Overall, great experience.

Love a good used book store. Super quaint and small but nice selection of old maps and vintage artwork as well as books. The guy working there was very nice!

Crescent city books is a fantastic bookstore that we just happen to find on our walk back to our hotel. We stopped in just thinking it would be a quick look over, but we probably ended up staying about an hour. There's artwork and local authors, which is what we really focused on. We ended up buying three books, all about New Orleans - from ghosts to the history of bananas foster. The owner was really helpful and I took some of his suggestions. I love the layout of the store. It was very easy to maneuver. There's definitely a great selection here. It's just a great spot to stop in and take a look around, I'm glad we did.

We came upon Crescent City Books as part of our various recent walks through the French Quarter. Gayle and I wandered in this compact place and spent a fair amount of time looking through the stacks of used and antique books. The rare offerings are behind lock and key. They also have a nice selection of art prints, maps, and other framed treasures. I came out modestly with a few local picture cards, and a mental note to come back and spend more time here. The guy (owner?) working the front desk for friendly and informative. My only quibble is that because this bookstore is relatively small and well loved, I sometimes had to wait my turn to look within a particular section.

Nice little bookstore just off Bourbon street. The usual collection of books, but roughly organized. As long as one has a bit of time, this was a nice store to visit. Good value, nice selection. What's not to like.

We were in the area and stumbled across this book store.its a small book store but they had a lot. There's not really any modern books they are all older. If you're into that there are some really great finds here. Highly recommended this bookstore.

What a great used bookstores. I thought the items in the display case were particularly interesting. There was a good selection of older books. I personally collect older medical texts and they had a decent selection. A nice place to wander and explore

Charming bookshop with helpful and friendly owner. Whenever I'm exploring a city I haven't been to or even one I'm coming back to, bookshops and coffee shops are on my list to visit. Preferably locally and independently owned. This one is a gem. It may be small but the selection is mighty! If I would have had room in my suitcase I would have hauled a library home. As it was I found a book for my husband by one of his favorite authors that he hadn't read! And it was in great condition and used so I paid a fraction of the cost I would have elsewhere. This is a place I would visit over and over.

I had an excellent experience at Crescent City Books, the guy that works there is very sweet and gave an awesome book recommendation. The young lady at the register has beautiful blue hair and was very helpful. They made me feel very special on my birthday--I'd suggest this place to any book lover in the area
