It's a nice way to walk a short trail and get a view of the natural side of Louisiana without leaving the city. I liked the picnic benches at places along the route to sit and relax if you like and all of them had a pleasant view. Our Lyft driver found us pretty easily. We spent about an hour here. Great place to bring a bag lunch or picnic. I didn't have time but was interested to see the model plane part of the path, also being a southerner was concerned about bugs if we were to walk that inside more woodsy path, so we skipped it for both reasons. If i had my bug gear Id have attempted it though.

Couturie Forest is a super cool spot in City Park that is perfect for exploring trails and bits of wildlife. There are some fun teepees built around the forest and a swing you can find to enjoy some fun time on. Priscilla loves the forest and the peace and tranquility of a walk through these trails. It's beautiful any time of year.

I'm so glad my nephew took me here. As much as I spend my time in City Park, I never knew or venture out this other side of City Park. The forest is a great place to explore with your family and friends. I don't recommend going by yourself but each their own. You will encounter countless varieties of trees, fish, and birds along the trails and beautiful waterways. My nephew even ate berries from tree we come across. I even saw a huge gator relaxing on the other side of the river.

When you want to escape the hustle of the city without going to far- this is the perfect City Park to venture to. This was one of the stops along our haunted tour. We came here at night for a quaint dark walk in the forest. It is here located on the marsh that you can find a full ecosystem- eerie feels at night possible orbs and beautiful trees.

I feel like not a lot of people know about this place. It is a great nature trial in the middle of city park. I love that it is fairly quiet and there are a lot of trails to roam that twist in and out. I see families here and people walking their dogs. It's also awesome seeing the new trees that are being planted and I can't wait for them to grow big and tall. I am glad city park is investing in this area.

While the weather is nice I have been taking advantage of it and doing some exploration while power walking. I had heard about this part of the park, sadly, on the news a few times over the last few years. Mostly a-holes doing stupid stuff in a sweet but secluded section of this public space. I LOVE City Park!! and I LOVE that there are still places in the great urban park where one can 'get lost' and wander around in circles 'in the woods'. it would be a great place for a nature walk, there are a few picnic tables set up, I've seen folks out here fishing, and running, and communing with nature. The longest trail is only about a mile long, so you'd have to go around a few times to get in any sort of distance if that is your goal, but to take the city kids out to get a feel for the outdoors, this place it great!

Love love loved it. This is a little gem in the midst of New Orleans. There are hardly any man made structures within the forest, allowing you to really connect with nature. I'm an avid birdwatcher, so I went to scope out the wildlife. I saw some really exciting bird species: a female painted hunting, a male rose-breasted grosbeak, a Philadelphia vireo, and scarlet tanagers were the highlight! I really recommend this spot for birdwatching, looking for reptiles and amphibians, or just enjoying a leisurely stroll.

The thing about City Park is there are a lot of cool little things that are in the park that you might not even realize are there. Couturie Forest is one of those spots.A photographer friend of mine actually introduced me to this place and while the term "forest" is probably a bit generous, I would say that it's more of a nature based hiking trail. If you have ever been to the hiking trails at Jean Lafitte, I would say that it's along those lines. There are nice little trails throughout the forest with different plants and greenery all around. I really enjoyed walking through the shady parts, since it was rather hot on the day I visited I think the trail is open late-until 7 or 8, so it would be a good spot to check out on a late afternoon when the sun is starting to set.
