"I found this shop by accident last year....beautiful designs, fabrics and jewelry at more than fair prices for such unique designs. I finally purchased a bad and a choker necklace. I am not much of a shopper - so I'm always aware I won't exactly be anyones best customer- but, they treated me like I was. They are warm and welcoming. I am looking forward to adding to a collection of really stunning clothing and jewelry as I can. This really is a special shop."
"Happened upon the store while taking a walk. We are staying at Bed & Breakfast on the Point. Fell in love with the unique gifts and jewelry. She even customized earrings for me on the spot! Got a cute voodoo doll there as well I plan to keep on my sofa at home in Texas. I will be back next month and be back! Thank you for your hospitality."
"Lots of Mardi Gras decorations ! And ribbons for u to make ur own and they also sell wreaths and stuff they make ! A little pricey but what isn't these days . I did g realize they were located off of vets but now that I found them I'm deff going to be coming back ! Nice quality items and very knowledgeable staff"
"I walked in knowing that I wanted nothing but the label pearls. I'm not a savvy jewelry buyer, but the sales Lady Michelle or Melissa, I can't remember, was very patient and helpful, she found me the perfect piece for my girlfriend, and I wound up buying the whole set. Girlfriend went crazy over it, score one for me, score one for Sue's jewelry."
"This is one of those places that *I know* I've reviewed previously but poof it's gone. Bead shop is a great spot to buy: beads (duh), jewelry making supplies, beading kits, jewelry, local art, crystals, and a host of other things. The staff is helpful and friendly. The place is CHOCKFUL of stuff so leave the big bag at home because you'll be knocking stuff over with it. Not only do they have a masking Indian suit in the window, they offer discounts to these NOLA culture bearers. Remember to use their baskets and little baggies so you don't have to retrace your steps and figure out how much things cost. (Been there done that.)Parking is on the street."
"Randomly stopped in Thanksgiving weekend of 2011. My fiancé had been looking for this impossible ring and Couronne promised that they could deliver this custom ring. We were so excited. We were told that it would be two weeks to make and ship the ring. After about a month, we had nothing. They used the excuse that they had moved and were still getting things in order, which I believe that this was a lie as their address still hasn't changed a year later. We were lucky to even have someone answer the phone and when we did it was very unprofessional. I believe that it was the owner, Craig's, personal sell phone and he just answers, "Hello." I was always worried that I called the wrong number and had to ask if this was the jewelry store. At first we were patient, calling every other week to check the status of our order. Praying that somebody would answer the phone. Craig would always say that the ring was on his desk, but two weeks would pass by and still no ring. This went on for about 3 or 4 months before we finally had enough. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which I just noticed that their accreditation was finally revoked, before they finally started to make any effort. They jumped right onto the problem, sent the package, and gave us a tracking number as we requested. When the ring finally arrived, it was horrible. We asked for a line of five diamonds in the ring and it looked like a 5 year olds art project. The line of diamonds were crooked. They were also not flush with one another, the diamonds overlapped in some places. The cut into the ring was not straight. We immediately called and requested our money back for this joke of a ring. They were quick to refund the money, but it didn't seem like the right amount. We had originally ordered two rings, the custom and a regular one. We were never given a breakdown of charges so I called Craig to ask how much the regular one was because he was charging us $250 when it retails online for $100. I called a couple of times and I never got an answer. I finally gave up.All in all, I don't know how this man has been in business for 40 years. He lacks customer service and from the looks of the ring we received, the talent to be called a jeweler. Avoid this place at all cost!!"
"Bad vibes be gone! If you're into healing crystals and gemstones of all sorts, come to this gem in the French Quarter. The employees who work there are super duper nice. When my daughter and I walked into the shop, there was a very sweet woman standing near the door greeting us. But I think she felt offended when I accidentally referred the gemstones as "rocks". For the newbies, please call them gemstones/healing crystals upon entering this place or you'll get the stinky eye from the employees. Personally, I like to label them healing crystals. Anyway, I spend a long time in the store reading the meanings behind all the gemstones. I ended up buying a cute rose quartz and tiger-eye bracelet, and a basket full of different gemstones for less than $30. The employee working the cash register put all my items in a cute baggy along with their business card. If you're visiting the French Quarter, please stop by this shop and support. You will find the best souvenirs in here. I would cry if this place ever went out of business. This store is one of the main reasons why I love coming to New Orleans, aside from the oyster bars, daquiris, and good southern food."
"I went to this establishment a couple of weeks looking for some shades that a friend had on. It was too much going on. And the owner was all over the place. I also picked up some earrings and lost one cause the backs were too big for them. They kept slipping off until eventually I finally lost them. Definitely won't recommend this business. It was a waste of a ride to the westbank"
"What a fun store to check out while in the Garden District. They have so much cute trinkets to buy, especially if you're looking for Mardi Gras related trinkets! The upstairs was really cool and bizarre. You just have to see it for yourself LOL.My friend was left upstairs and did notice some things randomly drop, it tripped her out and she ran back downstairs. The staff did confirm that they have noticed some paranormal activity there, but nothing bad! Just a friendly ghost :) One other bizaare thing is that they've got a taxidermy deer merry go round that you can pay $5 for to ride it."
"For the first time ever, Fleurty Girl let me down. Something about this store changed and while some people may find it better, this guy did not.So first, lets try and figure out the answer to the question you're bound to ask. Why is a dude named John in a store with the word girl? Look, it's 2019 you judgmental randos. But really, FG used to be a great place to get small gifts. It was always my go-to at Christmas to get stocking stuffers and small LA themed items. So this past Christmas I was on my way down Causeway Blvd when I decided this would be the place to stop to get something for my kids.Going shopping in Metaire during the Christmas season was probably my first mistake. Parking was limited and the store was packed with people. Everyone who knows me knows I am very patient and love crowds so that didn't bother me in the least (sarcasm font in case you didn't get it).Despite the crowds I knew I needed some stuff for juveniles so I perused the store. I couldn't find anything. It wasn't because there was a lack of stuff, the store was filled with stuff. It just seems that there has been a shift towards more expensive items. Again, maybe it was just the time of year, but I had hoped to find some cheap necklaces or costume jewelry pieces and couldn't find anything that fit what I wanted. One bad experience doesn't really sour me on the chain as a whole. My other experiences here have been great. Will I be back? I am sure I will since it is right on my route to and from work. Lets hope the next time I can find the items I want."
"You come in to the store to purchase admission to the 1850 house, and buy other various items related to. The store is neat, clean, and well organized. The lady working was very friendly and helpful. Admission is reasonably priced, and everything for sale seemed to be reasonably priced as well."
"This gorgeous shop is any glamour girls dream! What caught my eye and got me into this shop were the lovely tiaras in the window. Honestly, I really want one, but I sometimes wonder if that's a level of "the most" that I'm not ready to approach just yet. Walking in, there are all kinds of high end sparklies that any woman would love. This is really high end costume jewelry, not the cheapo stuff that you might find at the mall (not that I have any issue with the cheapo stuff). They have an entire table full of different rhinestone tiaras and another table full of rhinestone masks. If you're looking for something for a ball or a costume party, this is definitely the place. They even have a case full of rhinestone crowns, if you are really feeling regal and want to add some fancy head gear to your collection. The shop owner was very sweet and asked if I needed help and informed me of the items that were for sale. I didn't purchase anything this time, but I do really want a fancy tiara, so I will eventually be back."

The cutest handcrafted store I've ever seen! The owner is friendly and a pleasure to talk to. Her handcrafted jewelry is chic and stylish - with tons of choices at reasonable prices, there's certainly something for everybody. I picked up a couple mugs and skin lotions as gifts. The lotions are from a local farm and smell delicious. There's something for every price point at this adorable shop!

I don't even want to give Craig Von Babylon 1 star, but I am forced to in order to leave a review.I am a Los Angeles based Jewelry designer that was visiting New Orleans when I met Craig. I set up a consignment contract with Craig to showcase 15 pieces of mine in his jewelry store. My pieces were all one of a kind solid gold and pearl jewelry. At first, he seemed very kind, polite and enthusiastic to work together. Unfortunately, politeness, professionalism and communication completely halted once I left New Orleans. No matter how many times I attempted to get a hold of Craig, I was constantly ignored. He did not respond to any emails, phone calls or texts for years. Although this happened over 5 years ago, I will never forget this experience for the rest of my life.To my opinion, Craig Von Babylon is a thief, I have not yet received any of my jewelry, any checks or even communication from Craig. I am writing this review to let people know Craig is a dangerous person to do business with. Pleas avoid this person and any company he is associated with.

"I come to Trendz whenever I need cute jewelry! They have the trendiest, most fashionable and gorgeous earrings and accessories. They also have a few clothing items but not enough to make it a boutique. There's something for every occasion and can cater to anyone's style! 4.5/5 stars because my initial visit was not very ideal. However, I'm glad I gave them another try!"
"Cool shop with great souvenirs that are not tacky and generic. They have a great selection of tees with great designs. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend this place to get some gifts if in the area."
"A gorgeous little boutique of art and jewelry in the French Quarter. Came in here just to look, and my friends and I ended up walking out with some new bling, and unique art pieces you can't find anywhere else (or at least not easily found)."
"They saw me on site with no appointment to replace the battery on my Swatch (which was bought in Switzerland so its legit...)Very friendly service.Friendly dog.On-site parking and they were quick.Satisfaction."
"No issues or excuses. Gave me a quote and offered me other options. I was pressed for time and they are the only ones who made time for me. Sir you deserve an applause."
"If you love NOLA you gonna LOVE Fleurty Girl! The best place to pick up all those cute NOLA gifts & swag for all the people you love. They were out of a lot of sizes of the cute t-shirts but it was Madi Gras so that happens. Ugh. It's really remarkable that they had any inventory at all as many people were there! Lol Fleurty Girl is cute "NOLA girl" In-style lol :)) Will return!"
"Want jewelry? This is the place. Rolex? Every style...no problem. China? Why go anywhere else? But I wanted the olive picks and they only come with glasses. Got plenty of glasses...no olive picks. So color me sad about that.Christy Cali jewelry...hands on...close and personal. Here. Color me happy. Estate jewelry too. And clean restrooms. In Nola that speaks volumes. Just go here...you can thank me later."
"Royal Street Stones is a great shop to check out for crystals and jewelry. They have a huge selection, with many great gift options. The woman who runs the shop is extremely friendly, and she's happy to answer questions and show you merchandise. If you're shopping in the area, this is a great shop to check out!"
"My fiancé and I are trying to find an antique or estate engagement ring and have called around the whole Gulf coast Mississippi and New Orleans area to see who has what we're looking for. Most places say they do, but then we get there and find out they have two or three pieces. Anton Limited, however, has tons of estate and antique rings with diamonds and gemstones! The selection was simply amazing! We were nearly overwhelmed with the number of rings they had with diamonds and all different kinds of gemstones and colored diamonds, even in our price range! Their diamond art deco rings were simply amazing. The saleswoman we worked with was extremely helpful and willing to show us ring after ring. They even had rings with rarer stones like alexanderite and black diamonds! We may go with one of the rings they had, but even if we don't, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone!"
"Aaah! Another cute new boutique on Magazine St! And it JUST opened! I happened to just stumble into this place because I had never seen it before and then I realized that today was their opening day.Lucy Rose has a lot of cute clothes for all body types. I think I would call them "happy" clothes: a lot of skirts, dresses and tops in a lot of bright colors. I was only able to quickly stop in here today, but I will definitely be back. Lucy Rose will definitely make a nice addition to Magazine St."
"My mom and I randomly stopped into this shop, located in Jackson Square, while we were shopping around the Quarter and were pleasantly surprised at how unique it is! The shop owner, a sweet lady, recently moved to New Orleans and decided to start this business. It apparently used to be a doll shop. Now she has a crap ton of unique, beautiful jewelry at a variety of price points, a mish mash of cute gifts and souvenirs, some art and fountains, as well as some Jewish stuff thrown in (like cool, modern menorahs!). I know this makes the shop sound schizophrenic, but it really works. My mom ended up buying a beautiful multicolored stone necklace, although her glass jewelry was a close runner up. She even gave me a locals discount, which saved me having to pay tax.Our shopping experience was wonderful, and I'm glad that we found this store! It's definitely a departure from many of the boutiques in the area."
"Great store with friendly and knowledgeable staff, wide selection of various items. Plenty of parking with easy access."
"MJ's is a secret indulgence for me. I don't usually like store's like this, but MJ's is an exception. They have so many fun items in the store, and it is geared toward the locals. You can always find a neat gift here or a little something for yourself. Even with the bigger space they are in now it's still so cramped in the store because they just have so much stuff. It's fun stuff though! They have Saints and LSU sections which is awesome! I recently went to a Saints game and happened to be in MJ's the day before and they had the clear bags you need to take into the stadium. I snatched one up knowing I was going to need it, and it was only $10. I can't even go into all the cool item's they sell here because it's just so many. I can say if you need a New Orleans themed gift or something cool for your own house definitely come look at MJ's because more often than not they will have what you're looking for."
"Visited this location on 03/07/20 While spending a few days in NOLA, we did lots of walking and shopping for quirky and different things. Walked into WhatsNew and found them having lots of souvenirs items and yet they had different handmade creative items throughout as well. Wound out getting a small magnetic mask for my parents fridge ($4) and a Creole one ($4.5) for myself which had lovely colors."
"I brought in my great grandmothers ring. I was told by other jewelers that it could not be fixed and "just wear it". Prongs were breaking and gold was pulling apart. Let me tell you how absolutely WONDERFUL Mark and Donalyn Bowen are. Carefully inspected my ring. Let me know what options I had. Came up with turning the ring in to the absolutely most perfect necklace! I can't recommend Bowen Jewelry enough!"
"Alex is a savvy professional but more than that a wise, engaging teacher who knows what he is talking about and willing to take the time to pass it forward. Having a great experience learning from him as I enter this new terrain. The building is very discreet, too, with warm, kind people at the main and tenth floor lobby entrances. Recommend highly."
"After taking our Rolex and other items to Kelli, we were able to get substantially more money than anyone else offered us on them. We also purchased a custom wedding band and diamond earrings from her and couldn't be happier with them. She was extremely helpful and had the best prices of anyone we found."
"Really cute shop with a good selection of beads, stones, and some handmade collectibles. I got myself a strand of well priced, beautiful waist beads. The owner says that they are sourced from a trader that gets them from Ghana. This place is tucked in the back of the Garden District Marketplace, so it's easy to miss. There's an entrance from a side street. But we stumbled upon it from the vintage shop that it shares a roof under. The owner is kind and friendly."
"The best little Vintage jewelry store in the FQ. They have the most amazing collection of vintage jewelry & hard to find collectible's, something for everyone. They have a very good eye. It's always hard to choose here they have so many great things. Hubby buys me a lovely vintage piece of jewelry here almost every year. This is the first place we visit for speciality vintage jewelry & gifts. Will Return."
"This review is based on my online shopping experience. I purchased two items and received the first piece on Monday. The packaging is simply adorable. This shop consists of a small team based in New Orleans so patience is key. That said, the overall process was seamless and I received timely updates once the first item shipped. The Hamsa flat back stud is super cute, and now I am eagerly waiting for the mini snake flat back stud to arrive.Overall solid experience - will definitely purchase again from PL."
"Love love love this store! Their jewelry is gorgeous, and they have the best selection for gifts. Anytime I need a gift this is my first go to. The owner, Anthony is usually here. He's really awesome, and seems passionate about his business."
"Interesting little shop on Magazine with a very different selection of items that other stores. Yes they have jewelry, art, tchotchkes but the style/flavor is very different from what I've seen elsewhere in town. Yes, they do have stuff made of bones and nails so the name doesn't disappoint. It's not a huge store but there is still a ton of stuff to see. The staff has been polite and not pushy. The store is a vintage shotgun so the steps were a little steep for my 70+ Mom."
"Since I pass this shop all the time and had a little time to kill before an appointment, I popped in for a quick peruse. The shop is beautiful and everything is displayed attractively. Ultimately, I don't think the clothing is really my style but it might be yours. The prices are definitely higher end and I only saw a couple of pairs of shoes for sale. They do have a sale rack in the back. The changing rooms are spacious and have good mirrors. The shop does have a couple of parking spots out front; this is a newer building that's set back so while the sign is visible from Magazine, the shop is not. Be careful backing out on Magazine Street."
