My family and I had a fantastic dining experience at Café Josephine in Sunset, Louisiana. We went specifically for oysters and steak, and the food did not disappoint! We started with two dozen oysters, which were fresh and delicious--such a great way to kick off the meal. Our server, Megan, was amazing and took excellent care of our table, ensuring we had everything we needed. While we did face a minor issue with flat sodas (caused by the carbonation system being out, even though the restaurant uses canned drinks), the manager went above and beyond to make it right. Not only did they address the situation, but they also generously offered free dessert because of the wait on our lamb chops entrée--a thoughtful gesture that wasn't necessary but deeply appreciated. As for the food: the crab and corn bisque I ordered was incredible--rich, meaty, and packed with flavor. I also tried the steak, which was perfectly cooked and literally melted like butter in my mouth. And the lamb? A solid 10/10. It was tender, flavorful, and worth the wait.Overall, the service and food were top-notch. Café Josephine is a gem, and we'll definitely be back for another memorable meal!

Super delicious, menu was creative and service was great. The ambience was quaint and warm and we would absolutely go back! The biscuits that come out as you sit are incredible!! Drinks were great and we had an overall good time even in a big party of 8 people we had no trouble getting in and seated.

Great hidden gem! We started with the grilled oyster trio and they were all amazing. My husband doesn't love spinach but really liked the spinach and bacon ones. He got an Old Fashioned. Upgraded the whiskey and it was delicious, only it didn't come on a big rock. I had a French 75 which was also good but it was not chilled. For dinner he got the seafood pasta and loved it. The portion was crazy big. I had the eggplant and it was perfect. I didn't opt for the additional noodles and I'm glad I didn't because I had plenty. Biscuits were fresh out of the oven and were a treat. We finished our meal with bread pudding which we both agreed was fluffier than most places and it was also very tasty. We had a nice night with great service. I would definitely return.

Ordered panini. Didn't have ingredients to make sandwich. Ordered gumbo. Can't even say how much I disliked. And I know good gumbo. Got burger and onion rings. Burger great. Onion rings were not hot. Pet peeve.

Wish I could give more stars. Everything we had was culinary perfection. Great menu with lots of choices, something for everyone. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Good parking. Nice ambiance, perfect for a casual family dinner or a dressy date night. Appetizers were great, and entrees were unforgettable. This place will have you always wanting to go back. Can't wait for our next visit!

Went for our year anniversary and Cafe Josephine did NOT disappoint. My husband and I have separately traveled all over the world and yet the best steak we have ever had was here. We both got the filet mignon and it was so velvety smooth that you could cut it with a fork! Our server, Macy, was FABULOUS! She was knowledgeable about the specials and knew what we were going to ask before we asked it. Amazing experience all the way around. 10/10 would do again.

We were some of the first customers on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was pretty full within the first hour. We were greeted and seated by friendly staff and enjoyed great service throughout our time there. My husband and I shared the oyster trio. Very delicious! He had the wedge salad and I had the bisque. Both fresh and delicious. We weren't super hungry but I noted some things I'd like to try from the menu on our next visit. Great little spot worth getting off the beaten path to experience a nice meal.

Terribly disappointed. So looking forward to the crab cakes, but they were seasoned way too spicy to enjoy the delicate crab meat. It was loaded with crab meat but they were tiny and way too expensive-$44.00 with two sides, if you can call grilled tomato a side. The most horrendous entree we had was the Prime Rib Cap steak. Market price ...$84.99!!!! Totally ridiculous. My husband loves spicy food, but this steak was so highly seasoned he couldn't eat it. We should have asked the price first but we had looked on line beforehand and it was $30 less! Then, an extra order of asparagus came out as we were ready to leave! On top of all this disappointment, we waited over 45 minutes for our meals because our waiter said " so sorry but someone picked up your steak by mistake." Really?! We will never return.
