"Similar concept as chipotle but not as much salt (possibly not as much flavor). I enjoyed the lightness and freshness of my bowl, and would return in the future.GLOWS:-The menu options are expansive. There is something for everyone -I didnt try the dessert, but they have dessert options and many frozen margarita drinks. -The restaurant has a good amount of seats, which made dining in on a whim a breeze.GROWS:-The bowls are on the smaller side when dining in. I didn't feel my bowl was packed like it could have been, especially the protein"
"12/6/24: It has been some time since we last went to Los Jefes. When we first went there, it was absolutely incredible on all levels but then, things changed and the quality of the drinks and food went down. On our last visit the fajitas were incredibly salty and we did not even finish them.Well, THEY ARE BACK! I am very happy to say this! We went there last week and had the chicken and steak fajitas and they were incredible once again. Great flavor, well seasoned, cooked to perfection.I have one big complaint, however, and it has something to do with their supplier. In my wife's and my opinion, the shells they provide to you for the fajitas are an absolute joke. Taco Bell's shells are larger. Every other Mexican food restaurant I have gone to are larger. Really, guys, I don't want to hear about your supplier, I could not care less and really do not want excuses. Then, the bartender has the Gaul to tell us that they are designed more for pushing than making a fajita! DO NOT tell me how to eat my meal and do not come up with such a poor excuse. This place has great Margaritas. Donnie is an incredible chef putting out the best Fajitas in the city! Don't insult your restaurant, your customers, and Donnie and give your customers Fajita shells that would be better suited to little hands in a grade school cafeteria!"

"Velvet Cactus is the most unique Mexican gem in the city! The ambiance of this place is unbeatable, with excellent indoor and outdoor seating. A great place to dress up for a girls night, or dress down for a casual dinner. Especially during the Christmas season, they offer bubble tents and transform the place into a winter wonderland. Everything I have tried here has been great! But my all time favorites are the salsa and the cheese grits. I crave both of them! I recommend getting the taco plates. They are super yummy with a better portion. Most of the plates they offer are big portions so I normally have a lot to take home. They also have yummy margaritas with a great happy hour! The service is great too with very nice and thoughtful servers. Our server came to check on us and refilled anything we needed. Love love love!!"
"My favorite location for sure. The bartenders know what they're doing, and the food is always fresh. This location is also family friendly with an outdoor seating area with faux grass and shaded tables. The staff is always friendly and ready to serve. Check it out if you haven't already."
"My son insisted on going to eat here. We love the food! Everything is served hot and fresh. The service is always on point. The manager checked on us at our table, which I appreciate. We truly enjoyed our taco dishes. The pork and brisket tacos are so flavorful and tasty."
"Beautiful, light-filled ambiance with lots of colorful art. Really strong service. Johana was friendly, attentive and quick.Food was amazing. Huge portions! Lovvvveeeedddd the tortilla soup. The sweet plantains and original guacamole have me dreaming of having them again. Highly recommend!"
"Great Mexican food! We loved everything we got. Very busy but the service was still great. Everything came out hot and delicious. The queso was delicious and the fajitas. Will definitely come back here again!"
"We were in the area, and this looked like a decent place to try. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and seated. Chips, salsa (very good salsa), and refried black bean dip were brought to the table. Mexican music is playing over the speakers, giving you a good vibe. Our server was awesome and made sure we didn't want anything. My wife had the quesodilla along with the grilled veggies and loved it.I had rhe brisket enchiladas and while it was good. I expected it to be more. The brisket was dried out shreds of beef. No brisket flavor.Overall, the place was pretty good. We even got a 20% discount for checking in on Yelp."
"4 stars because of service, but food was more of a 3. The aesthetics of Casa Borrega definitely win you over, but if you're not a fan of loud dinners - maybe skip this spot. They had some live music which was fantastic, but definitely made it hard to hear. Everyone was yelling over each other. We started off with the queso, salsa, and chips. One of the salsas had really great flavor and potential, but was so watery you could barely even pick it up with the chip. The queso had a grainy texture - we couldn't decide if we liked it or didn't like it. Chicken tinga meat in the tacos had absolutely no flavor, but the salsa that came with it helped to give it some kind of punch. Quesadilla was good though, and so was the elote! Really delicious!"
"We love this place! We ordered the margaritas of course & they were awesome. The flautas & super burrito were amazing. They do not serve anything that doesn't taste amazing. The service was just as great. Becky at the bar gave excellent service. We will definitely be back often. I highly recommend this place."
"Came here on a Tuesday afternoon. The place wasn't crowded but there was plenty of servers, who were all super friendly. Even the manager came out to speak with me.I ordered the vegetarian tacos and subbed the mushrooms for black beans. It was so delicious! The rice was ok and corn was cool. The house margarita was delicious! I definitely look forward to coming back. Hopefully more menu items can be made vegetarian."
"Excellent meal, Julia treated us excellent with a beautiful smile. Perfect service. Food was excellent... ordered three beef tacos and rice and beans. Ambiance is great. Super clean"

Quick Mexican food option, nice seating area. Fairly casual. Very reasonably priced, great options.I got a small chips and queso. The queso tasted like a beer white cheese to me. I enjoyed it! Then I did two make your own tacos. I like that they include guacamole. Both the Al pastor and chicken had a nice flavor/good quality. My only negative was there was a bone piece (or something hard) in my chicken taco.

My husband and I recently had lunch at Los Jefe and it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, perfect for a mid-day meal.We started with the Shrimp and Crawfish Queso, which we shared. It was absolutely delicious, with a perfect blend of flavors and just the right amount of spice. My husband ordered the Southwest Egg Rolls as his appetizer, and they were a hit--crispy on the outside and filled with a tasty, well-seasoned mix inside. For my main course, I had the Chicken and Shrimp Fajitas. The fajitas were sizzling and packed with flavor, with tender chicken and shrimp accompanied by fresh vegetables. The portion was generous and satisfying. To top it off, we took advantage of the $5 margaritas on Monday, which were both refreshing and a great value.Overall, Los Jefe provided an exceptional lunch experience with delicious food, great drinks, and attentive service. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it!

This place is so beautiful like a jungle oasis at the beginning of Harrison coming from the park. They have a happy hour that offers 2 for 1 margaritas frozen and house and I was happy with the strawberry frozen set I got for $12.95.

My son and I have had nice eating experiences at this Felipe's restaurant. Parking is a bit of a challenge if you have a full-sized vehicle. Their parking lot is tight, and the spaces small. If you have a full-sized vehicle you may want to park on the street. You stand in line to order and then pick up your order & pay at the cash register. I have tried a few different main course items but always come back to my favorite, the spicy chicken tinga Super Burrito. You can watch them make your choice and they have multiple options for cheese & veggie addition options. They are filling and they are good. Soft drinks & tea are a bit pricy at $3 per. Refills are included. They have several options for eating locations, both inside & outside. Enjoy!

I had my birthday dinner here 1/3/2025. Love the decor, bright and colorful, true to culture. The offerings are a bit of different Latin cultures (Mexican, Nicaraguan, Venezuelan, etc). Lots of vegetarian options, but not necessarily vegan. We ordered mojitos and caipirinhas in a variety of flavors. If I had to choose, I would say go for the caipirinhas over the mojitos. For appetizers we ordered guacamole, spinach empanadas and calamari. I appreciate that the food didn't take a long time to arrive. My dish was the enchiladas rojas and it was very flavorful and large portion size. The spinach empanadas were incredible. I would go back just for that! We enjoyed our time there.

if you come at happy hour, you can get a margarita for three dollars oh my God that is so cheap the chips and salsa are just OK. You can ask for a spicier salsa taste a little bit better if you like spicy, I ordered a chimichanga with a side of rice and beans and it was pretty good. Not bad for this area to try to get Mexican food.

There's a reason if you Google best Mexican food in BR Mi padres comes up.Our server was friendly, the guacamole was on point, the queso wasn't my favorite but that's ok ;) I stuck to the guac and the black beans.I had the steak street tacos which were super flavorful and the perfect amount of food. The rest of our party had tacos, various quesadillas and burritos and every plate was cleaned!

"In my opinion, one of the top Mexican choices in the area.*Perfectly spiced food and freshly made cocktails.*Easy parking. also available behind the restaurant. Just drive around the block*One watch point is that the staff can get easily overwhelmed once busy. So be patient...*Clean bathrooms*Need to ask them about specials, they aren't advertised well. Support local, eat local! Enjoy"
"My family and our large party of 22 ate at Superior Tuesday, and our waitress Alena was FABULOUS with our huge party. The vibe is always on point especially with the live music. All of the staff were super attentive, efficient and so friendly. Our food was hot and delicious! Our glasses stayed filled and our chips and salsa stayed plentiful. Looking forward to another visit!"
"Taqueria Corona has been around for at least 25 years and is such a local favorite. They are a bit under the radar, as hipster and trendy Mexican places like Juan's and Val's get a lot of attention. But Taqueria Corona consistently puts out delicious food at an amazing value. Grab a window seat and you can people watch on Magazine Street. You can't go wrong with any of the menu items. Service is always cheerful and attentive. Love this place!!"
"I had the mole enchiladas as well as birria tacos and pastor tacos. Everything was tasty! We had queso and chips and two rounds of margaritas. We came as a group of ten, both adults and kids, and we didn't want to overwhelm the staff and kitchen. We never felt rushed and the woman who took our order was very accommodating and patient with us. Our food came quickly and hot and she replenished our margaritas on time! It's like she read our minds. This is a great place for taco Tuesday. A very cozy place with the authentic feel. We'll definitely return!"
"Best salsa! Love their ceviche too! Like everything and Dave the bartender makes sure you are taken care of. Thanks Casa for being a local favorite"
"I had the lengua tacos and my husband had the Birria tacos. Both were amazing, as well as the appetizer and cocktail! Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!"
"Definitely coming back here! We came out here for lunch. If you're not paying attention, you'll miss it. It is a quaint building painted in bright colors with a really cool beach vibe. Parking is pretty limited but available on the side and behind the building. Upon arrival, you go in and order your food at the counter. They have a lot of great options. I went with the tamale pie. It had four tamales and a bunch of toppings and was just absolutely delicious. I truly loved it! The flavors were rich and felt very authentic. They have a tiny bar and a couple of tables inside and a few picnic tables outside. Since it was a beautiful day, we sat outside and enjoyed the warm weather. We didn't have to wait too long before an employee brought out our yummy food. It was a great experience all around! They do serve a variety of beers and regular drinks. I think I also spied a margarita in a bottle although I just purchased a water. I'm sure I'll know more in the future because I'm definitely coming back here when I get a chance!"
"Great tacos. Cute atmosphere inside and out. Haven't tried the tell tale margaritas yet, to make this. Make or break review lol bc I love them."
"What a great little gem! This place is amazing!! Everything here is super tasty!! The birria tacos are delicious!!"
"My partner and I order from Burritos Grill often and we always get the fajita chicken nachos or the shredded chicken nachos. It comes with a side of guac, jalapeños and the necessary toppings! I also really like their guacamole. We love how things aren't piled on but instead each chip has all the ingredients! Love that. Flavorful.Tacos are solid too! I'd recommend."
"Fast, friendly, and something about their menu is just different than other restaurants of similar concepts. This is a place that every local cherishes."
"Wished I had come here sooner because the food here is PRETTY DARN GOOD!-The barbocoa and lengua taco were juicy, tender, and mouth-watering! -The baledas was awesome, too. What is a baledas? It's an American-style soft taco slathered in refried black beans and a bit of white farmers' cheese, then folded over. -And lastly, the pupusas was the best one I've ever had in my life. Pupusas are thick corn tortillas that can be stuffed with various fillings, including various meats, refried beans, cheese, and even squash flowers.Overall, you gotta come here! And I'll definitely be coming back!"
"I've had two consistently good meals at Taqueria Corona. Both times the service has been excellent. My husband and I both got the numero uno y medio. I got the house salad, carne asada taco, the bean burrito, and the shrimp flauta. My husband got the fish taco, bean burrito and shrimp flauta. We also started with the dip trio. Everything was delicious! I love the grilled green onions on the carne asada taco and the steak is seasoned and tender, not tough or over cooked. I will definitely return!"
"I always see a line outside of this Taqueria, so it was time to investigate for myself. We ordered, 4 fajita(carne asada) tacos, a chicken quesadilla, a fajita burrito and and an chicken enchilada plate. The total came to 36$, amazing. There's a limited outside seating area and a small stand table, if you're ready to grab a quick bite and run. I noticed traditional Mexican soft drinks available for sale, but our group opted to take ours to go. The beef tacos were a delicious street variety that I love and featured two hot sauces. Standard, double corn tortilla with cilantro and onion. Add hot sauce and a squeeze of lime and kapow! Your on the streets of Mexico. The burrito and quesadilla loaded with meat and cheese disappeared in no time flat. Questions regarding the doses were met with slurps, grunts and head nods. Jack happily said the quesadilla was very cheesy. Here comes the wah-wah.....When I opened the enchilada plate box, there were no enchiladas, only rice, beans and a salad. Insert crying face here. We were too far away to go back and I double checked the math. Yep they charged me. I'm super chill and mistakes happen. I communicated in broken Spanish, so I could have checked myself. Luckily, we ordered extra tacos, so I had something to eat. I was a happy camper, just slightly bummed. I'll still be back for tacos, but I'm gonna try the tongue next time......that's my favorite."
"Taqueria Habaneros is a fantastic place for some wonderful food in Slidell, Louisiana. The birria here is absolutely amazing and the service is friendly and engaging. I have often said that the best Mexican food is found in hole-in-the-wall type restaurants such as Taqueria Habaneros. This place is nothing fancy, but that's perfectly fine. The food here is the real star of the show here. All in all, Taqueria Habaneros is a great choice for Mexican food if you are in the Slidell, Louisiana area. I would definitely recommend here and I give it an overall review of five stars. Go check it out."
"I've visited all the locations of Taqueria Corona and I most often visit the location on Magazine Street in New Orleans while I visit this location in Harahan the least simply as a matter of logistics. The food at all the locations of Taqueria Corona taste consistently good and the service is also typically very attentive. During the pandemic lockdowns I ended up visiting this location in Harahan more frequently than I ever had before so I really got my Taqueria Corona on...Overall they always are making good food here and they have food that is a bit different from the typical Mexican food you tend to get at other areas restaurants."
"After coming here the second time, I got a way better experience. The service improved, and the food that I got was all delicious. I may not have gotten the right thing the last time that I was here. From the last time that I was here, the waitress and also cashier was the same person. This did not change. However, there was a second person that came by to help us refill on water and help bring food to the table. My friends and I sat down and got our food relatively quickly after ordering it. The waitress gave us chips and dip and kept supplying it if we requested it. She was a really great waitress. She also filled up our waters when we were running low. She was really helpful and provided us with exceptional service. The food that I got was amazing. I posted a few photos, but the beef burrito and the beef taco were both really tasty. The beef burrito was quite big and had a lot of stuffing in it. It was hard for me to finish it after having the taco. It was well worth the price for me (7.99 for a burrito) and it tasted great as well! The taco was really great, too. The beef was juicy and seasoned well. The tacos were stuffed beyond what I could eat. I had to pickup the parts that fell and ate it afterwards. This place has improved so much since I came here the first time. Therefore for the taste of the food and the service that I received that day, I am bringing my review of this place up from a 3 to a 5 star. You definitely just have to get the right items to eat such as the taco, the gorditas, the tostadas, and the baleadas. I am definitely recommending this place for people to try."
"Food is always fresh and the family always greets you with a smile. We love to support local businesses and this is one that we support OFTEN! Ambiance is authentic and very very clean."
"People from work love this place. Before I start this review I need to provide you with a caveat. I do enjoy Mexican food but it is not my favorite cuisine. What does this mean for you? Well, it doesn't really mean anything to you specifically. What I mean is that when I end up here it is because I have grown tired of deciding where to go and leaving the choice up to my co-workers.La Carreta is not bad. In fact, it is a decent place to get Mexican food for lunch. My go-to order is the fajitas, usually steak fajitas. I hear if you eat a bunch of red meat it is really good for you which is why I chose this item. The fajitas are decent but have never blown me away with flavor. I would say they are pretty standard fajitas. Me, I like fajitas that are super flavorful and these just don't do it for me.The shining star of Carreta is their wait staff. Every time we have visited we have had a great server. We usually have a large group and they handle us with ease. Parking is also easy and plentiful."
"Had to run an errand nearby and was craving Mexican. The empty parking lot threw me off but it was early for lunch. I'm so glad I took a chance here! The queso was delicious and the lunch portions were generous. My hubs had the fajitas and I had one of the vegetarian options. Would definitely return if in the area!"
"I love authentic Mexican food. This place is great if you have ever had real Mexican food. I didn't even need the menu that is stacked right at the counter. Immediately I walked up to the counter and told the lady that I wanted a burrito with everything in it. She knew right away what to order for me, but better than that the cook heard me and knew exactly what to make me. The front counter lady, who was extremely welcoming and friendly to me, asked me what meat I wanted but before I could say want I wanted the cook stepped in and said I can make you a burrito with both chicken and steak. Immediately in heaven, I had only been there two minutes, and they formulated a burrito exactly the way I wanted. The lady told me that the burrito had rice, pico de gayo, cheese, and everything else you expect a burrito to have. Once I got my order in a to-go box she gave me a red sauce and a green sauce in two separate containers. These are their hot sauces; warning RED is for the pros; if you can't handle the heat GO GREEN! The burrito was made to perfection. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had plenty of flavors. The steak mixed in what tender and balanced well with the chicken. The rice was cooked just right and mixed well with everything inside. I was drooling as I was eating. Yes this was a heavy meal and no it didn't come with a side of rice and beans, but you don't need it because it had everything in it. I then added some of the RED hot sauce and man was it good, but the burn lingers, and it stays with you. So if you like heat and flavor, this is the sauce for you. The red sauce is so powerful it made the Green Sauce taste like water. The Green sauce is okay and is for people that just want a little spice in their life. This place was so good with the burrito I had to go back for their Taco Tuesday special. So on Tuesday, I showed up with a friend, the same lady was there and this time she treated me even nicer almost like family. So I ordered like family, again I didn't need the menu, and I ordered two street Mexican Tacos of Pastor and two shrimp tacos. My friend ordered 4 American-style tacos with chicken and beef. He had never had street tacos, so I ordered him one shrimp and one steak. Long story short, he first had the American Tacos, then the Mexican street tacos, and hated going back. The Mexican street tacos are full of cilantro onions and have a fresh, grilled flavor. Mixed with their hot sauce and a fresh squeeze of lime, it will take you directly to the streets of Mexico. The pastor tacos are amazing, this was the first time I had a place make them so good I could taste the pineapple pieces. The shrimp tacos were just as amazing and I wanted to eat more. Places like this make me happy to be a traveling foodie. This place is hard to find and about 20 minutes from Keesler AFB, but when you find it save it because you will be back for more. I promise you!"
"Delicious food and margaritas with a view! After being super disappointed in Happy Hour and service at Patio 44, we kept going down the street and landed on Juan Tequila's. The restaurant is bright and colorful and works for parties of all sizes. There's plenty of parking available in the lot, as well. Our waitress greeted us with a bright smile and sat us at a table on their balcony with a view of the Gulf. Because it was happy hour, we ordered their "two for 5.99" margarita special. The margaritas were delightful. We also did an appetizer sampler and it was the perfect treat to go with the margs. Everything was delicious. Our waitress kept checking on us and kept the chips and salsa coming! It was such a great experience and I definitely plan to come back soon for dinner and I have to try their to-go daiquiris!Thank you, Juan Tequila, for the great experience!"
"This is definitely a hidden gem. Located in the I-10 service road, you might have driven past this place millions of times and not even noticed it was there. This is the place to go for authentic Mexican tacos. They also have green and orange spicy sauces that ate bomb!! It's a great price too. The food definitely makes up for the lack of aesthetic. 10/10"
