Good : I have eaten at the Cankton Cafe roughly 10-15 times. I have been pleased with the service and food. My kids like the chicken gumbo. The shrimp poboy is made with huge fried shrimp in a row, never seen it done like this, very good. The onion rings are very good. BBQ on Sundays good, get good portions compared to some other local spots. Bad: In the 10-15 times only 1 bad experience. Last time we ordered out, got three burgers all the same. So kept it simple. Unfortunately, every burger was burnt. This threw me for a loop! So I called and let them know. They did not try to make things right. But the gentlemen did say he would look into it. LolBut I will say I wish this never happened because the food is usually good!I am new to the yelp app and have to admit I do not want or like to post negative reviews. But with current prices the way they are I feel it is necessary to receive good service when good $$$$ is paid.Rock on Cankton Cafe ! And go easy on the cook, sometimes we all have bad days!

Went for lunch special. Chicken fried steak. Thought it would be fresh. Nope frozen. Boxed mashed potatoes. Chemicals in seasonings. Do not recommend.

First time to enjoy this quaint little place. The food was so good with adequate portions. Wait stag was pleasant and took care of our needs in a timely fashion. Will definitely return next time we are in the area. Glad it was recommended to us by the hotel staff.

Visiting friends in area and they recommended. Great crawfish boil. Home made onion rings. Crab legs. A crab cake sandwich. Fried catfish smothered in etoufee. All were excellent. They have other Cajun specialties plus traditional country favorites like fried chicken or shrimp. I saw another customer get grilled shrimp and it looked delicious. Everything we got was excellent and service was good.
