I visited Canseco's recently. I haven't been to one in over 20+ years. This location is quite nice and there was a Bourbon and Wine sampling going on. I'm a Bourbon enthusiast and was delighted by their offerings. I sampled some fine bourbons and whiskeys! This is a FANTASTIC idea for any grocer as I spent 3 times the amount I'd planned. I just felt relaxed and pondered all of their choices. The staff and Management are what makes this place what it is. They are there to assist at a moments notice. Top-notch place to shop for great things to eat and prepare.

Small market with a reasonable size parking lot, though you might want to avoid the lunch hour because they share it with 2 restaurants. Interior is decently lit, it's clean and seems well stocked. This is a review of what I was hoping would be my next favorite store deli lunch plate spot, because it smelled so good and had lots of things I love to eat. Alas, no.Deli staff busy but efficient and friendly. I asked for the brisket (in BBQ/beef juice), green beans and stuffing. Green beans: very good, tasty, seasoned, not bland and not crunchy. Stuffing: uh, seafood stuffing. Wasn't expecting that. Not a fan. Brisket: catastrophic. Three slices about 4"Lx3"W. Took the first bite, and the flavor was SO good! Then my teeth found the fat in the bite in my mouth. Decided to cut all the slices and take off the fat and fatty portions to avoid having to remove it from my mouth after chewing. When I was done, I had about the equivalent of maybe one slice of meat to eat. Needless to say, it was not full at the end of my lunch, and I think the $12.99 price tag on it was tougher to swallow than the meat. :( I didn't ask the price of the plate, but I never imagined a meat and 2 veggies from a store deli would be so expensive.I'll continue to shop for incidentals, but the deli is out for me.

This was my very first time visiting this store. Went there because they had some amazing deals on seafood. However the ad paper had me looking for a box when in actuality I was looking for bags. I came across 3 gentleman stocking and I know I was standing next to them as a customer. However they didn't care they continued on with their conversation on how much they made or not making enough cursing as if myself and other customers weren't next to them. And to the young lady on her phone at the register, please take her out of her misery because it was clear she didn't want to be there. No one was in her line while other lines were backed up. You think she said I'm open come to my line? Not at all, she stood there with her light off on her phone. I will give that the store is very clean and very neat.

I don't like that fact that no gloves are worn when employees fix your hot food . I really wanted that lasagna, but the guy rubbed his face and then went to fix my hood with his bare hands and it turned my stomach. I frequent there . They never put gloves on . That's not cool . Really nice people, but they need gloves in when handling food

Tried to checkout. 1 cashier open. Customer in front of me had a declined credit card. She told the cashier she was going home to get another credit card. Cashier told me, It might be a while. Hard to believe the cashier thought no one else in the store would be able to check out until the lady found a way to pay and returned. I completed the contact form for Canseca's and the reply thanked me for visiting their store. Said the cashier was new and they would speak to him about it. I don't feel good about my experience at Canseca's, and I'm not happy about the reply I received. They won't miss my business. I was just trying to get something to eat. I picked the wrong grocery store. New cashier, not trained, nobody watching him, making bad decisions.

The cutest little locally owned market there ever was! Between offering a variety of fresh fruit, hot food, and sweet desserts, you'll get lost walking up and down the aisles. Reasonable priced market whether you're looking for household items or shopping for ingredients, you'll be impressed with their selection and prices! Definitely try their duck and andouille gumbo, realllllllly good!

I unfortunately didn't catch his name, but the blonde cashier was extremely personable and helpful. It's definitely refreshing to see such friendliness and positive during everything that is going on with COVID. I will be making Canseco's a regular shopping spot.

Selection of products is decent but every aisle is so narrow it's hard for two carts to pass sometimes. Narrow aisles and products stacked everywhere make it had to maneuver through the store and looks cluttered. This in every Canseco's I've tried to shop at.

I've been a customer hers since Sinesio and his wife opened there doors pre Katrina. They have expanded three times during that period so they must be doing something right. You must try their Cuban Sandwich. Get a large and split with friend or wife. Excellent. My new favorite is their boiled shrimp found at the very front of the store. Perfectly seasoned, the shrimp have been running large and easy to peel. At $10.99 a pound, a half pound serving costs $5.50 and is easily enough for lunch and some leftovers. Great with a beer and some remoulade sauce. It would be nice if Canseco's offered home delivery.
