I was just checking in to see what really is around this little area and was surprised to find that Capdebossq Catering did not have a review yet :( we used this company a couple of times for sandwich vegetable and fruit trays.....the sandwiches are excellent and so worth the extra couple of dollars (under$7 extra) as opposed to other local businesses providing similar trays. Presentation is very nice. I would highly recommend the above mentioned trays, however we ordered the chicken wing platter on a previous occasion and were soooooooo disappointed (sorry ladies) steer clear of these, better to hit up one of the local chicken places......

I want to discuss the performance of Capdeboscq Catering during our wedding. We first met with Capdeboscq Catering on Nov 3rd 2017 for a tasting at their office in Marrero. While there, we were informed that we are to meet with either Gambino's Bakery, Swiss Confectionary or Haydel's. We met with Adrienne Rousse at Gambino's Bakery on March 24th 2018. We were there for a little over an hour, selecting and designing our wedding and groom cakes. We went over several specific details in designing our wedding and groom's cakes. Upon leaving that day we asked Adrienne if there was anything else we need to do. She implied that it was all taken care of. We left assuming, as any reasonable person would, that the cake order was complete. On August 13, 2018, Capdeboscq sent us an E-Mail to make final wedding preparations. In this E-mail they asked us with which bakery we had placed our order. On August 21st, 2018, we responded via E-mail that our order was placed at Gambino's Bakery. It was at this point I wrote Capdeboscq a $7,734.45 check. On our wedding night, I receive a phone call from the Federal Ballroom to inform me that there had been a problem with the cake order. ABSOLUTLY NOTHING HAD BEEN PREPARED! In speaking with Gambino's just two hours before our vows, we were informed that our order status was listed as "pending", it had never been finalized. The best they could do at that point was provide a fake cake and premade sheet cake that would not match our colors or theme. At no point prior to the wedding did Gambino's inform us or Capdebocq that there was a problem with our order. As Gambino's said in their own words "We had a pending wedding order for a 6-8-10 wedding cake and a crawfish pot cake...After more then sixty days, we did not hear back from you or your fiance. We figured you had opted to go with Swiss or Haydels" A competent bakery in a similar situation would have reached out to the couple and/or the caterer to see if they still wanted the wedding cake they meticulously selected.Furthermore, Capdeboscq never contacted Gambino's prior to the night of the wedding to arrange for delivery of our cakes. By the time our caterer realized there was a problem with the wedding and groom's cakes, it was too late. Days later, as we tried to piece together what had happened, Gambino's claimed that there had been a small charge we didn't pay, approximately $200. Yet, they never felt it was necessary to inform anyone of this issue prior to the wedding. Obviously, after having spent nearly $30,000 on a wedding, we would have paid the two hundred bucks to avoid such a calamity had we only known. One would imagine that if a bakery and a caterer had failed to provide the correct wedding and groom's cake, they would be HORRIFIED by such an error. Perhaps they would reevaluate their process, retrain employees (or fire incompetent ones) to ensure that such a mistake never happens again. However, Gambino's and Capdeboscq never seemed to appreciate the severity of their mistake. They were quick to pass blame and downplay the error. It was quite obvious that despite having spent top dollar and planning for over a year, our wedding was really never a priority for either of them. Eventually, after multiple heated phone calls, Capdeboscq did offer a very small refund for their part in the error. Gambino's provided no compensation and neither Gambino's Bakery or Capdeboscq Catering ever provided any form of apology.

I was so disappointed with what I got for the order I received. I ordered meatballs, cocktail sausage, sandwiches, and fried chicken wings for my daughter's Bridal Shower. A short time before the time of the shower I went to set up the food. The meatballs and cocktail sausage were cold in zip lock bags with sauce in containers. The chicken wings cold and looked half cooked. When I called them and asked why my food is cold, I was told you have to specify if you want cold or hot. I think they should have asked me. Anytime I ever ordered catering for a party I received my food ready to be served. I had nothing to warm the food up in. I was totally screwed. The girl that answered the phone told me that she will talk to the owner about giving me a full refund. Well, I never heard back from them!!! The event planner said she will never recommend this company and this place is booked every day!

Capdeboscq catered our daughter's wedding at the Federal Ballroom. From the first time we met with them for the tasting we were wowed! My son in law, after the tasting, kept wanting to have another tasting because the food was so good. We've received so many compliments on the food at the wedding. They outdid themselves! The food was plentiful, very tasty, the right temperature, the options at the bar were fantastic and it was also a pleasure meeting the owner the night of the wedding. Capdeboscq took care of everything and made our daughter's wedding a dream come true.

Delicious food and very amicable people. They served us fresh hot food and for a New Orleans local, it was quite authentic. Can't wait for them to cater our wedding

Highly recommend!! If planning a wedding or event, you can attend their tastings and sample a variety of what they serve. We love their BLT finger sandwiches and the cheese table is a work of art. My son and DIL were married in 2008 and Capdeboscq was their caterer at the Milton H. Latter Library on St. Charles Ave. Then in 2013, my daughter and SIL were married at Destrehan Plantation's Mule Barn and the wedding/reception was part of a FOUR WEDDINGS episode. We were over the top to find out she won and believe me, part of the reason was Capdeboscq's food and service. Mr. Frank was a gem to deal with and was so sorry to hear about his passing. Their seafood gumbo is so delicious!!! There is a reason this family business has been around for decades.

We flew into New Orleans and had a tasting scheduled with Frank. We were very excited because of all the good reviews, but our experience couldn't have been any worse. We were served come "hot" appetizers, that were far from hot and taste like something that came out of a frozen meal. We also didn't have the option of selecting the items we wanted to taste and many of the items that we were given, were things that we wouldn't even have considered having on our wedding menu. Although Frank as a nice guy, whenever we asked him a question about adding different things to the menu, he just fumbled around and couldn't provide a clear answer. We left this tasting very disappointed and agreed that we wouldn't be using this caterer for our wedding. I advise everyone to taste what you get before just booking with this caterer. If you are ok with frozen food that has been reheated, then you will enjoy this food very much. There is a reason they can keep their prices lower than most other caterers in the area, they don't use quality ingredients. Since they are the exclusive caterer to the venue where we wanted to get married, we were forced to book elsewhere when that venue didn't accept that we wanted to bring in another caterer despite our terrible experience. Stay far, far away from Capdeboscq Catering!
