Crawfish Xpress

I thought I left a review for this business but I guess I didn't. This place has a magical drive through window and two walk up windows that for a few dollars fresh hot boiled crawfish comes out of them. There shrimp is good also. The ladies at the windows are always friendly and fast.

All in all, pretty good. I will have to say there was a good bit of dead crawfish in the bag. About 20% , and this was after waiting about 15 minutes for the crawfish to finish boiling. I had heard raving reviews about this place and the staff was nice enough, but the dead crawfish is a big no no in Louisiana. The Good ones were REALLY GOOD however!

Being a yankee I never had crawfish before. Just so happen this was right next to best western hotel. I bought me a pound of crawfish which they give you in a bag inside a brown paper sack. I also ordered a side of red skin potatoes. I wasn't too sure how to eat these damn things and there were no locals around the hotel to ask so I searched a YouTube video for help. Turns out I wasn't properly removing the mudvein. I tried to shuck the head but it didn't turn out the way I thought. All in all kind of messy and a lot of work for very little meat. The spicy flavor was really good I just feel bad about all the waste. Reminded me of baby lobsters. Too bad they didn't get a chance to grow up into big lobsters.

This is an awesome little crawfish hut with a drive thru or walk up window. They have boiled shrimp and crawfish as well as uncooked by the pound. They have a few other items as well. I got a crawfish boudin for $2 and some change (forget exact price) and it was awesome! It was super hot and tasted fresh. The boiled crawfish was great and reasonably priced. The service was super friendly and super fast! Everything was ready immediately. Check this place out instead of your typical fast food. You won't be disappointed!

Damn good! It was not super spicy how we like it but it saved us from having to buy an entire sack, take out the pot & propane burner, then having to peel a ton after we were full. Perfect for feeding a small group & for satisfying cravings.

Love this place! Eat there every time I travel to New Orleans. Non description metal building, with a blast of favors that the top restaurants wish they had. Basic food, get plenty of napkins, it is messy, but delicious! Not a sit down linen restaurant, most use the drive through. Rental car played host location for my meals there. Scrumptious! Seating outdoors, reasonable prices for Gulf Prawns and Crawfish in season. Close to the tourist area, but far enough away to get a great deal. Buy it by the pound, comes in a plastic lined brown paper bag. Can't beat it, just eat it!

Best boiled crawfish ever. Just the right amount of hot and spicy. I love the drive through and they are always prompt.

I have to agree with the previous reviewer. Happened to be passing through Plaquemine on a Sunday with an insatiable hunger for some boudin. With almost every other place closed by 7pm, I was overjoyed to find this shack open until 8. Initially deterred by the number of dollar signs in the listing (seems to be a mistake), I can attest that this place deserves your pennies. I had the crawfish boudin and crawfish potato. The boudin was a galaxy of flavors, and HOT! Oddly enough, even though the potato was a medly of crawfish, boiled potato, and some sort of cajun-spiced nacho cheese, I found it pretty fantastic as well. Next time I go back, I'll be trying their boiled bugs.

They sold us spoiled crabs and when I called about it the woman on the phone had a attitude. She needs to be fired won't be eating her again I've never bought spoiled food before and by the smell they should of known !!!!

ordered boil shrimp with heads on , got home about half were just heads no shrimp bodies.went back complained, said sorry but nothing else.
