I was told you probably won't see any alligators in December so I had no expectations. To everyone's delight we saw 4 small alligators. The big ones are already hibernating. We also saw wild pigs, raccoons, birds, and a black squirrel. I learned that the swamp is the water and bayou is referring to the land around the swamp.Caption Danny passed around two tiny turtles for us to see in their enclosures. He also passes around a baby alligator for us to hold and take pictures with. That was a total surprise.I highly recommend this tour to others. The tour takes place in a flat bottom boat and doesn't rock at all so I didn't get motion sickness. There is also a roof overhead to keep the wind and sun out. It was in the 50's today and it wasn't that chilly. I also had on a beanie, sweater and jacket so I was dressed for the weather, but I thought it would be cooler on the water but it wasn't.

We paid extra for a pick up option and was not picked up!! Waited for 45 mins at pick up location that was provided and confirmed with the Activity host and no one was here to pick us up! Claiming driver was here between the pick up time, waiting for 10 mins and called me several times. After making it known I received no calls, they proceeded to say they called "the office"? Okay, benefit of the doubt for the driver, say they were at the pick up location, the pick up time (which was doubled checked and confirmed with Activity host) was between 10:30AM until 11AM. The driver would then need to be here until at least 11AM to fulfill the pick up time frame. So, if the drivers story holds water they would have had to be here from 11AM waiting until 11:10AM. If that is the case, we would have been picked up because we were waiting in front on the curb of the lobby of the Hotel Troubadour from 10:27AM. We were asked to be changed to a later tour time today, but could not bc we have other obligations. "Another day?" We leave tomorrow. Had high hopes for this but requesting a refund and/or disputing this charge.

This is a family friendly tour I definitely recommend. My girls even got to hold a baby alligator. They were so excited! Brandon was able to tell us more about the swamp, animals and history of the area. It is a slow ride on a big pontoon boat so there isn't any motion sickness and we were able to see alligators, raccoons, squirrels and a litter of baby wild pigs.

For a 1.5 hour tour that doesn't stray far from the dock, Brandon did an excellent job of making it interesting and enjoyable. First of all, Brandon (a tour operator) has a thick Louisianna accent that you hope to hear in this area. And he's hilarious, cracking perfectly timed jokes right and left. Reserving tickets online, check in was very easy once we parked in the spacious gravel lot. After waiting a few minutes and seeing alligators near the waiting area, we boarded a boat with around 30 other passengers. Brandon gave us a lesson of alligators and crocodiles and a little history of a nearby town that got destroyed by a hurricane in 1915. He points out different alligators, racoons, turtles, and fish. At one point, he stops and gets the alligators to come up to the boat to feed up close. At the very end, he passes around a skinned alligator head and a real baby alligator for all to hold. My seven-year-old daughter loved that part.Brandon was great and you can tip via cash or Venmo at the end.The main center has picnic tables, clean restrooms, and a gift shop full of alligator-related trinkets.

I had no idea what to expect, but this tour was worth every penny. I've never been so close to an alligator in my life. I saw them eat chicken. My sister even held a baby gator. It was such a cool experience. I would highly recommend this tour.

We had a fabulous time on our swamp/Oak Alley combo tour. The swamp tour was better than I anticipated, and the guide was very funny and knowledgeable. Unfortunately I didn't get his name but he was hilarious!Oak Alley was informative and beautiful, and I appreciate that they didn't shy away from the slavery aspect of the home's history. However, the best part of the day was our driver, Big Joe! He was such a pleasure and we couldn't have asked for a better driver! He was so knowledgeable about everything NOLA and Louisiana, pointing out architecture, historical facts, even identifying bald eagle nests in the swamp! He'd even created a playlist that he played for now passengers to engage the trip, we downloaded it and it's amazing! The entire day was great but Big Joe made it so much more special!

Wow, we had such an incredible experience with Brandon as our tour guide! He was absolutely amazing and a wealth of knowledge. Not only did he make us feel extremely comfortable, but he also showed us the fascinating ecosystem in the bayou. It was really nice. We had the opportunity to encounter many alligators, and we even got to witness him feeding a few of them. And let me tell you, it was quite the experience! Oh, and I can't forget to mention Rick, our bus driver. He was also incredibly informative. Such a friendly and enjoyable trip!
