I loved this place! I had part of my bachelorette party here with about 12 people so we booked a private party. When we got there, we weren't really sure where to park but I called them quickly and they told me where we could go and the area looks really sketchy to be honest. There's like a painted sign with arrows telling you where to go in a warehouse, probably not the best place to go after dark, but the room for the silks is right there to the left when you walk in the garage door and Alex was there waiting for us. It's definitely a little bit of a workout and I was sweating a bit too but it's a great activity to do with your girlfriends and you get a lot of action shots while you're up in the air. You get a complimentary fruit or dessert tray with the party and we also paid for the charcuterie board and they were great snacks between your turn on the silks. We also had a group picture with the big ring that I sat on in the air as Alex posed everyone else and she sent the pictures to us after as well. Alex was super accommodating and worked with me with the booking and she was the one who instructed us and was very helpful to anyone who was struggling or uncomfortable. When you book a private party like that, I think you also get a discount for the next class you take so some of us are very excited to come back and do it again! You'll feel really graceful and confident while you're in the air with the silks. I had good reviews from all my ladies.

What a fun place! I've taken my daughter to a few of the kids' aerial classes and she is hooked! The instructors are so patient with newbies, and they couldn't be more welcoming.I'm hoping they add additional classes, since the kids' class on Saturday is sort of crowded and the adult classes are on the weekends or in the evenings. And I want to take a class so badly! Y'all, it looks like a blast! I think this place is fantastic and I can't wait to climb into the silks and fly!

Alex the owner was amazing! Since this was my first time taking an aerial class, she set me up with Lacey, an aspiring teacher. Lacey worked with me one on one and gave great step by step instructions. Not an easy task to say the least, but she couldn't have done better. Technically the time slot i could attend wasn't a "beginner" class, but since it was my only drop in option, they accommodated me like VIP.All of the attendees were so friendly and welcoming to an outsider, I was so relieved. I will absolutely be back! 3 hours of driving to Nola is a small price to pay for the professional instruction I received and the skills I learned! Their schedule is posted on their website!

Since we started the Yelp Gets Physical series, I've been able to get a taste of a variety of different activities that not only incorporate exercise, but a really unique skill or activity. When we hosted our YGP at Crescent City Aerial Arts (CCAA), I was rundown from a recent trip and could feel myself getting immensely sick. Alas, my Yelp community has a way of bringing me to life, and made it through, but didn't get to do many of the activities...so I swore I would return of my on volition. I'm also the type of person that will blow off a gym membership, but will commit to going to a $25 class or series (both of which you can sign up for). I conveniently signed up and paid online for the Intro to Aerial Arts. My friend was also able to drop-in on the class as well. Michael was our instructor and had been one of the instructors when we did the YGP. We began with some stretches and exercises to help prep our bodies for the silks. This class focused strictly on the silks introducing us to the terminology, how to distribute your body, beginner positions in the silks, and how to make it look good. While my long-limbed buddy and me were still trying to figure out how to make our gangly parts look as poised as Michael's, by the end of the class we felt much more confident in our postures in the silks with his coaching and tips. Michael then did a demo of what we would learn in the next class. This sneak peak was a little intimidating but incredibly inspiring. I usually also judge an exercise class by how I feel a few days later, and while I was a little sore nothing was so sore that I'd not want to go back. I think my friend and I will both do the beginner class one more time, and then move on. Michael also spoke about showcases, which I'd be very interested (if I do manage to find my footing in the silk game) to be a part of.

My friend and I wanted to try out aerial fitness so we got a 2-class Groupon for Crescent City Aerial Arts. We were so nervous for our first class, but it ended up being a lot of fun and a great work out! After a quick warm-up we were already doing exercises on the silks. Dara was our instructor and she was very helpful and explained things clearly. My friend and I were so surprised at how much we were able to do during the first class. You don't need much upper body strength to do the basics. Mind over matter! As far as logistics go, the studio was pretty easy to find. It's in an un-airconditioned garage, so it can get hot quickly... especially if you're working it! Keep hydrated! Crescent City seems to be pretty well-established. There were a few regulars and some preparing for a show. The studio has 7-8 silks. My friend and I shared one station during our first class. This was perfect because we were able to take turns and rest. The second class was much more busy and we shared with 3-4 people, not as ideal. My friend and I signed up for the classes online, but I'm not sure if it matters. It seems like the classes don't have a max or cap. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend everyone try it at least once! It was so much fun!

Alex was an amazing instructor for the intro class we took Tuesday night. Her instruction focuses on safety first, then encouragement to have fun. I felt very comfortable the whole time. We were very thankful to have a small class so that we didn't have to share much. The space is in a warehouse in midcity; there is free parking 1/2 block down. The entrance wasn't clearly marked as you have to walk through a warehouse parking lot area to get to the front door if the two warehouse doors are closed. That said, the website generally has all the information you need and you can even sign up for classes online. Once you've taken the intro class, there are plenty of other classes to choose from to continue practicing (kids & adults). My husband and I can't wait to go back for more classes - maybe a once a month refresher to add to our workouts.

Crescent City Aerial Arts is so rad! All of the staff are encouraging and so cool. They really made me feel like one day, I could totally be an aerial artist! But then I felt how sore my arms were the next day, you can feel that you have been working hard after a class. If you are open to a new kind of workout then Crescent City Aerial Arts is the place to be! The new location is in part of a warehouse and doesn't have much ac so be ready to sweat! If it is cool out, they open their big garage door to let some air in. My favorite part was playing around with the silks with a knot at the bottom. This would be a fun place to have a kid's birthday party or the perfect place to start if you want to get into aerial performance.

We did a private class for 5 for a bachelorette party and it was so much fun! We had no idea if we would be good at it, and the instructors made it so fun and easy to learn. I would definitely go back if I lived in the area.
