Chez Ru Rene Bakery

Last couple times I've been I was given cold cupcakes. I actually believe they did not bake these, just add frosting as they taste identical to Rouses (which they receive frozen and decorate in store). I can pay half the price and go to Rouses if that's the case! Disappointment.

I had multiple guests at my wedding tell me that it was one of the most delicious cakes they'd ever had. It was just the way I asked, their delivery time was prompt, and I had no issues the entire time that I spoke with them throughout the wedding.

Yes, awesome! For my 10-year wedding anniversary, I wanted to recreate the top of our wedding cake. It was a super simple design. I took my idea and a photo of the top of the cake to 3 "big box" grocery store bakeries in the area and all of them said no, they can't do it. They couldn't make the small size round cake, it had to be a big 8-inch at least and not to mention, the customer service/knowledge of the product at each of the stores was lacking. I gave up and was all ready to go buy a crappy store-bought cake when my husband decided to go down the street to Chez Ru Rene and see what they could do. No problem at all. Baker could bake the right size, use the exact flavors, and decorate it as in the photo - fast and without a problem. The cake was wonderful and our 10-year anniversary was wonderful. I appreciate Chez Ru Rene's great service and willingness to work with us on a custom order so much. Goes to show, there's a lot of be said for buying/supporting local businesses. We're customers now for life. Got a birthday coming up soon and will definitely be placing a cake order here.

I first heard about them when my friend had her wedding cake from Chez Ru Rene at in November 2011. It tasted so amazing I had to find out the bakery so I could get them for my wedding. They were so easy to work with from the tastings, to design, to cake pulls. They have a bunch of past cake options that they have done that are all beautiful but I had printed a picture from a website and they were able to perfectly match it. Their almond filling with toasted almond slivers is to die for! I also have ordered birthday cakes from them and they were great. Anyone in the market for cake needs to check this place out!

Chez Ru Rene made the wedding cake and groom's cake for my wedding. They did an incredible job! The staff was warm, friendly, and, professional; making my (now) wife feel very welcome and comfortable in choosing a cake where other bakeries made us feel pressured to choose and as if our very business was a burden. And most importantly the cakes were absolutely incredible tasting and beautiful looking! We barely had any to take home with us. I highly recommend Chez Ru Rene for any and all cake related parties and celebrations.

Incredible bakery - I've used them for three different wedding events and they have really delivered each time. Would recommend them to anyone.

THE BEST TASTING WEDDING CAKE EVER!!! My wife and I were renewing our vows and since we got married in a court house while I was in the military, this was our official wedding with family and friends. So as everyone knows the cake has to out of this world for a wedding (and it was). We took suggestions from friends and family and we also went on numerous websites to read reviews and we did not hear or come across Chez Ru Rene while researching. So we make our appointments with what we thought were the best of the best and having to fight our way into appointment times and store closings we had our list of appointments. Our first appointment was Haydel's Bakery. Everyone said if you want the best cake that is where we needed to go, and so we went. We were not impressed at all with the quality of the cake or frosting/filling. As I was sitting at the table I decided to pull up yelp to see what was in the area that we could possibly go visit to sneak in and taste the cake they had. Up pops Chez Ru Rene Bakery on Yelp! with only 3 reviews, but with all 5 stars and everyone mentioned that their guests loved the taste and quality of the cake. They were open so we drove about ten minutes down the road, found the bakery and went in. Since we did not have an appointment the did not have sample plates for us to taste so we bought some items and fortunately they had some cake that we could taste. By the way, while in the store I looked around and on one of the shelfs they had not one but to awards from theknot.com for the best wedding cakes for two consecutive years 2013 and 2014.It was an explosion of almond flavor that just melted in our mouths. My wife looked at me and said now I know what you mean. (When we were at Haydel's Bakery, I said that the cake was grainy and lacked flavor.) She continued on by saying that Chez Ru Rene's cake was light fluffy and extremely tasty. Sometimes when you get a cake it is really good for the first few bites then you can't eat anymore because it get too sweet. Not in this case. We gave them a picture of what we wanted, and it was like they copied and pasted. Our cake looked like and exact replica of the photo, minus they flowers we wanted to be different/added.All of my guest were asking where did we get the wedding cake? Saying, this is the best cake I have ever tasted...who ever made this cake must have made a deal with the devil, it is so amazing...I never knew wedding cake could actually be this good...this cake is absolutely phenomenal...this cake tastes as good as it looks...the cake looks too good to eat.If you are looking for a wedding cake, Chez Ru Rene absolutely must be on you list of tastings. Needless to say we did not go to any of our fore mentioned appointments, honestly once you taste this cake you will understand why.The Smith Family

We put down a deposit for a wedding cake for a summer 2019 wedding with about a year notice. We even came in for a cake tasting and were excited to work with Chez Ru Rene. However, when I followed up closer to the wedding day (probably a couple months ahead of the big day), Chez Ru Rene's phone number was disconnected. From what I could tell online, they appeared to go out of business. Maybe they only closed for a brief time or were in the process of moving or something, as I see they seem to be up and running again. I don't know what happened back in 2019; all I know is I had to scramble to find another vendor for my wedding cake and was very disappointed that no one ever got in touch with me to explain or apologize. It was a very stressful experience, not to mention I lost my deposit (which was $95!).

Other than trying to work with them via phone that was extremely stressful from Los Angeles, they did an absolutely great job with our 25th Anniversary Cake.

I ordered a bug themed birthday cake/cupcakes for my 4 y/o son's birthday party at the Insectarium. I honestly had no idea what to expect from them, but the cake was PERFECT! The designs were amazingly realistic & the cake was delicious! The young ladies that I talked to every time I called were very pleasant and polite. I highly recommend them!
