Walked in go be greeted by worker was not letting you in without our vaccination passport (love this)! No vaccination-stay home!!!!Last night I went to see old friends Leroy Jones & Katja. Brought back memories of Donna's (now that was some good times)! Leroy is better than ever in his career! His rendition on Sentimental Mood almost brought me to tears (just beautiful), and Carnivals in town is of course another favorite! Music on point, Exactly what I expected and more. Sound quality could have been a little louder for the bass (what do I know).I venue is on St. Claude the cities newest take over (smiling). Not a fan of the aera but no problems. Several bars near by. Parking well get there early or you will walk a block or two. There is no lot. The place was just right for this intimate event. The air was set to 72 and it was a little warm with the door open (and maybe the libations) LOL! Bathrooms were clean and cute! Unexpectedly there is a kitchen that servers food. The crawfish egg rolls are good. The shrimp tacos and chips and queso were also (add salsa please). The bar is large and has seating. Tenders were prompt and responsive. They have an updated computer system. You can run a tab and you place your order at the bar. They have the fancy buzzers, so when you food is ready it vibrates. There is another room in the back which has seating and a small bar. Not sure what it is used for. All night I witnessed employees picking up trash and keeping the floor clean but no sign of hand sanitizer and no one wiping the table or bar area. Even though we are all vaccinated there is @ 5 % chance someone can catch and spread to non vaccinated. Remember you may not feel sick but that person or person(s) could and worst case parish.Enjoyed my night will return for other Jazz events. *there is a monthly calendar of events.

Looks like live music / shows are slowly starting to come back. Went to Carnaval for the first time (despite recently moving nearby) for a showcase for the Strange Daisy Label! Full disclosure; I don't think I experienced everything the space probably had to offer. But I'll start with the good; really fast service from the bar despite a hectic crowd! Great stage / lighting / atmosphere for the show! Water and cups were freely available for patrons, which is always good practice. Good kitchen in the back: the crawfish "eggrolls" were super weird but yummy, and the dipping sauce they come with is delicious. My partner got the burger, and only complained that it fell apart too quickly. My only real complaint probably isn't even an issue for most people lol. I ordered a G&T and it was undrinkably strong. Typically when I get cocktails it's because I can't stomach the alcohol plain, but literally every sip felt like I was just knocking back straight gin. I actually had to stop drinking and just go get myself a beer! Next time I go here (and there will def be a next time) I plan on sticking with beer the whole time.Definitely worth a visit! Come try to catch a show here if you can.

Not as cool as Siberia, due to the fact that the Polish food was the bomb, but still a cool spot to check out local tunes, and get some cool drinks. You just won't get a beet bloody Mary, like one would pre COVID

The thrash metal bar known as Siberia is no more, and in its place is the new garishly painted Carnaval. The entire barroom has been repainted peacock blue, stripped down decor to only showcase chalkboards featuring food and drink options, with a scattering of vintage Brazilian carnival prints on the opposite wall. The pool table is gone, as is the wallpaper of flyers in the women's (as well as the men's I presume) and in more bold festival colors, clean brightly lit, and numerous private bathrooms take the place of the previous two. (Now four, one is non gender specific.) Drink prices range from $4+ for domestic, beer and shot specials start at $6. An offering of various classic Brazilian cocktails headline the new drink menu. Additionally, a generous offering of Brazilian style street food takes its foothold here with accolades from the staff. Only three stars so far, but there is room for improvement as my visit this evening was short and didn't capitalize on all this venue had to offer.

Very nice (relatively new) venue, easily reached on St Claude. We saw a favored band and enjoyed the atmosphere, fine beverages, good sound, right amount of light. Worth checking out.

A great place to listen to a huge variety of music. Everything I have eaten there has been above average. This is a good place to stop in and to enjoy good food. The prices are very reasonable and the bartenders are extremely friendly.

Carnaval has done so well since opening as far as becoming a nice welcoming space filled with different and excellent food, a variety of drinks at good prices, and in good times it's a great show venue. The owners are wi derail people and almost always on site, giving it a nice family feel. Perfect addition to the neighborhood.

Carnaval is reopened and better than ever with new food options and the return of live music. The menu has shifted to delicious street tacos under the name Birria with some really tasty sides -- definitely try the elote. I think the tacos are currently thursday-sundays until closing, so a great place to grab a late night bite. They also just started up weekly sunday brunch starting at 11 am with some really offbeat food and live music. I had the macaroni and cheese pancakes with fried chicken. Huge portion (too much, actually), very well prepared. There is a $10 cover which goes to support the musicians.
