Chambliss Auto Paint & Body Shop

Car was "totaled" by auto insurer and Chambliss screwed it back together soup to nuts.They realize people are stressed about losing their wheels and do their best as car "doctors" to get your wheels back and in good stead.Great folks.

This is an auto paint and body shop. Recently, a family member asked me to drop off a car to be detailed there. Upon arriving, I was struck by the scene before me: the large, garage-like building and its backyard were cluttered with cars in various stages of repair. At first glance, it was clear that the place was in disarray. The floors were filthy, auto parts were scattered everywhere collecting dust, and the signs and pictures on the walls were faded from years of neglect. It was definitely not an inviting place.After waiting a few minutes, disappointed by the lack of greeting, I navigated my way into their "office" through an indistinct door. Inside, I was met by an elderly, disheveled man. I informed him that I was there to drop off a car, but before I could explain further, he immediately demanded to know my name. He then proceeded to rudely lecture me, stating that he was just covering for the owner, who was out on an errand, and insisted he needed my name. I tried to explain that they would not have my name on record, only the owner's, but he cut me off with his tirade.Finally, after listening to his lecture, I managed to explain that their records would show another name for the car. When I examined the car, I found that it was not even dirty. I cannot speak to the value provided by a $275 detailing job.I know of other body shops that are so clean you feel like taking your shoes off and eating off the floor. I wouldn't take my vehicle to this shop even if the service was free.

This shop was recommended to me. Took my vehicle in for some minor repair. $250 worth. When I went to pick my vehicle up there were brand new scratches and dents. Numerous. Approximately $600 worth. I requested some touch-up paint to cover the scratches but they would not help me. I do not recommend this place

My car needed front-end work. During the pandemic, few body shops are open in uptown and this is one. I went to talk with the owner, who was very dismissive, and then refused to call me back when I provided my number. It seems he has a somewhat low opinion of non-black potential customers. I also got the impression that, whatever he was going to do with my car, it was going to cost a lot more money than other shops because he started talking about computer data, etc.....which is not really that relevant to auto body repair!

I took my car in for two jobs, some door body work and door handle replacement. The quote seemed reasonable and I was told to leave my vehicle for 4 - 5 days. The body work was done very well, no complaints, but was not completed until Day 10! I took the car back without getting the handle fixed because I could not wait any longer. I needed my car. So, the work that was done was very good but it took twice as long as was estimated for no real reason given. There was very little communication from the shop also. I had to call or stop by several times for ongoing updates.

I just got my car back from Chambliss and I am very, very happy with the work Jeffrey and his crew did. It looks amazing. I had several bad scratches on my car and now my car looks like new! My car even came back sparkling clean! They even seemed to clean the inside! I was very impressed! Jeffrey was an absolute pleasure to work with. Super nice guy!! He had originally said it would be done on Friday (I dropped it off on Monday) but it wasn't going to be finished so he came in on Sunday (normally closed) so I would have it back before the start of the week. That was very kind of him! The lady who works at the front desk (I feel bad that I can't remember her name) was also wonderful! She was super helpful and friendly! Thank you very much Jeffrey and the rest of the crew at Chambliss! I will highly recommend you to anyone, without hesitation.

Awful shop, stay away! In the process of making a repair, they damaged other parts on my car and refused to replace them. They claimed the parts had a "bad design", ridiculous. The work is generally shoddy. And the owners seem to be uninterested in doing good work. They are also way too expensive.

Big call out to CHAMBLISS AUTO BODY & REPAIR on Tchoup which saved me over $1000 today. I got an estimate of $1700+ from the Subaru dealership on replacing all the carpet in my Subaru after the sunroof drain clogged & flooded my flooring. That would have all gone into landfill.Chambliss charged me less than $700, they totally detailed my car, cleared air that had gotten in the brakes & caused the emergency light to go on, stripped out, sun-dried & re-installed all my carpet.The owner is so nice, every time I drive by the beautiful color scheme of the building makes me happy & they saved me so much money.10 for this great local small business.

The folks here are some of the nicest most accommodating people! I came in with a broken side door mirror and not only did they take me in that day, but they fixed it quickly and gave me a really thoughtful discount. Their service was really excellent and I appreciated them taking care of me.

Stopped by with car for repair. It got looked at and was told to call in a week to schedule appointment. Called on a Friday and was told to bring in the following Monday. Arranged a ride and brought it by Monday AM. Was told the owner was not in but to leave my number and he would call. Never received a call so I made arrangements with another shop.
