"Glitter Box was a super cute little feminist store in the quarter I was drawn into when we were in NOLA.I enjoyed the highly thoughtful cultivated vibe of the space and the political nature of the atmosphere. The service as well was very warm and friendly - there just wasn't anything that peaked my fancy while I browsed. Most of the time I'm not political in my attire - a bit more frivolous in my accessory choices, however I would definitely stop by again if visiting New Orleans. I love the concept and adore supporting spaces such as this!"
"Awesome place! Great staff and selection. From old sports memorabilia to the best 90s fits imaginable. Great shop- worth the stop for sure!"
"While some costume shops may be your go-to for wigs or certain items, I think Miss Claudia's is a wonderful spot for inspiration. It definitely feels like a step back in time in the organized chaos of wigs, suits, belts, ruffled and shiny shorts, vintage jewelry, gypsy skirts, mardi bras, gogo boots, stockings, and so much more. Have patience when you enter this store during a busy season since it's a smaller shop and, as mentioned, it's a spot for a nice browse. I've yet to dip my toe in their vintage section, but like any vintage store, if you see something and it fits, scoop it up or it might not be dere no more next time you come in. I picked up some fluffy hot pink booty shorts and the perfect flamingo leg stockings for Mardi Gras ( thank God they were open on Lundi Gras). I need to return between costuming and see if I can find something one-of-a-kind for those "quick-throw-on-a-costume" events!"
"While I'm sure that Glue would appeal to some people, it's just not one of the "nicer" vintage stores in the city. A lot of the stuff in this store I wouldn't even consider vintage. I mean, sure, I like a ratty looking AC/DC shirt as much as the next gal, but I doubt that I would rush out to buy one for 30 bucks and call it vintage. The place is packed with what I guess some people would call "hipster" clothes (I HATE that term, btw.) but if you are looking for something a little fancier, you would probably be better off going next door to On the Other Hand."
"Some nice stuff at this antiques/collectibles store, but a little pricey for my budget. I am by no means an expert thrifter so couldn't say if the prices are justified. They had a nice selection of wooden end tables and vanities, kitchenware, and used shoes and clothes. There were a lot of items on the floor without marked prices, and when I asked about one of them, I was told (very politely) that it wasn't for sale. I'll probably be sticking with the string of thrift stores down St. Claude a few blocks, but if you're looking for nice pieces and have a bit more money to spend, this might be worth a look."
"Bridge House is a thrift store that supports those with substance abuse within the community. I'm not sure what percentage of the sales go towards this, but it is a very nice deed. This thrift store is a nice size, it isn't massive. They have some beautiful shoes right by the entrance, they are displayed like they're in a department store. They have sorted clothes, for men, women and children. I was the most impressed by the home items like; rugs, mirrors, and glassware.Sadly I couldn't bring any of these home with me, but I really liked one of the mirrors. They have a whole section of $1.00 items, there was nothing for me here, but everything seemed to be in very good shape. They also have a substantial amount of records, CDs, books and art. This thrift store is much easier to navigate then the huge ones. You never know what you may find, and think of the good cause you're supporting with your purchase."
"Good service. Fair prices and some hidden gems. Very fun store to shop for cool vintage items."
"This is just a MUST STOP every time I'm in New Orleans! Such a special little boutique with the most exquisite choices - my daughter falls in love here (21) and my mother has too! (82)And there's something new to see every single visit"
"This shop is tucked away on a side street, no street parking was available when we came by. There is a paid parking lot down the street though. We walked over and it took less than five minutes. This shop is laid out nicely, it is very clean and the woman working that day was friendly. It is mostly vintage clothing and some hand made jewlry. If you are ok with dropping $50-$100 and are a size 0-4 you'll love this place. There is not much selection for curvier women, and I get it they sell what they can find. I am not that fancy though and can't justify spending that much on a piece of clothing unless it is spectacular."
"Really enjoyed popping in and finding some unexpected cute finds at decent quality and not shabby pricing! It's worth looking at when browsing along Magazine. There is a lot of nonsense junk tshirts but there are some dresses and tops worth going through if you're lucky. The big con is that there's only one dressing room which can have you waiting a while but hopefully you'll find a lucky find!"

A wonderful femme positive store. It has a little bit of fashion, makeup, jewelry and art.It truly is an ecclectic mix and a store I could spend hours in and not see it all. Loved it and wish there was one in Tampa that I could support.

Aidan, the shop owner is a real genuine guy. Really knowledgeable and great service. Love the shop and how homie it feels. Really glad for what he's done to the community and what he's going to continue to do. He's growing really fast with the community behind his back. Watch out NOLA, watch out Louisiana. I know there's something special brewing up. Goodluck! And don't forget to come by to grab some awesome vintage clothing and collectibles. Stay Healthy Stay Up Best Wishes And Much love.

Miss Claudia's may be small, but it is jammed packed with all types of costume and vintage items.I don't normally visit establishments such as this because I am not a fun person. Most of my life is spent being as boring as possible, but occasionally I get in a festive mood. The next time that mood strikes me, I will visit Miss Claudia for sure.My favorite items were the Elvis themed glasses and wigs. I would imagine this is where the Rolling Elvi shop. Other favorites included giant sombrerros and fishbowl pimp shoes. Unfortunately the fish in the heel of the shoe was a fake, but I guess that is more PETA friendly than the original version. If you want to dress up, check this place out.

Another interesting used clothing store on Oak Street. The selection is a bit more curated than most shops with an emphasis on a boho style. There are equal amounts of men and women's clothes along with some accessories. When I stopped in, the owner (I think) was actually in the shop and she was repricing winter coats at a discount. If her style is yours, you will rack up. If not, you might find an accessory to your liking.Extra star for actually carrying men's clothing.

I've stopped by this store at least 5 times during their supposed hours and it's NEVER open. How do they even make money? Sucks because the pictures show looks like they have some cute stuff.

At the tender age of 71 (!!) I have rediscovered the joy of sketching and artwork. I heartily dig the feel of pens and inks in my hands. Bringing us to the subject of picture frames. Great luck at the Earhart Bridge House location, so in my imagination, I figured, "ok, bigger space, probably got some nice used frames.." Ric and I have been to this Airline/Metairie locale and purchased, more than once. But, my bad: I'd only been looking at frames in the bins on the right hand side of the store. A man who works there and already knows us, happily put me wise, saying, "Look over there, we've got plenty of frames on the shelves." Plenty? That's putting it mildly. And, every single frame was priced at 50% off! Shazam!! This treasure palace of thrift is totally worth your time. Don't miss it if you are an artist, looking for family clothing, a hobbyist, or just in need of furniture. I actually saw some vintage styled 1950's themed jackets, at the "Last Chance $1.00" rack. They even have a lovely in-house lady: she sells prah....lines up front! Five stars, no hesitation. SIX if I could do it!!

Incredibly well curated, high quality vintage with first-class service! I don't usually venture to the FQ, but had to feed my vintage clothing obsession, knowing that this shop is associated with New Orleans' beloved Trashy Diva brand. This place was an absolute treasure trove of beautiful clothing and accessories. Y'all, this is not your average "Talbot's from the 90's" stock that many "vintage" stores contain (and yes I understand that 90's qualifies as vintage these days!) This is the place to go for a show-stopping special occasion dress from the 1940s, with intact jeweled buttons and a peplum detail at the waist. Or a flowing silk robe from the 1920s with a bold print of fans and florals. Or a beautifully carved sweater clip to accompany the fur-collared cashmere from 1950s. You get the picture! Now, this shop will have a higher price point than your average dig-through-the-rack vintage, because literally every piece is a gem. That said, the pricing is incredibly fair for what you are purchasing! I will treasure the pieces I bought from my visit last weekend, and can't wait to return! I also want to add that the shop employee Kim was just top notch! She was knowledgeable of each item and a joy to talk to. This place is a MUST VISIT for any vintage lover!!

Walking along Magazine Street, the most magnificent window will catch your eye... a mannequin dressed in vintage couture looking clothes, and antique hand mirrors hanging from the ceiling, all at different lengths. What a lovely gem this vintage boutique is... so many vintage stores are edgy or gaudy, but not this one. Century Girl is as elegant, classy, and timeless as can be. Filled with extravagant costume jewelry, or sparkly jaguar earrings, and even some fine jewelry (I loved a snake ring they had). Their bags are funky yet stylish, and the clothes.... holy moly. I'm not even a fur person but I was gushing over the fur coats. If you ever need a dress to wear to a wedding or a Gatsy party, this is your place. My friend pointed out this crown ring to me, and I just had to make it mine. It's such a statement piece and you bet I'll be rocking it on a daily basis. One of the things I loved too about this shop was how kind the 2 women were working there, and also the displays, visual merchandising, and lighting choices were gorgeous. IT's a very beautiful store and was DEF one of my fave shops. If you love beautiful clothing and unique off the cuff jewelry, then make sure you stop here!

"I found this place on Yelp while researching things to do in New Orleans while we were still just planning on taking a trip, and since the wife and I both love vintage stores this was a must. I am so glad we stopped in because this place has it all and I don't mean the usual stuff you find at your usual vintage store. We were greeted by the owner and she gave Great customer service and took the time to give us some history on New Orleans and some recommendations on what to do and where to visit while in town. The store has lots of clothing/lingerie from the 30's to the 70's in stock when we visited. I think the lingerie from that era is SEXIER than todays lingerie and BETTER quality. Lots of political/military pins. The wife and I seen a kids Dodgers Jersey from the 50's and we def knew we had to pick up for niece who lives in Texas and is pregnant with our soon to be great nephew, because we are going make sure he grows up to be a Dodgers fan wherever he grows up at!! Not much parking but the whole area is walking friendly. Store is kept very clean, and organized. I def recommend this establishment when in the area."
"Yes, most of the staff act like they hate their lives and talking to you is the worst possible task imaginable BUT they do have a great selection of clothes for Halloween, Mardi Gras, costume parties, etc. They also have tons of accessories: hats, jewelry, bags, shoes, wigs, make up, tights. The pricing is weird. Some things are truly great values while other, cheap, and used items are way overpriced. You just have to go digging for the gold amongst some trash. Funky monkey also has screen printing with a lot of nifty patterns ($20). Love my alien peace shirt!"
"A really cool antique mall. Prices were fair and it had a broad variety of items. Definitely time well spent to visit. The staff was very friendly"
"The Snail Museum of Miniature Art is located here. Secretly, I was hoping for something larger, but it was perfect. This is a very cute store with interesting cards, clothing and accessories. I found a few things that I could not leave behind. I look forward to coming back for other things. The employees were all very friendly and helpful. There is so much to look at!"
"I thoroughly enjoyed my visit at Merchant House and loved the quirkiness yet very cool ambiance here. This is the place you come to so you can find those one-of-a-kind momentums to give your place a personal touch. Come here if you're looking for those pieces that are conversation starters. I saw so many different eras of furniture and knick knacks which had my heart fluttering with joy. You can also find a few variances of plants and I noticed there was clothing on the top floor! They host a wide variance of local vendors but everything flows together so nicely. This is a great place to explore and perhaps find a new piece that speaks to you personally."
"J'adore Bdffrnt in so many ways. They have such a curated collection of late 80s/early 90s pieces that are all hand selected by the owner herself. It was really neat hearing about the process and how involved + invested she is with her business. The organization is perfect since it's layed out by the type of clothing article it is. Think wind breakers, vests, button downs, pants. Clothes really are unisex and everyone should be allowed to wear what they want.If you bring in any clothing items to donate you'll receive a designate percentage off your purchase and they have some solid sale racks. It's a must stop shop for everyone in the city."
"Had a mini-shopping-palooza today and hit a few of the clothing consignment shops (Prima Donna, Swap, Encore, and On the Other Hand) uptown in search of a formal gown that would fit my short, curvy self. Encore Shop is in the University Section and as I've said before benefits the Symphony. Much of their stock skews a bit older, so if I had been looking for a mother of the bride dress, I would have been very happy with the gown selection. That said you never know what you will find in there and I was very tempted by a vintage Coach bag that was priced well."
"While we waited for our BNB to open up, we Googled "thrift shops" and this one was the closest to us walking distance from where we ate lunch at Johnny's Po Boy. When we got here, we immediately saw the vintage decorations on the walls and around the store. It really gives the space a nice vintage look and feel. Some of the retro furniture's consisted of old school arcade games, cooler, pull out drawers, etc. As we went around the store and looked at the tags, we realized we weren't at your average thrift store, but instead it became apparent that we were in a more retro and vintage novelties store. There were several really fun pieces that I would've loved to taken home with me, but it wasn't in my budget for this trip. Lot's of cool nostalgic pieces for sure! It was a cute spot to look around and it was definitely worth the stop."
"Very NOLA - prices were a little higher than expected for essentially shopping in a dusty closet but shit was cool. Glad I checked it out"
"Had a mini-shopping-palooza today and hit a few of the clothing consignment shops (Prima Donna, Swap, Encore, and On the Other Hand) uptown in search of a formal gown that would fit my short, curvy self. So I feel confident in my comparisons.Swap is a newer store in the University Section and seems to cater mostly to the college crowd. That said there were some cute shoes, jackets, etc in mostly nicer mall brands (J. Crew, Banana Republic, Jessica Simpson). The prices were good and the shop was well organized. It was also the smallest of the four stores I went to, but that was OK since I was getting overwhelmed by volume, so it was nice to have some actual breathing room."
"As I walked down this end of Magazine Street I spotted this new interesting furniture stop in a former warehouse space. AND it has parking out front. AMAZING on this stretch. It's all consignment furniture and the longer it stays, the cheaper it gets....which is clearly marked. By the dates on the furniture, it opened sometime last week. Lots of beautiful chairs and wood furniture including a nice collection of prieu dieu if you need that. I was interested in the many many foo dogs. There were quite a few Asian accessories. Was allowed to browse without interruption but there were staff on hand to answer questions. Nice addition to this end of Magazine."
"I just love the new space, so much larger and airier than the tee-niny shop they had on Maple. Love the expanded collection of vintage clothing and coats. And all the purses, oh my.They are really good about buying vintage items from collectors (a friend has sold them jewelry, furs, purses and clothes). The owner does have a great eye and she's very easy to work with. The staff member that was in the store when I stopped in a couple of weekends ago was lovely and the space is very conducive to browsing.Great addition to Magazine Street."
"Just when I thought I'd hit all the funky, unique, eclectic home furnishing stores in NOLA, Floor 13 hit my radar. Such a fun shopping experience. Loaded with everything from one-of-a-kind pieces, to hundreds of the same thing (from the Ritz-Carlton, perhaps), some of which is waiting for a paint job to make it one-of-a-kind. Lamps, artwork, rugs, desks, chairs, couches, tables, beds, nightstands, knickknacks, pillows, taxidermy pieces & more. Reasonably priced. Clean and well organized. Super friendly service.Planned to stop by for a few minutes to look for something specific. Left hours later with a few other things."
"Amazing store! Owner is so knowledgeable and has a great curated selection. Never had so much fun trying on clothes before. I got a gorgeous 1970s gown that I wore to a friend's wedding the same day. It was perfect and I got so many compliments on it. So glad I came here and found an amazing dress."
"This is such a great shop. It's in a perfect area and has something for everyone here. They had old furs to fine art and china here. It's a quaint shop with always changing items for sale."
