Here for Match Day 2024.What is National Match Day?Match Day is when the fourth year medical students learn where that have matched for residency including those who matched via the SOAP (Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program). It occurs on a Friday at the end of Match Week.At 11 AM CT/Noon ET, all students nationally receive an envelope and a text/email that lets them know what residency they have been offered and where. Is it dermatology? Orthopedics? Pediatrics? Psychiatry? Family med? Lots of tears of joy for the student that we went to support who matched at a top tier program after a lot of hard work. Congratulations!!! As far as the venue, we walked here from our hotel on Canal. The space was very organized with plenty of tables, cold drinks and trays filled with appetizers and desserts. Convenient bathrooms. Loved the celebratory Second Line which are a fixture at Tulane milestone events. Oh and the name? Club XLIV pays tribute to when the Saints won Super Bowl XLIV. Who dat? Who dat?

Saints Football re-starts on Sunday so I guess it's about time that I get around to reviewing this event space. On game days, it's a "private lounge" to get a drink before the game. I've been inside on those days, but I don't remember how or why... was I on a list? Did I just wander in and no one stopped me? Who knows?I've also been here for a variety of charitable events and it's a nice large space so there's plenty of room to move around. The food has always been good (from the mashed potato bar to sushi to salad bar to carving stations) and the bartenders are top notch. If you're paying for drinks they can be a bit pricey but consider the locale. Random thought... I think this used to be the lower level of the Macy's that was once in this location, so I think I've bought housewares in the same space. Maybe.

This is a posh club located adjacent to Champions Square. The name is in honor of the New Orleans Saints victory in Super Bowl 44!!! If you are looking for a place to hold a private event or wedding reception Club 44 is a definite show-stopper.It offers 10,000 sq ft of space that can seat up to 200ppl. The club is furnished with half a dozen black or white sectional sofas. Numerous 42" tables with white leather chairs complete the room. There are 10 TV's located throughout the room for video/TV viewing. Two bars accomodate the guests need to drink. Food and beverage catering is also provided if you desire. The best selling point for this venue, though, is the atmosphere. It just looks fabulous and the wonderful LED lighting system is what really creates that atmosphere. This venue has the potential to be the #1 place in the city for events/receptions but it needs some improvement. Mainly in the F&B department.I came here for a party this weekend and had a great time!I totally recommend Club 44 for any event you want to hold whether a class reunion, birthday party, anniversary party, wedding reception, etc.

I really had higher expectations for a private venue and overall I just wasn't very impressed with this space. I found it quite unacceptable that no entrance was allowed from the back door and the staff required you to do a long walk around to enter via the "front" door that really really felt more like a back door. Personally I think this is definitely on the bottom tier of event spaces in NOLA and there are MANY far better spaces that offer a lot more quality, charm and old NOLA ambiance than this space. This space could be anywhere blah else strip mall America.

Was here for a work event last night, the second time we've used this venue. It's a large size but the circular configuration keeps it cozy. The bartenders, Danielle and Martera were all smiles and service. The food was good and abundant, cheese and fruits, corn and crab bisque, shrimp etouffe, pork loin, bananas foster, and a coffee bar. They have a great dance floor and the white couches are a nice place for a break.

Cool setting with an even cooler vibe. I went to this place for an evening wedding and felt like I was in the VIP room at a fancy nightclub. It's located in the heart of the CBD inside Champion Square, which is in the Superdome's backyard. A nice sized bar is the center of the room and tables and chairs and upscale couches are scattered about the rest of the space. It's a perfect setup to satisfy guests whether they want to sit and eat, sit and drink or mill about the room. I estimated about 200 or so guests were in attendance and there is so much space I never felt crowded or claustrophobic. There was even room for a photo booth area. There's a small stage in back where the band played and a good sized dance floor in front. Naturally, the decorations are New Orleans and sports themed and very tasteful. Speaking of taste, the food was catered by Centerplate and it was delicious! I've had good and bad experiences with their catering but it definitely worked here. The stuff was friendly and fun to boot. Not sure how much the space costs to rent but all in all I'd say it's worth checking out if you're planning a party in the CBD. Parking is available in the next door parking garage as part of the package.

I was at Club XLIV for a conference evening reception which is within walking distance of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. A decent layout for small to mid-size private events. I was surprise when I walk to the venue since I thought I went to the wrong place. I agree with another Yelper that the front entrance felt more like the back door. Not sure how this venue transform as a nightclub since it's on the small side.

It's very modern, menu dated as they incorporate a Japanese fusion inn there tapas and appetizers. Had the privilege to the prime roast, it was delicious.

On game day: Paid $10 to get in and got a cocktail voucher. Bar was overwhelmed, very slow service. Lame atmosphere but has lots of TVs if you want to sit down.
