Tickets are $15 on site (card only) and $10 online. The convenience of sitting in the car and slowly driving through an area of the park is great for the ones who don't like to or want to walk around to view. Towards the end of the driving view, you can park and walk to another area of the park for more lights and photos. The lines are usually long before Christmas Day, so be prepared to wait. Now, is it worth the wait? Honestly, probably not. Especially if you've visited before. Some people wait until after Christmas to visit to avoid the long lines, too. And yes, it's the same price after Christmas.

My usual Christmas lighting were at Celebration Of The Oaks in City Park. I didn't want to be around way too many people so I decided to take the kids to Lafreniere Park on their last day of lights showing. Perfect for us because it was not crowded. They had park workers handing out mask if anyone needed it. We didn't do the driving around. Plenty of parking. The display was very creative. They have Marvels, Minions, Hello Kitty and many other Christmas theme for all to enjoy. They also have bubble fake snow for the kids. Beside the normal snack place near the parking area, they had Kenny's Cajun & Creole Food Truck, I got their chicken wings combo. It was delicious! They also had another food vendor that was selling your typical festival snacks. We got the funnel cakes, cotton candy and drinks there. Overall we had a safe great time.

I have lived in the greater New Orleans area for 8 years now. I have always wanted to come here, but have been waiting for that special someone or friend to come with. Well that is done. I came by myself and it was well worth it. $10 per vehicle. Drive in and thru the drive thru part. There is a walking area, with concessions. It was all just so lovely. Everyone was required to wear masks while walking around. Yes, it is all outdoors. This started in 1986 and a lot of the lights were donated by Al Copeland's family when he passed away. Evidently he made quite a few of his neighbors angry with all of the lights in his yard. I say it was jealousy, but I haven't had to sleep next to a bunch of light displays either. Very cute. I would suggest everyone come. To see the amazement on the kids faces was amazing.
