Chris'specialty Meats

I went to Chris' Specialty Meats for lunch (Highland Road location-Baton Rouge). I had the Ribeye Poboy with a salad ( 1 of the 3 sides choices). It was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. !!! The staff was polite and accommodating. I didn't have to wait very long for my meal and it wasn't pricey. I had take out, but they also had a very nice area to sit and eat. They also sell preseasoned meats and dishes you can buy and cook at home. And they look delicious as well. I'm going back to try some other things on the menu and taking the family with me. Great job Chris' !!!

Clean. Store is easy to navigate. Fairly reasonable prices. This place is my go to for premade family dinner. Just thaw and bake, most items. Kids never know I don't cook all day. Stuffed chicken, stuffed pork chops. Candied yams, creamed spinach. Cornbread dressing. A multitude of Louisiana soups to select from corn and crab soup or gumbo. Red beans. Frozen sausages and boudin. So many great options.

Working on a film crew in the area with a few people in from LA. One of the bigwigs had never tried boudin so now seems like a good of a time as any. Walked in after convincing and said bigwig asks the girl behind the counter how's the boudin to which she replied 'Oh, I don't like it!' Guess we won't get that to consider boudin again. He walked right out. Who can blame him. Not telling you how to run your business but either make boudin your employees can be proud of or get new employees!

It is never overly crowded. The employees always have their masks on. And the food is quite tasty! I shop here often.!

Once again, did not disappoint. To my knowledge one of the few places one can find Royal Red Shrimp. I also got a stuffed chicken with cornbread, stuffed jalapeño peppers and crawfish boudin. My teenage boys were thrilled with dinner this evening! Everything was EXCELLENT. Well done Tressy Leindecker!

we went to chris specialty meat in prairieville today.we bought hot boudin,frozen boudin for later.pralines,cracklins,pigskins.the boudin is perfect..green onions are wonderful.well seasoned but not to much. cooked to perfection. the cracklins are delicious..not hard to break teeth like some.the pig skins are great..could use some more seasoning but good like they are.the bag of prailins had five in it. i could have ate all five.mr plauche provided speedy and attentive service.this is not the place to buy cheaply made and priced food. but if you want quality at a fair price this is your shop.im going back and stock up on their steaks.

It would be nice if Chris' had a website with the hours of operation posted for each of their stores. It would also be helpful if they posted the cooking times for their meats. Seems if you don't keep the one slip of paper with cooking times and temperatures on it, you have to guess. I know their food is good but NOT if you cook it incorrectly. I can find neither on line.
