"Friendly staff -100% they welcomed and helped us. Very professional. Cleanliness-100%Food- 100% I have attended few parties in here and never disappointed me. They impressed all the time. This place is on my list for recommendation."
"I have been to this facility twice in the last month for Zulu krewe parties. The Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club is the largest predominantly African-American Krewe in New Orleans which was initially a benevolent aid society. The origin of the Zulus dates back to the early 1900s when the Mardi Gras celebrations themselves were segregated. In 1949, Louis Armstrong was chosen as King and saw it as an honor despite the belief by some that parading black face further influenced racial stereotypes. Anyone who has been to "the parade" on Mardi Gras Day can attest the krewe of Zulu, their elected characters and riders REALLY know how to have a good time. The partying, though year round, typically intensifies 60 days before Fat Tuesday. The convocation center has quite the reputation as well. This renovated gymnasium was formally known as "The Barn" at Xavier University. There are three nearby parking lots and the building is rather spacious. The last event (1/16/16) was easily able to accommodate more than 2,500 guests with tables, chairs, dance floor and a stage. A good time was certainly had by all. It seems, the building is rented out for private events including concerts and sporting events. I would not go so far as to say it is nicer or as nice as renting hotel space for a cocktail event, but it is undoubtedly a more affordable option. Particularly if you can stomach looking at those black and gold chairs up top."
"My boyfriend and I are new to town and we have been trying all the local spots. Tonight we came to Blend for a quick drink. The FUQUA SMASH -- ( bourbon, blackberry, raspberry, lemon) was so refreshing and had perfectly balanced flavors. Ill definitely be back for another. We left after our drinks. Well, a few hours later we were in the mood for something sweet, and we had saw a great dessert on their menu- so we decided to head on back to blend. When we arrived we were informed that the kitchen was unfortunately closed for the evening. Just as we were leaving to go home- the chef ( who was off work mind you) got off her barstool and said she would go make me some dessert!!!!!! I mean, she didn't have to do that, i was just speechless. How awesome is that!?!!! I didn't catch her name, but I wish I did because I want to say THANK YOU and express my gratitude. The Gelato was phenomenal. It was more than just Gelato- Blueberry Gelato with Brown Butter Cake and Hazelnut Crumble. To die for. Thank you so much Joey and the super sweet chef for accommodating us! You have made loyal customers of us and we will be back!!!!"
"Spent a couple days here to attend a weeding and enjoyed the grounds, restaurants, and River Road. Very unique lodging. Great place to host a small or larger event. Dixie restaurant open for breakfast buffet that is 5 star and lunch. Carriage house restaurant is a fancy or fancy casual and food is very good. Bar is very unique. Historic property from early 1800s. It has a museum but we didn't get time to visit. Lodging is small connected houses approximately one hundred meters from the restaurants and museum. Very nicely appointed and comfortable. Not inexpensive at about $350 per night. Riverboats dock here on Friday and Sunday."
"This place is delicious and adorable and I can't believe how empty it was on a Saturday afternoon! Then again, the restaurant is huge. The room with big windows overlooking St. Charles Avenue is sunny and great for people watching. There are also several round tables perfect for large groups, and a giant patio area for waiting or cocktail sipping. My friend and I shared a pitcher of top shelf (Herradura silver) margaritas, which were fresh and well balanced. The salsa trio wasn't my favorite, but I would like to return and try the queso, which based on other reviews has apparently been revamped and improved. I had the brisket enchiladas and my friend had the tamales and we both cleaned our plates. Both came with a generous portion of green rice and black beans. Please visit Nolé - I really want this place to make it!!"
"We'hosted our daughter's engagement party and a few months later, her bridal tea! At Chez Felicite. We chose to have the Bridal tea there because we were so delighted with the engagement party. Both experiences created such wonderful memories.i can not think of any negatives with either experience. The ambiance was amazingly wonderful and thought and time had been spent by Brenda and Daisy to make the decor reflect the couples tastes and interests. Dr Mike and Brenda are the top one percent of hosts. Everyone felt very welcomed into their home. The catered food was so fantastic, that we didn't have the left overs we planned for.On both occasions my husband and I spent the night along with other family members. We enjoyed ourselves so much and the breakfast each morning was just so yummy. Those were our first two experiences at Chez Felicite, but I guarantee it won't be our last."
"What a fantastic little spot! Fellow Yelper Jeff C. suggested that we try this place and since I had heard a lot of good things about it, I was down. This cozy little restaurant on Tchoupitoulas is the perfect spot for a date night or a celebration. We made reservations for 8, and although we were a few minutes late, we were seated immediately upon arrival. We were given our menus and we ordered some wine. Looking over the menu, I immediately knew what I wanted. I have been on quite the grits kick lately, so when I saw that they offered catfish and grits, I knew that was the dish for me.As a starter we decided to get the scallops, which were pan seared with butter, lemon, croutons and capers. I'm normally not a HUGE fan of scallops (it's a texture thing), but I am always willing to try food that I haven't liked before prepared in a different way. My experiment paid off because these scallops were delicious. They were flavorful and I really liked them a lot. The capers and butter created a nice sauce for them and I didn't think about the texture once!Next came the catfish and grits. Check out my picture- this dish was just beautiful. The catfish was crispy and fried to perfection and the grits were nice and firm and not watery at all. The smoothness of the grits was a perfect compliment to the fish and I was sure to get a little bit of both in every bite. I really can't say enough about this part of the meal and I was beside myself happy. Finally, we really decided to indulge and we treated ourselves to the chocolate mousse. This delicious concoction of whipped light chocolate came in a small chocolate shell bowl. The mousse was delectable and light and was the perfect conclusion to the meal. I also liked the presentation. I posted a picture- it really is a work of art.The staff was very attentive the entire time and was quick to refill the wine glasses and clear the plates when necessary. I was really very pleased with the entire experience and I think that Tomas Bistro might be one of my new favorite dinner spots in the city.I would absolutely go back and I am now hungry for more catfish and grits."
"It was getting late and we (Big Bro, Hubbers and me) decided to stop at one more place for a nightcap. We got pulled here because of the live band playing a song we were all familiar with. This place is deceivingly big! One would expect its space ending at the bar, but nope... there's a whole foyer in the back if your ears need a bit of rest. Bathrooms are located back there, too (and it's one of the cleaner bar bathrooms I've been to compared to the many bars I hit while in NOLA.) Drinks are fairly priced and they are generous with the amount of alcohol in my cocktails! Bartender was nice, so with the bouncer. We liked it here so much we came back once more a couple of days later. Good times! Will be back!"
"I attended a workshop here this week and have mostly good things to say about the facility. First off, I had no idea it existed, do it was a nice surprise. It's located near Lakeside Mall in Metairie and shares a parking lot with other businesses in the building. Parking was a breeze the morning I was there. When I arrived I was pleased with the attentive service I received from the staff. They had breakfast service set up buffet style and the food was good. Almost as soon as I sat down, I of course spilled my water. I swear, I'm as messy am eater as a 3 year old. As I was looking for napkins an employee noticed what was going on and swooped in to clean up. Lunch service was much the same. It was a health insurance seminar, so they were challenged to find appropriate foods, and did a pretty decent job. Deli sandwich fixings and gumbo. I might have gone with a grilled chicken and veggies option and maybe offered brown rice with the gumbo. Their options were very tasty though. The staff was good about clearing the tables and they were friendly. The room is large and was very clean. There were a few chandeliers and there was an available stage area. The bathrooms were adequate and clean, but there were no paper towels available. All in all it's a nice space. Sort of a blank canvas that, with some decorating, probably dresses up nicely. It was perfect for the daytime event that I attended."
"I see the reviews and I am sorry to hear BUT please bear in mind folks it is a TON of work to run an old hotel, to regain ur confidence/labor post covid. I'm a boutique hotel fanatic and bitch foodie. And I will state, hands down, this is the only place I want to stay. Why? Service #1, particularly the amazing Davi in accounting. Then my beautiful room w balcony overlooking the gorgeous pool. Finally the sweet restaurant/bar that serves me almost anything I req inside or at the pool. Finally the awesome live music. And if you wanna party and come back to quiet ? Yup - this is your spot ! Thank you Maison Dupuy Hotel ! See you soon!"
"This place is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. I contacted them to book for my bridal shower. A deposit was paid months in advance with the balance due 2 weeks before the event. We called and wrote them constantly and got no response. Finally we finally got an answer 1 month before the event and spoke to the owners son or relative. Due to COVID we were told by the owners son that we could only have 25 guests, he also told us to wait until closer to see if we still wanted to have the event. More time passed and we contacted them again to say were going to cancel and get our deposit back. This time we spoke to the owner and she was refusing to give us any money back stating they could not refund us because we waited until 2 weeks before to cancel. We explained they have not been answering (a google number) and we spoke to her son and gave her the information that was communicated to us. She bluntly said "I told my son not to tell anyone we could refund them" that was not our fault nor our concern. I explained to her that that is a conversation between them and the agreement was a verbal one and she should honor it. She was supposed to call us back to reach an agreement and we did not hear anything until the week of the event. She said she will not refund us because she will be losing money. I urge you if you value your hard earned money and time this is NOT the venue for you. I support black owned businesses all the time but is one I will NEVER recommend anyone, not even my worse enemy."
"Serving PB & J daily since 1988.Needed a convenient location for a med school graduation. Le Pavillion has location, location, location. So easy to walk to the university med center campus and then the convention center for the commencement ceremony. A short walk to the Riverwalk, the New Orleans Holocaust Memorial and The Cabildo House. The rooms were comfy, although the beds were a bit too soft. Would have liked to have had bottled water to make hot tea or coffee in the room, but there is a self serve machine behind the checkin desk to make a chai latte or a cappuccino. Nice peekaboo view of the Crescent City Connection bridge from our seventh floor room.Loved the cute PB & J Tradition. Apparently a guest ordered a late night glass of cold milk from the bartender and shared that he always drank a glass of milk and ate a PB & J sandwich with his daughter. To feel close to her even when he was away, he still drank a glass of cold milk. The staff was so touched by this sweet story that they made him a PB & J sandwich to go with his glass of milk. Today, you can enjoy a PB & J snack from 4-5 daily served with a cold glass of whole or chocolate milk in the lobby near the bar. A little something extra. Parking is available via valet. Intentionally booked a room that included overnight parking, otherwise it would have been $51 per night. Convenient location on Poydras. About a 15 minute walk to the Quarter, the convention center and the med school."

The vibe here is always grown and sexy . I love it here. There's a lot of space and there's a lot of privacy as well. The lighting is nice and dim and the food is amazing. Their drinks or off the chain and there's lots of variety. Perfect place for dating, girls night out, bachelorette or bachelor's party, meetings, or birthday celebrations.

Two things to tour here. The Museum was a great surprise. Well done. Variety of featured informative exhibits. And all of the furniture was absolutely jaw dropping. The gardens are beautiful with sculptures and swans and peacocks. The Houma house itself was gorgeous. Our tour guide was well versed in the history of the house and very funny.

I went to Nole' with high hopes but left feeling let down. This is how it went.:We were greeted warmly and seated right away. Our waiter came by within a couple of minutes with menus and gave us a quick rundown of customer favorites. I ordered a red sangria, blue crab street corn, and an avocado salad with grilled shrimp. Our drinks were delivered to our table pretty quickly, but our corn and salad took about 25 minutes. As it was very busy and things were taking a while, we placed our taco order and hoped they'd make it to us quickly. They did.Now for the food rundown. My sangria was delicious! Sweet, and fruity - lots of citrus flavor. The blue crab street corn was ok, but where was the crab? We were scratching our heads. The avocado salad was good. The dressing was light and fresh - but an avocado salad should have lots of avocado. There were only a few tiny cubes of avocado and the grilled shrimp were undercooked. The oyster tacos each had just one oyster and they were cold. Not lukewarm either - they were cold. The carnitas tacos were just as cold. The flavor of the tacos was excellent, but I have an issue with cold fried seafood. Our black beans and green rice were warm, but I had literally about 3 beans in my bowl (lots of juice/gravy) and the rice was brown, not green. Please know that our waiter seemed to be doing his best. He was really busy and we saw him flit from table to table. I showed him that there were no beans in my bowl and he looked like a deer in the headlights. No "I'm sorry" or offer to get me another bowl. Just nothing. We didn't complain about anything else. Everyone's food seemed to be taking forever and we really just wanted to go.

It's been nearly 24 hours since my experience at Tomas Bistro and I'm honestly still in a state of euphoria. I would have to rocket this pleasure palace to the top of my list of "must try" in New Orleans. When choosing a restaurant to celebrate an important milestone birthday, one must choose wisely. Especially in the New Orleans CBD where there are an abundance of restaurants to pick from. Not only do you have to think about the food, what type of atmosphere you're looking for, and you've definitely got to consider parking. Tomas Bistro has it all! Amazing food, delightful atmosphere, and valet parking at an unbelievably reasonable price. My family and I arrived and were told we could choose where we would like to sit, and so we decided to sit near the front door. Our waiter arrives at the table and being the eccentric person that I can't help being I recognize a face from the past. Just so happens both my brother and I went to high school with this particular waiter, and believe me when I say that was a lifetime ago, but let's not go there. He was an excellent waiter and took very good care of us throughout our meal. And onto the meal.... To begin we were interested in a bottle of white wine, but not sure exactly which to order. The waiter recommended Macon-Villages which is a Chardonnay, and may I say it's excellent! He let us taste the wine before we purchased the bottle which was very helpful. A few of the notable items we ordered were lobster brie soup, goat cheese stuffed crepes topped with crawfish sauce, duck Julia, and a special entrée of the day which was trout topped with jumbo lump crab meat and paired with purple mashed potatoes and spaghetti squash. One item that really stood out for me was the lobster brie soup. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's a little bowl of pure bliss. It was a special soup for the evening, so they don't always have it. If your there, and it's available, don't pass it up.In between courses and conversation we asked the hostess about the restaurant and learned it's been open about two years and also learned the same owner also owns two of the restaurants directly across the street. Not too long after we asked the owner happened to walk in, and just so happens we were at "his" table. Apparently he usually comes in to eat and always sits where we happened to be dining. Low and behold he comes to our table! By this point we are already very content and have thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My mom goes on to tell him how much we have enjoyed everything, and we are there celebrating my birthday. With no hesitation he looks at me and asks me if I enjoy champagne. I say "Yes Sir I do". He had glasses of champagne sent over to us and took care to talk to the chef to prepare dessert for all of us to celebrate properly. It was such an unexpected and kind gesture. It really topped off a very memorable evening and a wonderful birthday celebration.

My friends and I stopped in here for a couple drinks a couple months ago while we were in NO and it was a pretty cool bar. When we walked in, there was a guy playing piano and singing. I'm not a fan of live music at a bar but he was really good and he tickled them ivory's really nice. They have a great selection of local brews. I tried a couple and they were really good. The service both upstairs and downstairs were fast. The upstairs has a balcony over Bourbon Street so it was fun to be up there for an hour or so and people watch. All in all, this was one of our favorite Bourbon Street bars and we went there a couple times. If I'm on Bourbon Street again, I'd happily go back.

"Sooo, this place is phenomenal to host any tasteful event. It's spacious with lots of separate areas to mingle and have private conversations. I like the beverage area and the entire atmosphere gives off a semi-elegant vibe. I met with Sasha and she was very friendly and helpful. The location isn't bad, it appears quiet with easy access to parking. Our quoted costs associated with the rental fees was quite high considering the type of food available. You also cannot bring any outside food into the building for your event as it's catered only through the establishment. That's not a problem but the food is quite limited and not enough options to choose from with the first two-three plans. Those are just finger foods. They provide the tables, table coverings, chairs, setup and tear down for $7,000, so I guess that's a great price for all they're doing. The fee includes taxes $400, gratuity $712, credit card fee $125. So, a $5,660 rental fee with catering ended up being close to $7,000. So, essentially, our quote equates to $700 per hour for an event of 120 ppl for 10 hours. It's a nice place but the costs just depends on your budget."
"Attended a friend's wedding reception here on Saturday afternoon. Man..I do not have enough good things to share about this venue! First, the owners are so sweet and Vanessa (venue coordinator) does an amazing job selling this place to any local couple looking to get hitched! Second..FREE PARKING! That is why I adore Metairie so much. Never have to worry about finding a parking spot here. Third, the service is impeccable. Always spot on and ready to handle any size event. The staff is so friendly and hospitable. Fourth, the cuisine. The food and beverage options are always great. Wide variety of options for any guest to choose from. This place really hit it off from the start due to the wedding was a "semi-dry" wedding and the bar had so many fun non-alcoholic options for guests of all sorts to enjoy. I really loved that touch for the staff to respect the bride and groom's choices. If you are ever looking for an affordable, great service, great atmosphere venue to host your event of any sort, choose The Balcony."
"Very nice venue. Came here this weekend for a friend's wedding. The ceremony was outside, underneath some oak trees (very Savannah-esque actually) and then the reception was inside, which was also very beautiful. The food was good as well (I chose the chicken dish) and the service was also very efficient. My only mini complaint is that to get to the venue, you have to walk a bit ... Normally not an issue, but with the majority of us wearing heels or at least wedges, my feet are complaining a bit today. Otherwise, I'd love to get married here myself some day (if I lived in the South!) and I highly recommend it."
"This was my second event at Compass Point and I have mixed feelings. It's an outdoor venue in Algiers very near the river, and as it's January it was a little cool outside. We entered through the gate and walked along the concrete path to the main area. No one from the venue welcomed us or gave us any direction even though there were 2 employees smoking in the street right near the entrance. There are several small buildings located on the perimeter of the yard and then there's a floored area/dance floor. The bar is located outside on an upstairs porch in another building with a very steep set of wooden stairs. Hmm. The bar = alcohol, the steep, damp wooden steps = slippery. Bar + steep, damp wooden steps = bad fall. I heard several people say this and I agree. Next was the chill. You'd think they'd put out some outdoor heaters, but none were on for the 1 1/2 hours we were there last night. Luckily they had bug spray on the bar because there were mosquitos biting. Now the good - The ladies who were waking around passing hors d'oeuvres were wonderful. They were friendly and seemed genuinely happy to meet the guests. The passed hors d'oeuvres were delicious. Fried duck, fried crab pies, fried boudin balls, fried vegetarian egg rolls, tuna tartar. The venue is beautiful. The string lights in the oak tress add a magical touch. I think I'd probably enjoy an event there more on a warmer, drier day."
"While looking for a place to eat on Bourbon Street, we came across Bourbon House which had some seating in the bar area near the hotel lobby. We had to wait a bit to get the waiter to clear the table for us to sit but finally got to sit down and get some drinks. I had the Magazine drink which was good and ended up ordering the Bourbon Shrimp & Grits for dinner (made gluten free). I liked it. Service could have been a little faster but overall I enjoyed the food and drinks. The restaurant atmosphere definitely would've been better compared to the bar so plan in advance."
"I'm pretty sure I ate in a restaurant in this location about a million years ago but it's been a reception hall for the last couple of decades. I definitely attended a wedding here earlier this month. And it was really fun.I liked that there were different spaces to move through from the main room/bar to the atrium to the outdoor courtyard (a little chilly in November but lovely). The food was really good (made in house) and the staff was friendly and helpful. The wedding was held in the courtyard and the party was throughout the space. The bride and groom said they were great to work with and everything was smooth sailing. As an attendee, it was a lovely space to enjoy."
"The Mrs. and I spent four nights at the Omni Royal Orleans. We arrived on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 26th. Michelle checked us in and let us know that our room wasn't yet so we had the Bellman hold our luggage while we explored the area.Shortly after 2 p.m. I received a text that our room was ready. We were assigned room 503. Which is a petite queen room and petite it was. Almost miniature. We've stayed in rooms on cruise ships bigger than 503. I have to say it was maybe 200 square feet. We were literally bumping into the wall walking through the door. The bathroom did not have any counter space so it was a balancing act as far as where we put our toiletries. We ended up spending one night in room 503 because we woke up to a rattling door which opened up into a rattling hallway. Not kidding. So the Mrs. asked me to work my magic and see about an upgrade. I went downstairs and spoke to Sardoz at the front desk. I asked about upgrading to a king room and he let me know it would be an additional $61 a night. I returned and told the Mrs. She called the front desk and asked if the rattling in the door could be fixed. Shortly after she ended her call, Sardoz called and offered a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe queen room. We were then moved to room 253. A much larger and more comfortable room. Abra cadabra! Poof! Once again, the magic of kindness and treating people with respect worked. Hposekeeping is offered daily but our room was never touched during out entire stay. It was a bit frustrating when housekeeping knocked on our door at 4:30 p.m. asking if we needed anything. I don't know if it was a staffing issue or if staff was on NOLA time but I've never stayed in a hotel that did housekeeping very late in the day.We didn't dine at the Rib Room which is the hotel restaurant, however; I did have a drink at the bar. Drink prices were very reasonable considering the area and hotel brand. The bartenders were friendly and talkative. Overall the staff was friendly and helpful. You can't beat the location. The Omni sits on St. Louis Street between Charters and Royal. Jackson Square and Cafe Du Monde is less than two blocks behind the hotel and Bourbon Street is on block over. You are within walking distance of many really good restaurants an entertainment venues. At night, the entire area glows with the flickering magic of gas lamps and the sound of music. Although, the Mrs. and I could hear this Calliope music that made us VERY uncomfortable. It could be heard all over the city and we could never figure out where it was coming from. We heard it at random times during the day and night.Getting to and from the airport was easy. DO NOT take Uber or Lyft from the airport. When you walk out of the terminal, take a right and you'll see a taxi stand. Taxi fare to and from the airport into New Orleans is a flat $36 for two passengers. I believe it is another $10 of $15 for each additional passenger. Needless to say, you don't get smacked with surge pricing depending on the time of day you leave. And now, a brief history of the Omni Royal Orleans. The Omni Royal Orleans made its debut in 1960 as the Royal Orleans and is listed with the National Trust for Historic Preservation as one of the Historic Hotels of America. The hotel itself has lineage going back the early 19th century, when New Orleans was rapidly becoming one of the nation's most important ports. Thousands of merchants moved their products into the city, given its prime location at the mouth of the Mississippi River. Steamboats and sailing ships docked in New Orleans' bustling wharfs, delivering goods like sugarcane and cotton. Not all commerce was good, as the New Orleans community was also deeply invested in the national slave trade. Dozens of auction houses operated within the city that saw the distribution of slaves throughout the American South. Among the places where slave trading occurred regularly was at The City Exchange, which stood where the Omni is, where many slaves were auctioned off to prospective buyers every week. This operation fortunately shutdown in the early 1830s, when aspiring hotelier James Hewlett decided to use the location for the site of a grand hotel."
"Getting right off of a plane and being able to do a happy hour with half off oysters and $5 margaritas. What more can you ask for? We ordered right at the bar and then got a number and found a table. I was actually really surprised that we found a table because a game was going on and it was pretty packed. The food came out really fast and was delicious. I got the half off oyster platter with a variety of oysters and the cheese fries. And the fries were waffle fries and they were delicious. My friend got a gin drink that looked amazing and I contemplated that after having one of the margaritas. I really enjoyed the happy hour here and would suggest anybody going back. Other things on the menu looked good but for half off an oyster platter I'm all in."
"This place is a 10/10! It is such a fun crew and they have great music. Recommend definitely!!!"
"Surprise stop on the party bus! Although this was a quick stop, I definitely loved the atmosphere and vibe of this play. Good music, good food, and good drinks. Next time I'm in Nola, I will make sure to find my way back to Treme Hideaway!"
"I attended a Quinceanera at this venue and was pleasantly surprised by its size, location and decor. It could easily accommodate a few hundred people standing and approximately 200 with tables and chairs. For the party, there was plenty of space for tables, a food area, fruit table, dessert table and photo booth without crowding the DJ's space. There's also a pool table in a rear room. Pros: location, size, layout and lighting. Cons: Temperature in warmer weather, bar service I deducted a star because it was stuffy/AC wasn't ideal for its size with a smaller group of people. The other less than ideal aspect was the bar. The bartender didn't know how to make a rum punch and didn't have flavors for it. For gin, there was no tonic. Certain mixers should be standard with a hall serving adult beverages. If you're looking to host a bridal shower, baby shower, birthday party or reception in the Kenner area, this is a good find."
"Gallier Hall used to be city hall and it's a lovely building. I've been to a private party here and to a performance in a small theater that is on site. The architecture is impressive and the building is surprisingly well kept up.Out front on St. Charles Avenue is where city officials greet the carnival monarchs. So it's a pretty great place to be during the season."
"Stella Plantation was a venue that my future wife and I were considering for our wedding. Unfortunately, due to some changes in family circumstances, a big chunk of our family expected financial contribution was abruptly out of the game and thus we could not afford this beautiful venue.Krystle, their events coordinator, is quite simply awesome. Throughout the whole process she was prompt and courteous, fielding our tons of questions like a pro. It is also worth it to note that this venue is welcoming towards gay couples such as my wife and I. They didn't even bat an eye, which gives them a whole star in my book.Besides the staff, the grounds are gorgeous. Picturesque oak trees forming a grand alley, newly refurbished buildings for you and your wedding parties to get ready, and a gigantic tent with fully removable walls for your reception complete with heat/AC and luxury bathrooms.Best of all, there is only one event a day at Stella, so you really have the run of the place. Compared to other plantation venues, their prices were reasonable, as well. If you have the budget, I highly recommend them!"
"What an amazing time at The Fillmore. One word. WOW!!!!I'm in town for the NACM Conference and our conference engagement was held at The Fillmore. I was unsure as to what the location was, however, after I googled it, I instantly became excited for the experience. Walking up to The Fillmore puts you in the mindset of a movie theater as the first thing you see are the stairs heading up to the indoor entrance. Once you hit the top of the stairs, you are met with a beautiful chandelier and dim lighting. The entrance is an open space which allows for ample options of creative design and has a bar to get the party started. LoL! As I walked around the wall to the main area my eyes grew big. The space is hugeeeeeeee. The design puts you in the mindset of a concert venue, yet, it was nice to see how it was converted to meet the needs of our event. There were some Hi-Top Tables placed on the main floor towards the middle, with some sitting tables around the outer area. Each side was lined with mini-buffet tables as we were able to make our rounds and enjoy what each table had to offer. The permanent seating areas fit perfectly as well as they allowed those who wanted to engage but not have to be on the main floor a space to enjoy the night. There is a bar in each side and they are hugeeeeeeeeeeee. This was perfect as we had close to 400 people throughout the night. As the space is designed with sounds in mind, I was happy to hear the clarity of the music as the "Mixed Nuts" band was on stage performing. As they presented stellar vocals and true musicians playing music, the fact that the sound system was crystal clear made their delivery even more enjoyable. The staff of The Fillmore was amazing. From the bartenders, to the servers, to the clean up team. Everyone was very pleasant, delivered a blend of southern charm and warming smiles, and most importantly; they ensured the night was enjoyable. It was truly an amazing experience at The Fillmore. I am so happy to have been afforded the opportunity to experience The Fillmore during my time in New Orleans."
"First of all I travel from a good distance to bowl at this location with my family and I. They make it a hassle to give 2 lanes but it isn't my fault that you can't not put the bumpers down throughout turns. The pins barely come down 10 at a time. Sometimes the pins just magically fall down before I could even roll my bowling ball. For example: I was in a very intense game and only 1 pin dropped and I only had 2 minutes left. I had to call the front desk and get them to add minutes and fix the pins in several occasions."
"I have made many bad decisions in my life BUT, the Presidential Palace was not one of them. Mrs Diana and her son Kevin hosted my 50th birthday party and everything was top notch! Mrs Diana is extremely accommodating and a true joy to work with. The food was superb and it never stopped coming. You could barely finish chewing before another server walked up. Those who were in attendance can't stop raving about Presidential Palace and the level of attentiveness provided. Mrs. Diana has assembled a phenomenal staff of servers and bar staff that can rival any 5 star restaurant staff. I can't even try and make up a negative comment about Presidential Palace as the venue, owner and staff are simply superb. They made me and all my guests feel like royalty. Money well spent and we can't wait to have the pleasure of hosting another event at the Presidential Palace. Thank you Mrs Diana, you delivered everything as promised and then some."
"My dream place for my wedding and I had it here. The venue is gorgeous and the food menu will have you talking about it for months after your wedding. There is a barn area as well for brides who want to get married in that type of venue. The coordinator was very reachable. I heard things about the coordinating issues through Facebook reviews but I personally did not have any. They make it as smooth as possible for you. If I ever did a vow renewal or needed some other big event I would def look into going here first. One of the best in BR."
"This place does not disappoint. My second time here. This time was even better than the last. The steak was great!! The burger was just as good maybe better. But you can't beat a steak. Service was good. Food was even better!!Will definitely be coming back! :-)"
"This is our favorite venue for our reunions! We have a luncheon here every three months with the retirees from our office. We have about 100 people participate and it grows each time due to the venue! Fran, Amie, Vic and their staff are fabulous! The food is delicious, the price is reasonable, and the service is first class. We can't imagine going anywhere else!"
"I attended a family wedding at this old school reception hall in Elmwood. The hall is divided into 2 sections and we were actually in both. The wedding happened on one side and they set up a very nice space for the ceremony and then we proceeded to the other side (after second lining in the parking lot) for the reception. The staff was uniformly great and very helpful. Like most receptions the food was a mixed bag. Some items were delicious and others were meh. However the passed pastries at the end of the event were delish and I was sad that I was almost full. The bartenders were hard working and kept up with the thirsty crowd. The dance floor was spacious and the dj played a variety of music so that even my 70+ parents got up and danced.Yes the area is more industrial but there are a couple of reception halls in the area. The parking is abundant."
"This was my first time at this venue. It's a little out of the way in New Orleans East which can be a good thing for people who don't want to pay city prices for an event. The building is well appointed, and there is plenty of parking. The space is rented in an executive office building, but once in the room, that fact is quickly forgotten. The staff was readily available to assist."
"I'm getting a little old to be spending my nights out on bourbon street these days but when I came to New Orleans to try various cocktails invented in the city, it would have been a pretty big omissions to skip over Pat O'Brians and try their Hurricane. Not my first choice when out for a drink but a refreshing, enjoyable one none the less.Honestly this place really surprised me. The outdoor courtyard space they have here is amazing and makes it a wonderful place to do some lazy day drinking. Their pub food is pretty good and offers a great selection of local dishes as well. I sort of expected this place to not be my vibe at all, but I have to admit that I think with its different spaces there is likely something that can appeal to everyone. If you are a tourist like me, I think you can do a lot worse than Pat O'Brien's. This is a case where the spot is pretty iconic for a reason I guess. There is a lot to like here."
"Oh wow. Where to start? Visiting for a conference and decided to check out places nearby. Stumbled upon this gem and fell in love. Ambiance is cozy, service was on point and the food was divine! The crab risotto I still dream about- creamy and luxurious. So good. The pasta was filling and full of flavor and a good kick to it! My coworker got a cocktail and raved about it. Would be a great date spot or after work and just relax and unwind fromThe day spot. I can't remember the name of the dessert I got as I asked the host to surprise me with his favorite- but I did add a picture- it was fantastic. Can't wait to come back and explore the rest of the menu."
