China Star

Love this food. There isn't many options in Lacombe but this is definitely one our favorites!!

I eat here regularly. Wendy and her family ran it 2 decades ago. She was a Godsend and knew my voice and took special care of me. The latest family that runs the China Star are polar opposites from the delightful originals. I still like the food but they are unfriendly and close for Christian holidays and others, which is when typical Chinese restaurants are open as a alternative to a turkey or ham dinner. They also close on Mondays. I realize no one wants to work 7 days a week but most Chinese restaurants don't close on Mondays. I was getting ready to get some Chinese food on Beyond Menus and filled everything out and I couldn't check out because they're closed. What a disappointment. I'm giving 4 stars because i like the food but I'd give zero or one star for their unfriendly service. Their son is the nicest of the bunch. They need to open on holidays when families are together for the day off. if someone reads this from China Star, I doubt they could care less what advice (if any) I offer. I'll attach pic's after the next time I get food from there.

Ordered takeout for dinner. Had the wonton soup and the Sechuan beef. The soup was pretty good but the broth tasted like it came from a low quality mix. The beef entree had a nice mix of beef and vegetables but was not spicy at all!! Hint - tell them you want some peppers. Overall a nice place.

As 20 year residents of our little town of Lacombe, our family feels so lucky to have this delicious Chinese restaurant so close by! Whenever we feel like Chinese and eating in we order online, and then in no time are enjoying there fresh and consistently great food! Thanks for being here, you guys!!

Lucky China has great food, they are very kind people and they always throw a lil' something extra in your to-go order. Sometimes it's crab rangoon! I have never had bad food here, their oil for frying is never dirty or stale. Closed on Mondays...beware... :-)

The food here is delicious!!! The customer service is fantastic and the portions are such a great size for the price. This family owned restaurant is definitely the best Chinese food on the Northshore!!

I love the food here. It's consistently good and the kitchen is open to view and appears clean and organized. Always a plus, in my humble opinion .Nothing fancy, good sized serving for the price. Very friendly staff. I would recommend this restaurant if this is the style food you're looking for.

It's just ok. We ordered ahead and it wasn't ready on time. We waited an extra 15 minutes even though it didn't seem busy. The pork fried rice was dried out so we threw it away. The sesame chicken and general tsau were just ok. The dining room is a mess with boxes and supplies covering the tables. It's mostly takeout.

Good is always yummy. We get takeout mostly so not sure what the dine-in experience is like. Food is piping hot when it arrives. Very flavorful.
