Great seafood gumbo!!! People are nice n respectful and I had nothing bad out of there. Great food!!!

I've been here many times and it is hit or miss. During crawfish season this place is great, but that's the only thing that deserves 5 stars. This place has been around forever. There aren't many choices around here so Im sure I will be back. On this we arrived around 5pn and were told to seat wherever we wanted. The waitress was friendly and quickly took our ordered and returned with our drinks. I chose the crab meat augratin. It was quite possibly the worst thing I've ever tasted. It was mostly lumpy floury goop. I looked for the crab but couldn't find much. Never again will I order this ... It was horrible. My fiance ordered a fried fish poboy and he enjoyed it. Maybe next time I'll get a sandwich.

I'm guessing that Camile's Restaurant is just one of those places where it's either going to be a hit or a miss when it comes to they type of dining experience that you may have. I know many of my friends are wondering why on earth I was even in the middle of nowhere Erwinville, LA but they were in the passing of a road trip to New Orleans!On our way back to Dallas, TX my friend suggested that we stop and get some food but at least call it in ahead of time so we can eat quickly. Once we called and placed our order we were quoted about 25-30 minutes to have everything ready which was okay being that was approximately how far we were anyways. When we walked in our order was ready which was a plus but the question is how early did they actually have this done because my food was luke warm.. The steam from the to-go box dripped on my fried seafood combination platter which of course caused certain pieces to be soggy. If you are curious what this dinner includes: 4 Shrimp, 4 Oysters, 4 Catfish Fillets, and 6 Crab fingers all for $20.. Was it worth it? Nope.. My friends said that their orders were just okay as well so right there in the middle 3 stars is as good as it gets.

Stopped here on my way to Florida.. Great food.. great price.. Very nice staff would definitely stop in again if in town. Would recommend to anyone.

I came here driving on a trip to Louisiana and they said they have great seafood and this was the first place I stopped. Portions are undistributed, asked service member how big platter was and they were dishonest with me saying that it was big, it indeed was not big at all, this is a big scam the prices are sky high and on top of that it was fried seafood with no warning and they put fries under all of the seafood to make the portion look big. Waitress did not give us good service and forgot about silverware. The final price was over $100 and it's unacceptable. Do not go here, it's ruining the Louisiana reputation.

Stinky mushy foul boiled shrimp.Just don't do it.My hands reeked after eating. It was over seasoned, maybe to cover the poor quality of the food.Complaint received a $5 discount on a $22 order.There's much better places to go for seafood in Louisiana!Update: needed Pepto and had an awful day after.

After waiting an hour for our food while sitting at the bar we asked for it to be boxed up to go. All of a sudden it was ready to go in 5 min. Waitress asked my husband if he was mad. Obviously we were but did not acknowledge it because we didn't want them to mess with our food. We are a mixed race couple. IYKYK.

Good service and food friendly staff for travel dine in and more to take out and drink

We went here for Mother's Day. (It was the 3rd time we had dined here) There were 5 of us in our party, 3 adults and 2 children. We ordered 3 entrees, an appetizer, soft drinks, and a piece of pie, which they ended up being out of. The service was extremely slow. (We arrived at about 4 PM and there were only 2-3 other tables) our check finally came and it was over $100. They had added a 20% gratuity. We asked why since there was only 5 of us. (My son has autism and wanted to eat when he got home, and my mother had already eaten and just got the pie) They said that they thought we might have 6 people so they automatically added it. My husband pointed out that there clearly wasn't 6 people at our table and we had not ordered food for 6 people. They told us that it was too late to take it off the bill that we should have told them before we ordered that we didn't have 6 people. My husband questioned their claim that they couldn't take it off and the manager demanded to know how much of a tip we had planned on leaving to begin with. She refused to take the gratuity off of our bill and we were forced to pay it.
