Charlie's

Have eaten at Charlie's several times an if the Lord allows me , I'll ne dining there Wednesday for my birthday. Their servers are such helpers and do all they can to please the customers. The atmosphere is welcoming, and for them to go above and beyond to satisfy their customers should be commended. I Don know the young lady name that waited on my brother, but if she's allowed to read this she will know how much she is appreciated. The answer to the question that night was, Capers. Thanks again

This is a nice place, and the staff is very friendly, but the food is subpar to say the least. The Poboy bread was incredibly soft no crispiness on the outside, like it's supposed to be at all the shrimp were tiny and tasteless and the gumbo like they used, frozen crawfish and shrimpgranted I didn't try their steak but I don't think it's worth the trip all the way out here to Springfield to try it again

Worst food I have ever eaten. Heard these are new owners. May need to hire an actual chef. Seriously, I am unsure how they're open.

The food was okay but the service was absolutely horrible.it took forever to get our food. My cup of gumbo had no meat in it at all and when I told the waitress she offered nothing to fix it. Then my husband and I both ordered the catfish plate, the fish and the fries where literally dripping with grease and to put the icing on the cake we were supposed to have fries and coleslaw with our meal, the waitress never brought the coleslaw out to us, so when we were almost completely finished I asked about it and the waitress told me that I should have reminded her to bring it out to us. I was like isn't that your job? She got pissy with me and my husband dragged me out of the restaurant. Needless to say I don't think we will be back.

I'm not sure how they make their crab au gratin, but magic has to be involved!! Best meal we've had in the area and we will definitely be back!

If you are near the river Charlies is a decent place to stop and grab a bite to eat. It's not too cheap but it's not too expensive by todays standards either.The bar has a nice atmosphere and usually has pretty good service. I liked the steaks I have eaten here and I would recommend giving it a try.

We are long time Charlie diners. Long before the current owners. The new Charlie's will never match the original. That being said, the transition was bumpy to say the least. But, our previous couple visits have been positive, exception being the dessert case, AVOID THE DESSERT CASE!! Stale cakes that look delicious. Get dessert elsewhere. We went tonight, ordered onion rings as appetizers, then ordered our meal. The meal showed up first, we said we expected our appetizer first, the waitress said, " Yeah, I know, it is what it is, the kitchen is a little 'discombulated' tonight." The appetizer showed up after we were almost finished eating. To their credit they removed it from our meal but "it is what it is" is not what you tell customers when the kitchen fucks up the meal!!!'

Enjoyed the fried catfish and nice atmosphere.Service was very good. Onion rings were very good, too.

Camped at Tickfaw State Park April 2024 and gave Charlie's a try. Could not have been more pleased. The chef is great with large portions of tasty treats. The price is very reasonable. Try the sugarcane vinaigrette on salads and the stuffed mushrooms are amazing. Everything we tried was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful.
