"Velvet Cactus is the most unique Mexican gem in the city! The ambiance of this place is unbeatable, with excellent indoor and outdoor seating. A great place to dress up for a girls night, or dress down for a casual dinner. Especially during the Christmas season, they offer bubble tents and transform the place into a winter wonderland. Everything I have tried here has been great! But my all time favorites are the salsa and the cheese grits. I crave both of them! I recommend getting the taco plates. They are super yummy with a better portion. Most of the plates they offer are big portions so I normally have a lot to take home. They also have yummy margaritas with a great happy hour! The service is great too with very nice and thoughtful servers. Our server came to check on us and refilled anything we needed. Love love love!!"
"Great little burrito restaurant in Gauiter. The food is always fresh and hot. The service is good, I have never eaten in the restaurant always Togo. I just wish this location would stay open a little longer. I always order a steak burrito or steak bowl with extra meat of course! Nice little gem!"
"My alltime favorite Mexican food. Bean dip is amazing. Guacamole fresh. Food comes out fast and hot and all the servers are very attentive and quick.I've never had a bad meal!"
"My wife and I stopped by for lunch because I wanted to try the pastor grill that I'd seen posted on Yelp. Unfortunately we were told that it was only available during dinner hours, but our server checked with the chef and he was willing to accommodate, so I lucked out. Everything was hot and fresh. My only minor complaints were that the complimentary salsa wasn't as chunky as I like (it was more like a sauce), and we asked for no bell peppers in our fajitas but they didn't omit them. Overall though, it was solid."
"Who doesn't love chips and salsa?? Stopped in to grab a quick dinner with my son and my parents!! We were seated quickly .. I do wish the tables were a little bigger. It was a bit snuck for 4 adults with drinks and chips and salsa on the table. There are plenty of choices on the menu... All the typical Mexican hits!! There is a full bar that offers margarita specials different nights of the week. There were TV's playing sports and music playing in the background. We started off with queso.. they have both yellow and white. We went with white and it was a good choice. Everyone quickly ate it up. My mom asked for a special green salsa they keep in the kitchen but will gladly bring to your table if you ask. The food was good, nothing extra special but typical of any other Mexican place in town. Service was great... All in all I enjoyed my meal and I will come back!"
"These are probably the best tamales I've had on the coast in a LONG time. They have other traditional Tex Mex as well. And they have Keto and Gluten free options as well!"
"YUM!!! Fresh, homemade and great portion sizes! My husband and I ate too many chips with salsa and bean dip lol! My husband ordered the Chile rellano. It was a giant stuffed pepper coated in a brown tamale like coating. He rarely eats the rice and beans that typically come with a Mexican restaurant dish. but at Victoria's, he ate every bite! I had the shrimp fajitas! The shrimp were big, there were so many and they were seasoned perfectly! The tortillas are homemade!!! We had margaritas and they had a good amount of tequila. Our waitress was so nice and responsive! My guacamole had a huge piece of avocado that was not ripe so couldn't be cut. She quickly brought me more guacamole with a smile! We had a great meal!"
"Had the Enchiladas. They were fantastic!!Delicious!!!Clean place, good service.I strongly recommend!Everything was great!!"
"My friend and I went here the other day and it was delicious! Our waitress was amazing, she literally explained everything in the menu, I told her idk why she even brought us menus bc we honestly didn't need to look at them, she was so thorough. Apparently it's best to go on Tuesday for their taco night deals so I added that to my list of Tuesday dinners! The owner made my friend an again chocolate martini!"
"I went to this restaurant yesterday for the first time and it was very good with great service. One of the owners even checked on us 3 times to make sure everything was good. Our waitress Rose was wonderful. She helped us make informed decisions about the food we wanted to order and she came by at just the right times to bring extra things we needed. The mood in the restaurant is perfectly lit, not to dark or to light. The bathroom was cleaned and smelled GREAT. Please try it out. They told me it had only been opened for 1 year and I think they're doing great!"
"I've been here twice now, and the food was terrific both times. On the first visit, the service was a little rough, but I've decided that was growing pains for a new restaurant. Everyone was friendly, but the service missed on a few spots. On the next visit, I was with a pretty large, disorganized group, but our server was very patient and very good. This is a large, comfortable space, with a very large full bar. There's an outdoor space that is great for kids to play and run around. The location is very convenient for me, and I can see this becoming one of my go-to spots for tasty Tex-Mex."

This place is so beautiful like a jungle oasis at the beginning of Harrison coming from the park. They have a happy hour that offers 2 for 1 margaritas frozen and house and I was happy with the strawberry frozen set I got for $12.95.

Discovered this little jewel earlier this week & have been here THREE TIMES already! I am a huge fan of authentic tamales & OMG Burrito Zone does not disappoint. Today I changed up & ordered a "steak bowl" - delicious! I'm gonna need more of y'all to support this locally owned business- cause I can't keep them open all by myself.... although I've given it a good try this week! Hahaha!!!

This place deserves nothing less than 4.7 on Yelp. I gave the 5. The menu was intriguing, the food tasted fantastic, and the decor was inventive. I felt like I was at a bougie café in Mexico City. REAL FOOD inspired from Mexico. This is not a Nicaraguan take on Mexican menu . Must visit to appreciate.

This is a great spot for tasty Mexican dishes! While Blue Corn has been on my list of places to try, I ended up here rather unexpectedly for a Friday night dinner around 6:30pm after two nearby places had waits of 45+ minutes (no thank you!). Considering how busy those other places were, I was a bit skeptical of stopping at Blue Corn because it seemed somewhat empty when we arrived (spoiler alert - it filled up like 5 minutes afterward).Hubby and I were greeted by a friendly waiter, who promptly seated us. However, after we placed our drink orders, someone else (manager?) came to our table to say there had been a mix-up and our table had been reserved for someone else. Would we like to move to the bar to wait for a table? We said we could stay at the bar (since who wants to move a second time). We moved to the bar and were greeted by one of the bartenders who asked if we wanted a drink, so I let him know I had already put in a drink order for a margarita. It came out a few minutes later, but I found it to be really watery (which is a bit strange because they make all their margs fresh - not using a pre-mix, which I give bonus points). Maybe it was the ice, but I was a bit disappointed (especially after reading all the reviews about how good they are). But! Because of the mixup with our table, this marg was on the house, so I really can't complain too much. I very much appreciated the gesture! Our bartender was super friendly and helped the hubs decide on what to order (Pastor Skillet), but he was clearly busy and it took a while for him to actually take our order. He never asked if I wanted another drink and wasn't really attentive, although he interacted with other guests that it seemed were regulars; it took quite a while to get our bill even though we were right in front of him with empty dishes. There was also a couple seated next to us about 10 minutes after we sat at the bar who were asked if they wanted another drink and they ended up getting their bill well before we did while we sat with empty plates. This is why I gave 4 stars and not 5. I'm a sucker for good service.Food here was AWESOME (and why I wish I could give 4.5 stars). I had the 3 taco combo with the Tinga, Al Pastor, and Baja Shrimp tacos. All were delicious and they overfill the taco (messy, yes; delicious also yes!) I ate everything on the plates in front of me, including the beans and rice (the rice I could have done without, but I loved the beans). All in all, I would go back here and not sit at the bar to see if that's a different experience. I really feel for busy bartenders, but I felt so ignored.

Our favorite honey hole! The closest thing we can get to authentic Texas Mexican food. We've tried everything in denham, Watson, Zachary, central, and baton rouge and victoria's is the absolute best! My husband usually gets the birria tacos and flautas. Their chile rellano is out of the this world! Ask for the Acapulco sauce. Margaritas are the best hands down. Highly recommend.

"We went here recently for the first time. We've past by more times than we can remember, but it will not be the last time we stop by for dinner. They brought us the complimentary chips and salsa and drinks. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good the chips were. They are homemade, warm, lightly salted and very thin. My favorite kind! The salsa was also very good. That was a good sign. There was a shift change issue, so they were delayed taking our meal order, so they offered us a free appetizer. Awesome! They brought us the queso, while we waited for our meal. I got the tamales plate and my husband got a combination meal. All was good and tasty and the prices are very reasonable.Don't pass this one by, stop and give them a try! (hey...that rhymes...lol)"
"La Casa and I go way back. Way back. Being a Houma native and having family that still live in the area I've visited La Casa many, many times. It's known around town as "the place to be" as it has a bar area (separate from the dining area) that is always hopping and the restaurant itself is one of the more upscale Mexican places in Houma.I was here recently and had the Grilled Shrimp Nachos (shrimp, beans, monterrey jack and cheddar, sour cream, pico, bacon bits, avocado and chives topped with jalapenos. Holy shit...these were amazing. If you go here for nothing else go for these. I would not steer ya'll wrong. We also shared some burritos and what I love about La Casa's burritos (besides their hysterical names) are that there is no rice in them. Rice in burritos distracts from the fillings in my opinion. If rice is your thing, you can order a side of it.The Happy Burrito is filled with beans and ground beef and topped with cheddar and chili. The Sad Burrito is exactly the same without the chili and I guess it's sad because it's missing the chili. My favorite though was the Lazy Burrito-filled with beans and ground beef topped with enchilada gravy and cheddar. I am a sucker for some good enchilada gravy and theirs is really good. I'll be back and if you're in the area give La Casa a try!"
"Typical Gulf Coast Mexican fare. For those that live in the Pass it's a shorter distance than going to downtown gulfport. Prices are comparable to Gulfport and the restaurant is huge and great for large groups. The parking lot is big and ample. They have lunch specials until 3:00 pm and they have a bar for your margaritas!!!"
"The beignets were great very airy, not too sweet make sure to eat them fresh. The omelette was create your own but good ingredients overall. The French toast had a very prominent vanilla flavor and was very sweet but very good. The burrito chimichanga style was amazing. The burrito was very greasy should come with some salsa on the side too to cut through that. The side of hash browns was the real star in all honesty so airy and crispy the best I've ever had.The service was quick and constant attention. The tables are weirdly close together which is interesting."
"Hell Yes! Legit tacos in Mandeville.Let me set the stage for you. It is Christmas Eve Eve and I am driving around doing some last minute shopping. I have been roving the earth for hours and it is now lunchtime and traffic everywhere is insane. I remembered seeing Parish Tacos on Yelp so I made a quick Toast Takeout order and headed to get my food.I am pretty sure this location was once Pontchartrain PO-Boys. That is one of my all-time favorites and I can see Parish becoming one as well. Inside is small but there are plenty of tables for dining in. The space is clean and well decorated with an awesome Pelican and the name painted on the wall. The staff were super friendly and my food was ready in the timeframe promised on the app. When I got home all I could say was wow. The food is amazing. Tacos are two to an order and are priced very reasonably for what you get. Here is the rundown of what I had:Street corn - This side was around $2 and was the best street corn I have ever had. The container said fried street corn which may have been the difference in standard street corn. But the sauce and toppings? My god. I could have eaten ten ears of this corn. Make sure you get some and drink the remaining sauce.Lengua tacos - Don't be scared of the meat. Yes, it is beef tongue but yes it is delicious. This version was small chunks which was different than the slow-cooked shredded tongue I have had in the past but it was delicious.Pork belly - This seemed like a Korean take on a taco. The belly was perfectly cooked and the kimchi made this an excellent taco.Birria - Look, if you are in the mood for a taco, get this, and don't look back. The meat was so flavorful that it didn't need the sauce it came with. But guess what? I used it anyway because it was awesome. Bang Bang shrimp tacos - This was the best shrimp taco I have ever had in my entire life. Full stop. I do not know what voodoo they did to make this taste so good but it was truly special. Kudos to you Parish Tacos. I am now craving more of this and I am still full from all the other tacos.Suffice it to say, I love this place. If you even remotely like authentic tacos, you will too. If you don't like authentic tacos why have you read this review to the end? You should probably try one and get on the taco train son."
"I grew up in this area and Tampico's is one of the only restaurants so people are highly critical of a place they go to all the time. A review under 4 stars is not at all warranted. Every time a new Mexican restaurant opens up (and closes shortly after) people proudly exclaim "It's better than Tampico's!" Why? Because Tampico's is the bar! They have set a high standard and those places are never really as good as Tampico's. Admittedly I've settled on one dish that I really like, the Super Nachos. I also like the Burrito Allegra (chili & cheese burrito) and the Chimichanga. They have, hands down, the best salsa anywhere. I love that it's served hot. Some people are used to salsa being cold and think it's weird to get hot salsa. Those people are wrong. Their margaritas are also consistently fantastic. I get the Patron meltdown most of the time. I hope they stay open forever."
"Yes!!!! Great Mexican restaurant on St. Charles Avenue with the best food and margaritas. Perfect for gatherings and celebrations. Service is good and consistent."
"First time here and I was sad to see the 3 star review because our experience was 5 star worthy!! Best Mexican/Tex mex experience we have had yet! We sat at the bar and Carlos took excellent care of us! The drinks were on point and my margaritas were so pretty! Then came the food. Oh, the food!! Delicious!!! We found our New Mexican food place and it's a 30-40 min drive for us and we are okay with that!!"
"Best fajitas IMHO.Very good flavor, always sizzling, and great value for the money.Even though there's no weekend happy hour, their draft pint beers are about what other restaurants in the area charge for happy hour.Their salsa for chips & salsa is very good."
"Agave Blue hit the spot! The atmosphere is nice, there is plenty of parking, the service was great, and the food was tasty. We came in late on a Saturday night and they were packed with people watching the game on one of the many tvs. We were quickly seated and given a basket of chips with a carafe of salsa yum! The salsa is delicious. The waitress was quick and patient, when I was feeling a little indecisive. We ended up ordering fajitas with steak and shrimp, a burrito and a cup of tortilla soup. The flavor on everything was delicious. My fajitas were very hot temperature wise. The burrito was cold, I don't know why because everything came out very quick after ordering. They have al pastor, which isn't like the pastor back home that's cooked on the spit, but it was still good. The fajitas were a definite hit, and I will definitely be back for more.We didn't order cocktails, but their margaritas look fantastic, and they have a happy hour ! We will have to come back for that."
"My family and our large party of 22 ate at Superior Tuesday, and our waitress Alena was FABULOUS with our huge party. The vibe is always on point especially with the live music. All of the staff were super attentive, efficient and so friendly. Our food was hot and delicious! Our glasses stayed filled and our chips and salsa stayed plentiful. Looking forward to another visit!"
"Dogs no longer welcome in dining rooms. Health code. They can come in with you to order your food, however! Also, they expanded their entire place, like doubled the patio and the bar! Amazing margaritas still."
"I've been to both locations and glad they opened this one closer to my house. They sat us quickly, service was friendly, and kitchen was efficient. Food had the perfect temperature and taste. The best part is that the manager and owner came to check on us. Made us feel valued."
"Best salsa! Love their ceviche too! Like everything and Dave the bartender makes sure you are taken care of. Thanks Casa for being a local favorite"
"This building used to be the old Papi's. It used to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants until the flood of 2016 and then it was just never the same. New ownership and a whole fresh look and vibe. We really really enjoy coming here. The outside patio is quaint and the live music is pretty good. The food is very good. The menu has a lot of different options to choose from. Everything that we have tried has been very very good. Has a very authentic atmosphere and the weight staff is very friendly and quick. I really enjoy eating here."
"This Chili's is located in MSY near gate C4. There is a decent amount of both bar and table seating. There are outlets at your seat for you to charge your electronics pre-flight. They don't give you a menu here, you have to pull it up with a QR code. They offer familiar Chili's favorites, like fajitas, chips & salsa, guacamole, or queso, burgers, chicken sandwiches and tenders, soups, and salads.Ordering at the bar is a bit strange. First, the bartender has to "turn on" your tab in their POS. If you're only drinking, you're supposed to order & pay online. If you're drinking and eating, you check out with the bartender. The food & drinks were actually pretty good and reasonably portioned without being terribly expensive for airport fare."
"The food here is always great! I usually get the steak taco salad and the steak is marinated beautifully and the taco salad bowl is crispy and fresh! The drinks are delicious! And, the service is good, too! Always busy, but managed well! Generous portions and well priced! I thought I had pictures, but trust me,"
"My bestie & I love a chips & dip yap sesh after a long week of work. We have loved going to La Carreta & getting a large queso & strawberry margarita! Those are the essentials. Last night I tried their Chile Relleno.. TOP NOTCH! The service is always great & they have live music most of the time on the back patio. We left happy & full (: We will be returning!"
