"What a fantastic "mom & pop" shoe store. I recently needed a new pair of shoes for my 9-year old, who is very hard to fit. Living in the Lakeview area, I'm not sure how my wife stumbled onto Haase's Shoe Store, but I'm glad she did, as this is definitely our new go-to spot for kid's shoes. Located on Oak street just off of S. Carrollton, the exterior façade looks like it was taken right out of the 1960's; and I like that a lot. Founded in 1921 as Haase's Shoe Store and Young Folks Shop, they have 100 years of experience, and it shows. As I walked towards the store, I was immediately reminded of a Norman Rockwell painting, but I digress.Upon walking in, I was very courteously greeted by Mr. Kevin Caliva who, after asking what he could help us with, measured my sons feet and showed us what he had in stock. He was the consummate professional (no AL Bundy here) and treated us like we were the only people in the store, which we definitely were not. They had an incredible selection of kids' shoes. Not only did they have a large selection of tennis shoes, but they also carried boots, first walkers, casual shoes, infant crib shoes, loafers, moccasins, Oxfords, rain boots, slipper, sandals, lots of Velcro shoes up to size 5 and a huge assortment of kids school shoes. In fact, their section of solid black sneakers for school use was the most diverse I've ever seen in ANY shoe store. Haase's also sells clothing, some school uniforms, accessories and does monogramming. They even sell gift cards, which I think would be a big hit, as this store is phenomenal. We left the store with a brand new pair of Asics for my son. Kevin took my contact information, as we wanted another pair of shoes that he didn't currently have in stock. However, we are going to gladly wait for a new shipment, as this is now our go-to store shoe store for our son! I can't recommend this place enough!"

"I was wandering along this section of Magazine Street and I realized that I had never wandered into this women's clothing store. PLUS I saw beaucoup customers coming out of it with shopping bags and smiles.Turns out it's their end of season sale! So I tried on a variety of pieces and I was successful too! The staff person was really sweet but busy as she was the only one working. This shop has definitely been in this location for a bit so I was surprised it wasn't already listed in Yelp. The sizes do tend to run a bit small but that's sort of the norm in these small boutiques."

"I love this store! Really stylish and trendy clothing and a friendly staff, what more could you ask for?I was greeted with a friendly "hello" as soon as I walked in the store and I began looking over their merchandise. I love the big windows that let natural light into the store and the layout is perfect for easy shopping.For me, the star of the store was all of the accessories. They had a great selection of necklaces, bracelets and sunglasses and candles that smell amazing. I snagged a cute necklace for myself with ease. The clothing is really nice, high quality and enough to make you fit in at any party. I want to go on a shopping spree here soon.This shop is worth the stop!"

After all, I have to get back to my FTR!Oh, the shoes.Oh, the super cute, flattering dresses.Oh, the lovely lingerie.Oh, the lush, baroque decor that makes you feel like you're shopping in Paris. Oh oh oh oh!!!! But there's more. Walk in clueless or even thinking you have an ounce of fashion know-how and these ladies will set you straight (in an ultra kind way). They will make you look hotter than you could have ever imagined. I witnessed them turning one Miss Emily A in a divalicious pin-up girl from H to T. She picked the dress. They did everything else: shoes, hair, a touch of blush to the cheeks. Seriously, you'd think you were at some ultra high end shop that would be kicking Pretty Woman out the door, but it's not the case. Figure on price points ranging around 120-150 bucks for a really pretty dress (they have casual to dressy). Accessories are at very affordable price points (I purchased gorgeous red gloves and a studded belt for a total of 60 bucks). Shoes are of good quality and will run you around 150 (note: they have the kind of heels that are so comfy you'd never know you were wearing heels). They will alter any dress to flatter your figure, ladies. That's kinda priceless, especially in a town where it's not the easiest thing in the world to find a good tailor. Just sayin'. I'll be updating this review on the regular. Look out for the attached lingerie shop that is going to open soon. I know I will be perusing it on the regular."

"Its about the only Western wear place on the Eastbank and they have a decent selection of boots. They have quite a few shirts, jackets and jeans but on a recent visit I just couldn't find any shirts that really appealed to me. The store seems to be about half men's and maybe a bit over half women's items. Some of the prices seemed a bit expensive but many of the items are made in the U.S.A."

"Well its footlocker. I don't there is much else to say because this one is just like the other ones that are around this country. This one had the typical latest shoes out and they had a variety of clothes and hats to choose from. It was clean and the staff was helping out each and every customer, to the best of their ability which I can give only the upmost respect for that. If you are into footlocker, then definitely enjoy yourself."

I happened to just stumble into this place because I had never seen it before and then I realized that today was their opening day.Lucy Rose has a lot of cute clothes for all body types. I think I would call them "happy" clothes: a lot of skirts, dresses and tops in a lot of bright colors. I was only able to quickly stop in here today, but I will definitely be back. "Located inside the Elmwood shopping plaza, there is plenty of parking and it's an outdoor mall with lots of popular stores around like HomeGoods, Bath & Body, J. Crew Factory, Banana Republic Factory, etc. Was looking for a Nike New Orleans shirt but they no longer make it. I hope they eventually bring this back, cause it'd be a nice souvenir! Half the store is filled with shoes, but I didn't check it out and limited selections of clothing/accessories. A quarter of the store is for adults and a quarter of it is for kids. Service was alright - no one really asks you if you need help nor do they greet you. I've never been inside a community store, so it's similar to an outlet store with most items being discounted. I found myself a nice beige sweater (for men's) for $10 off. We drove half an hour out from downtown NOLA to come here. Just glad we didn't come out of the store with nothing, haha."

The woman working was extremely friendly and greeted me when I walked in, and I headed over to the racks to see what was what. They carry a lot of cute dresses and tops here, but they definitely aren't cheap. They had a linen t shirt for $100. Seriously. No shade, but this stuff is just a little out of my price range.They had a few things for sale, so I picked some things out to try on. Nothing really "worked" for me, but I can appreciate the quality of the clothing here and I am sure that it is worth the money and will likely last you years.If you are looking for higher end clothing, this is the place for you."

"I've walked by this little shoe boutique many times, with no good reason to enter. One walk by with my wife the week before Christmas is all it took to prompt me to return and make a purchase. I didn't expect five-star customer service, but that's exactly what I received. Spotlessly clean shop. Not a huge selection, but fun to shop. The clerk was so helpful in selecting a boot that I knew my wife would love. The sale was super easy. I was in and out in minutes. I was a hero on Christmas morning, however the boot fit was a bit too tight, so I walked back to the store to exchange for a half size larger. Different clerks, same five-star service. This time, the boot was a bit too large, so back again I went. This time I was helped by the owner, who was a pleasure to deal with as well. Thank you SBD for making "shopping local" such a great experience!"

"I really liked this store with their nice selection and reasonable prices. I will agree that there was no acknowledgement when I walked in, but that's not a big deal.I was impressed at the prices at some of the really nice items. They had a black sequin dress, that would be perfect for a fancy night out on the town, and it was only $70. They had other cute dresses and skirts that were in the $30 range. I didn't see anything that appealed to me on this visit, but Mirabella is on my radar and I'll be visiting them again."

I decided to go around the boutiques in Metairie, and found some really cute stuff in BluBerri! Tops, skirts, sets, shoes, and accessories-- you name it, they have something cute! It's very modern, young, and chic! They also have friendly and helpful staff (unlike their neighbors who seemed bothered by my presence)! Their prices are what you'd expect for a boutique. "Really really pleased with our experience! My daughter is need of sandals for the summer. Beings I'm usually cheap I purchase ones from Wal-Mart. But within a week or two they are completely ruined and tragic looking. Plus my daughter has extremely narrow/skinny feet and ankles. So I can't just buy from anywhere. We decided to give the Saltwaters a try since they are so awesomely rated. We were recommended this store. We went in and they had an awesome selection. We were greeted by a pleasant young man. He was a huge help. I picked out a few pairs to try in different sizes. He was extremely patient and kind. He sat my daughter down and took off her boots and socks. Put the new sandals on and we let her walk. He was extremely patient as I couldn't decide which sandal to go with. And he gave us his opinion. After I chose he took my daughter and took off the sandals put her socks and boots back on. They definitely just gained clients for as long as my child is in their size shoes!"

"Like everyone else, I'm going to go ahead and call this store really cute. They have a great selection of shoes and they were even having a really nice sale when I was here. Whether you are looking for "night on the town" type shoes or just casual shoes, you will find some good deals here.When I was here I was looking for some shoes to go with my Halloween costume. The woman working was very helpful and although I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, I saw enough to know that I will be returning whenever I am in the need for some stylish pumps. They also carry a nice selection of New Orleans themed t shirts that are made out of a really soft cotton, so check that out if it's your thing."

On the other hand, I felt less than welcome when I shopped here.I was in here looking around and hoping to find some new clothes for my New Year wardrobe. I was dressed down, having spent the entire day running errands and finishing Christmas shopping. Upon walking in, the woman working kind of looked me over and didn't say "hi" or anything. However, I did notice that she greeted other customers. I didn't think much of it and I just looked around as I normally do, but I did find it kind of weird.The clothing here is lovely and they have a wide selection of things from casual to dressy. I saw a lovely red dress that I am actually considering purchasing just so I have it for any fancy event that might come up. The clothes are a little pricier, but I can tell that they're worth it because the quality is outstanding.Because they're located in old Metairie, I would recommend dressing up a little when shopping here. Otherwise, you're on your own as far as help is concerned."

"Solid little boutique in a strip mall across from Lakeside shopping Center. I was on a quest to find the PERFECT dress for a family wedding in July in the FQ. And this was one of my stops. The accessory selection was really cute too.The dressing rooms were spacious and the staff person was really helpful and friendly without being pushy.I liked the colorful selections and loved the really different styles that they had here. "I heard of this store through a friend who highly suggested it, I had never even seen it and I live 5 minutes away. I stopped in quickly today on a break from work and tried on a few things. I found a super cute top on sale but the dress I fell in love with was something I didn't want to spoil myself with right after Xmas. I mentioned to the stylist to call me if it ever went on sale as I was leaving. And Gia, the stylist, text me about an hour later saying they added it to the sale rack. Now THIS is customer service. Everything in the store is cute and fun, and there is a wide variety of items. Pieces you could easily use for business casual or something to stand out of the crowd. I will definitely be going back to this shop. Bonus: easy parking! They have a lot right in front of the store."
