My child takes several classes at City Park Movement & Art and absolutely loves it! The programs are exciting, engaging, and educational. The teachers are terrific. They excel at creating a comfortable environment that is conducive to exploring, playing, and learning. Every time we leave it's with a smile on our faces.

This is a very small dance studio (think front room of a shotgun small). My kids did the Art and Acrobatics. The art classes consisted of the kids painting on pieces of cardboard most of which I didn't even get to keep because they were used for their spring show. The kids liked it but it totally wasn't worth what I paid. At least the teacher was very nice.Acrobatics is aimed at 3-5yr olds. Basically they lay out a few mats and a tunnel in a circle and have the kids take turns doing "donkey kicks", somersaults and going through the tunnel with a little yoga thrown in at the end of class. Which would have been OK if the teacher would have realised that you can't expect all 3-4 year olds to sit perfectly still while 15-20 kids do this circuit. I sat and watched one time and my kids got to do the circuit twice in 45 mins. The rest of the time they sat waiting. At the end of the semester right before the show Nikki kicked my kids (and a couple other young ones) out of class. Really, hurt my girls feelings because she had been hyping the whole preforming thing to them and now they didn't get to do it. Refunding my money for the 3 classes that were left was little consolation.Mommy notes: Doesn't like you to watch in the window or show up early, not open during holidays or jazz fest, does offer a moms night out type deal every once in awhile (check their facebook), offers a summer "camp", bathroom right off the dance room, large class sizes for amount of teachers/assistants.

My daughter has been attending City Park Movement and Art since she was two years old, entering toddler time and ballet/tap with Ms. Nikki for weekly classes. Now at age 6, my daughter has blossomed into a confident dancer and artist who has learned how to be a good listener, wait her turn, not be afraid of making mistakes and above all be joyous. This is thanks to the great community of teachers, mentors, peers and friends she has made at the little corner-store studio just blocks from City Park. It's clear the kids come first at CPMA, an enriching environment for all things dance and art, and the adult classes are pretty awesome too! I can't thank Ms. Nikki and her team enough for giving my daughter such a safe place for her to embrace her imagination and creativity.

My kids love this place! I love the space and it is definitely bigger than a shotgun. The teachers are wonderful and have fun with the kids. Performances are laid back for the parents and there's no costly dance outfits. Parents are encouraged to drop off their kids and leave so that the kids won't be distracted. There are many opportunities to see what your kids are up to. I highly recommend City Park Movement And Art.

My daughter has been a student at City Park Movement and Art since she was about 3 years old. Now she is 10 years old and continues to take dance classes here. She loves all the teachers and has made many friends. I am amazed at how much she has learned and how the teachers have given her confidence and have helped her to be become an engaged and disciplined dancer. I love the creative peformances that are unlike any other in the city. City Park Movement and Art is the best!

CPM&A expects too much from the toddler kids. The refund policy is $0 after classes have started not even credit towards other classes. For some of the younger ones it may or may not be a good fit.
