"MY GO TO CRAWFISH IN HAMMOND. It has the perfect amount of spice and depth of flavor. They get crowded on fridays during lent but I will always wait. Love the boiled corn. It holds the spice the best. They have d&d sausage so so so good. My boyfriend got the fried catfish plate with fried rice. He had 7 or 8 catfish tenders and a good bit of yummy fried rice!"
"Fantastic crawfish, at a great price and great customer service! I left my wallet there and the owner held it for me until the next day. Some of the best seafood in Houma! Go and check them out!! You won't be disappointed!"
"Bought a half gallon before thanksgiving and oysters were good and salty. They gave me a choice of washed or unwashed with oyster liquor. Obviously took the unwashed as we used the liquor to make the oyster soup."
"I've bought seafood here a few times and the price and quality is always good. The parking is tight and there's a line most of the time especially during crawfish season and holidays, but trust me it's worth it. The prices are reasonable but they do sell crawfish fast so try to get there early. I've tried the boiled shrimp here as well and it's good too! Locally, this is the best selection for the price and size of the seafood."
"Nice people making good boiled seafood! Only once in a blue moon did I wish they cleaned the crawfish just a little better. This really only happened at the very start of the crawfish season, but by the end everything was up to par. If you are looking for a real spicy boil this place is not it, its not as spicy as some places but the flavor is all there."
"Every time I turn around they add a new building here. They have outdoor restrooms. They have a plate lunch place. They have a snack and snowball stand. They have a bait stand. They have a commercial freezer and Shrimp Plant Operation. They have a retail operation that caters to the public. Today I even got to taste my first softshell shrimp there. They were wonderful all fried no peeling required. The heads of the best part. They seem to be prospering."
"Just absolutely amazing. Phenomenal. Met the owner, Linda, and she was wonderful. Seriously - do not skip this place. Amazing!!!"
"We were on a trip with our visitors to Jean Lafitte Park and spotted this place on our way back into the city....what a GREAT find!! Another "only-in-New-Orleans" kind of place.Things we loved: Perfectly seasoned boiled crawfish complete with newspaper on the tables to eat 'em on, $2 cans of Miller Lite, Fried Shrimp Po-boy, decently priced sides, the sweet potato pie.Things that were just O.K.: jambalaya, potato salad, cold boiled shrimp, crawfish pie, boiled corn.Things we didn't like: the shrimp remoulade salad (should be called the thousand island shrimp salad), the bread pudding, and the boiled sausage, yeah, no. And the way we received the itemized bill was UN-cool, I'd like to see what I paid and how much taxes were added, please.Overall, a great place to get hot boiled crawfish and cold cheap beers. I will be back!"
"FEET MEMORIESFive years ago we were introduced to crawfish, corn on the cob and pigs feet spread on top of a newspaper covered kitchen table. The spicy pickled pigs feet stayed stuck deep into Yu-go's memory.Top priority was to personally visit Hebert Seafood for them pigs feet. Only $2.25 each too.You know what...they were even better this time around according to Yu-go.I have a strange feeling we'll be back. LoL"
"Seafood was tasty and as fresh as can be, and very affordable. Loved that we could buy portions of each thing as we wanted. Service is no frills and straightforward, helpful enough, but it's really charming and fit what we wanted."
"We're so sad that we were in such a rush because this place is absolutely amazing! We got here and our table was already set for us! We were greeted to nothing but smiles, and the owner Big Al himself took real good care of us. We got the seafood gumbo, fish and chips, and the fish po boy. All three things were delightful! We will definitely be coming back!"
"Swap-meet gravel parking lot with two rows of various shanty/lean-to "booths" where locals hawk their wares out of Igloo coolers and plug-in freezers. (There was also a place that made Po-boys, but they were closed when I was there.).Damn, I loved this place. Coming from Michigan, the only way to find head-on shrimp like these is to find a seafood specialty counter and pay 30-40 bucks a pound (and those ain't gonna be this fresh!) The lady with the neon road-crew vest and a moderate Creole accent was a delight, and I was able to understand 80% of what she said. I bought 6 pounds of whites and used the heads and shells for shrimp stock. Probably the best I have ever made. Under 6 bucks a pound. I ran across some shrimp that were slightly smaller, slightly sad at Whole Foods later that same day. They were 15 bucks a pound..You're stupid if you don't go here."

I tried their Oysters for Thanksgiving they were large and Salty.I tried them again for Christmas they were out of 1/2 Gallon buckets so they used the Gallon buckets and I must say they were the smallest Oysters I have ever purchased in all of my 40 Years.I will take my long ride back to PJ'S it's worth the trip never been disappointed by their Oysters. This is coming from someone whose family has worked in the Oyster industry all my life.

Line is horrible. Received seafood quickly from kind people.HOWEVER, the 5lb special was definitely NOT 5lbs. A friend and I were talking about how they looked closer to 3.5 or 4 when another person chimed in saying they heard a lot of people who had went here were complaining about being "jipped".Crawfish was alright. There's better fish (or should I say crawfish) in the sea. You've been warned, but wish them the best.

Cant go wrong with Christian Brothers. Crawfish and shrimp are amazing and you get a bit of the "down da bayou" atmosphere as soon as you step inside. Dont forget to ask for Mrs. Sally's no bake cookies and stuffed crabs! And Doug is always helpful in getting anything you need. Love these guys!!

Yes it's a cinder block small building that looks like a low rent beer joint from the outside with a faded yellow sign on a post that says Cooter Brown's out front. Yes, the inside doesn't look much better. Yes it's in a town that has one stoplight. Yes it has competition in town from a grocery store deli, a Subway and a to go only Pizza Hut. And yes it has delicious food.I had lunch here last Saturday and chose the daily special which was a roast beef po boy. I added an order of fries and a drink and with tax it was $12 and change. While waiting for the food, I sat in the dining room thinking it kind of looked like a jail cell. The meal arrived about 10 minutes as they weren't busy. The po boy was on a 7" toasted bun dressed with lettuce, tomato and Mayo along with the roast beef and debris. It was absolutely delicious and sloppily good! One of the best roast beef po boys that I have had in a while. This po boy is only offered on Saturdays until they run out. The fries were hot and cooked properly and I am glad I ordered them. Here, they have squeeze bottles for the ketchup. I enjoyed this meal. Most of the menu here is seafood and when they get busy be prepared for a longer wait for the food as the kitchen is small. I would love to try a shrimp po boy with that toasted bread or really anything else on the menu. Closed Sunday and Monday.

We drive all the way from KY just to eat here! It's not a fancy place but their food, especially the crawfish are awesome. The staff are so sweet and they remembered us from the last visit. They also have a counter in the back where you can buy fresh seafood from them to cook yourself! We've made three trips so far and we plan on making this a yearly trip. We usually go down there for a long weekend, eat at Sal's a couple of times go fishing and enjoy the Bayou scenery. Sal's is on the west side of the river in Marrero. So if you're going to be in the area put Sal's into your itinerary you won't be disappointed!

"I must admit I was spoiled living so close to Jimbo's when I first moved to town, but now I truly appreciate the quality they offer. After moving across town, I tried a lot of closer places for crawfish...you know the story "I have a cousin that gets crawfish" or "I swear this place has the best prices"...and every time I've wished I had just driven to Jimbo's. Alas, in my old age, I've learned to go with what you know and the people who never waiver on quality. Jimbo's is locally owned, which is a huge bonus in my book as well as an honestly run place of business. If the crawfish are fragile, they'll let you know. If they're small, they'll let you know. These guys are by far some of the best people to do business with that I can think of....matter of fact, perhaps I shouldn't be letting the cat out of the bag on this spot...too late now, I guess.Even if you are looking for boiled crawfish or shrimp, Jimbo's will treat you like family. They are seasoned well and really have that South Louisiana flavor that I'm sure most of you appreciate. Don't be fooled or be lazy drive to Jimbo's or just end up looking crazy!!"
"This place is a bit divey, but it's definitely a hidden gem. The crawfish boil and potatoes were seasoned to perfection. The fish poboy was very crispy and not to oily. A side of the garlic butter sauce is a must. Very fair prices too."
"Best Boiled seafood on the island. Just make sure you give respect to the WWII vet chilling out once you walk in. He loves to talk to everyone but is a little quiet at first. also make sure you CALL IN your order FIRST. You may get there and they will be all sold out"
"Great shrimp!!!! Great pricing!!!! I'm not quite sure what the hours are, because whenever I pass this guy seems to be posted up working. I mean, I guess he sleeps. But whatever his hours, I'm glad he's always in place when I need some of the scrumptious, succulent, jumbo sized shrimp. These shrimp are great sized for gumbo, BBQ shrimp, po-boy or whatever your shrimpy pleasure.I like that he's on the side of the road & accepts credit cards, debit cards etc; that's a plus because I just don't carry cash. Additionally, even though most times he's a one man operation, he gets the job done. I've seen a line 6 people deep & he managed to get it down without anyone complaining. He takes his time weighs them out, places them inside a bag, then rolls them in newspaper, several sheets thick, might I add. I've taken shrimp back home to New Orleans without even as much as a drop of 'shrimp juice' leaking out the bag & no shrimpy smell either. I'm impressed. This is my shrimp depot when I'm in the area."
"Friendly staff and great service. Boiled crawfish was hot and seasoned to perfection."
"This place is an absolute disappointment and disgrace to seafood. Not only do they not wash or purge their crawfish, but they also sell them ice cold, sitting out at room temperature for HOURS after boiling. Bought them at 5 PM and were boiled at 12:30 PM, been sitting out since. The crawfish were FULL of mud and smelled/tasted like fish. I think someone should get this place inspected. Horrible. Check the photo for the mud/dirt on the crawfish."
"Quantity!! Lots of food, inexpensive, and tastes pretty damn good. Everything was cook properly, moist seafood with a nice crisp crust. Everything tasted fresh. For the entree we split the mixed seafood boat which is fried shrimp, oysters, fish, seasoned French fries and onions served in an entire loaf of fresh baked bread coated in butter. This item is a little pricey but could easily feed 4 people with leftovers. We also had the fried green tomatoes appetizer. I thought the large amount of sauce would possibly make the tomatoes soggy but they were nice and crispy. I think the tomatoes could stand on their own without all the sauce and other toppings, but overall pretty yummy. This portion was also huge! My biggest complaint was that the place could use a sprucing up. Fresh coat of paint and a scrubbing. Besides that, overall four stars."
"Best seafood in town! I love their boiled crawfish, always well seasoned. I also love their boiled crabs, I eat them until I'm stuffed. I've tried many other places in Hammond, but nothing tops this one."
"Red beans and rice with fried chicken!! (With really soft cornbread. I would love to stop by again if I find myself in Mississippi again :D"
"I am the self proclaimed 'Crawfish Queen' of our household, just ask Matt. I have a serious addiction to these little mudbugs and as a result I've tried just about every place that sells boiled crawfish within a 5 mile radius of our home. I've got to give it to the guys who run this business, hence the 5 stars!, because they're serving up some of the most flavorful, well seasoned and largest crawfish in the area and quite possibly in the entire city of New Orleans! I have several places I've visited in the past when I'm in the mood for boiled crawfish, but since discovering Lil Kat's Seafood I have to admit I've all but abandoned them. Lil Kat's is located on W Metairie, in the same strip as Come Back Inn. I've been going to Come Back Inn going on eight years now, but have only discovered Lil Kat's within the past 6 months. All I think nowadays is WHY did it take me so long to try this hidden gem!?! I may never know the answer to that question- but I have seen the light that is Lil Kat's and it draws me in like a mosquito in the night every single time the word crawfish crosses my mind, which to be completely honest is pretty much every other day. Like Teneha B. said, I now try to find any excuse to sneak over here to grab a few pounds of their amazing crawfish! However a word to the wise- if it's a holiday weekend you may want to do some planning in advance because they have been known to run out of crawfish (boiled and live) towards the end of the day. I've never had an issue when I stop by around lunch time, but I stopped by last weekend around 5pm to grab a few pounds for dinner and they had already run out and another small batch wouldn't be ready for another hour. I damn near lost it, and wandered around aimlessly like a drifter- because like I said before, I have all but abandoned my previous crawfish suppliers. No one's boiling them like Lil Kat's! So instead of getting boiled crawfish from somewhere else only to be extremely disappointed, I just opted for something else entirely and went for Dungeness crab which worked out quite nicely. Needless to say that as I write this review, I have yet to get my weekly crawfish fix so I will certainly be making up for that this coming weekend! Lil Kat's is DEFINITELY worth the trip from wherever you are coming from, be it Baton Rouge or the West Bank. I will advise that they don't have anywhere for you to sit and eat inside/or outside of the restaurant, so plan accordingly. If you don't live nearby, maybe bring a big blanket and head out to Lafreniere Park for a picnic. No matter where you decide to eat them, just get on over there and try them!"
"Living in Texas you don't get the pleasure of having good seafood places on every corner. Luckily, on my trip my Airbnb was only about 5 minutes away from DAT Cajun seafood. I woke up on a hunt for some seafood & boom just under $20 I got exactly what I needed. I ordered 1lb of crawfish, which were quite large & flavorful, a turkey neck & two meat pies. Listen, if I could eat those meat pies every day I would. I wish I ordered more of the hot foods but maybe next time. I'm not sure what people expect coming to places like this but just order your food, CHECK YOUR FOOD (it's clearly posted to do so -- reading is fundamental) & fill your stomach up. Don't come here looking for extraordinary customer service or a table to sit down at. There are plenty of food options to choose from to get something to go at a cheap price, you can't get that every where!"
"Tried them for the first time. All I can say is that the reviews about the Catfish is totally RIGHT! The size of the bun is fairly big so no worries if you are really hungry. The negative part of the whole experience was that they do not have a table and if you want to eat at the location you would have to hold it on your lap but it wasn't bad enough to deduct a star from them. Plenty of parking space in front. They also have many other items like a supermarket that u can purchase. They are like a "If it's eatable, we have it" place lolThe owner was Asian and very nice."
"This is an awesome little crawfish hut with a drive thru or walk up window. They have boiled shrimp and crawfish as well as uncooked by the pound. They have a few other items as well. I got a crawfish boudin for $2 and some change (forget exact price) and it was awesome! It was super hot and tasted fresh. The boiled crawfish was great and reasonably priced. The service was super friendly and super fast! Everything was ready immediately. Check this place out instead of your typical fast food. You won't be disappointed!"
"Threes best sausage ever! The cane sausage is amazing. Going to try the jalapeno pineapple chicken, it sounds great!"
"We have been here 4 times and every time the crawfish have been outstanding. The people here have always been helpful and nice. The price Is a little higher then live but the seasoning is perfect in my opinion. We will be coming back."
"if you want real authentic fresh poboy fish sandwish this is the place.. but they have have mich more dont miss coming here you wont regret it...."
"Let me start by said "oh dats so good ol crawfish"! This has got to be the best crawfish I have ever eaten! We went into Sid's on a Saturday afternoon and they were packed! This is a family owned business and we usually see only two people working here. One thing I believe they could use an update as far as appearance goes as well as a good cleaning. Though this is a small outdated place this is where you know you will get some good southern food. Speedy service, good customer service, and great food!"
"It was so nice to see a seafood market in Saint Rose. The place looks so clean and tidy. Really put together. The first time I visited with my husband we bought a couple pounds of boiled shrimp and small tub of seafood gumbo. The shrimp was excellent. Easy to peel and the sauce they sold with it was delicious. The gumbo I had the next day at lunch. It was surprisingly tasty as gumbo is one of those dishes that is either a hit or miss. This was a total hit! I went back a few weeks later to buy a larger container of the gumbo. The gumbo was great yet again. Today we went back and we were greeted with a nice hello and felt welcome as we have before. The service has been top notch as they offered a sample of their boiled oysters to me so I could decide if I wanted to buy more. However, I didn't need a sample this time. I trusted that they would be good and I'm glad I did. They were also great. I'm definitely going to back in the next week or so. I feel I will visit Papa T's as often as I visit the snoball stand."
"For several decades, the Manning family (not that one, exactly) has fished, processed, packaged and shipped live blue crab throughout the U.S., largely to California, the Pacific NW and points along the Eastern Seaboard. I've cooked and eaten crab purchased from Fishing Jim Seafood for years. Reliable, dependable and friendly, these folks are a pleasure to do business with."
"We've been itching for crawfish, and even though the prices are still up there, we caved in and bought some boiled crawfish today from Berthelot's since it's a quick and convenient drive for us. The crawfish was BLAND with a little kick (you can definitely taste the natural flavors of the crawfish if you catch my drift...). The corn was okay, but the potatoes are bland as if they were boiled in plain water. And don't get me started on the turkey neck. When y'all get turkey neck from other places, you get the whole neck. Here, it's like they only give you a piece of it. WTH? They also charge $4 PER SAUSAGE LINK, and $2 per pair for potatoes and corn. A little too pricey for what you get. At least add more flavor to the boil and it'll be worth the price."
"This is my 3rd time here, and man I'm telling you these folks have some of the best tasting Crawfish in this city. I should also mention they are cheaper by as much as a dollar a pound. Crawfish are plentiful right now and most places are charging over $4.00 a pound. That is Highway robbery for Crawfish. There in one place on Chef Hwy. charging over $5.00 a pound. That is absolutly crazy. But I digress, Michael's is the real deal. If I'm willing to drive from the other side of town 10 pounds minimum is in order. When I got them home they went like wild fire. I was left wondering why I didn't get more. $3.24 was the price today which is reasonable compared to the others. Top of my list now."
"I have been traveling to New Orleans for nearly 40 years. One of the best restaurants in the city. Don't let the outside or inside of this place fool you. Typically New Orleans restaurants that look like holes in the wall are generally the BEST. Love love the food. Incredible Gumbo. Red Beans and Rice to die for. Hell everything is excellent. Be patient. The restaurant is very small. Its a bit hard to see. The parking lot is difficult. But for those who are wanting a real New Orleans style dinning with out going down to the French Quarter you cannot miss this place."
"It is good for what it is! Great place to grab fresh seafood... service could use some improvement. Love that they now take credit cards. Hard to run a business without this now a days. Came here on Easter Sunday and they still had plenty of crawfish and live crabs. Their prices are fair and are relatively competitive compared to the surrounding markets. Worth the drive - crawfish in NOLA is much more expensive. Plently of parking!"
