Fairly new to River Ridge, previously further down Jefferson Highway . Fresh made, better than any of the other sushi restaurants near us. We've tried a few different sushi rolls. Monster roll, LSU roll , and today Okini /Mango Roll . The rolls are large and filling. My husband and I split the order and still had leftovers . It was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant."

"It's a small corner business so you'll really have to look for it. It looks very small like it wouldn't have much to it. Once you get inside you'll see that they have 4 hibachis and a sushi bar. The dining area if you're not doing hibachi is a little small, but it makes it kinda need because you're so close to the hibachi you can watch the show. The sushi is really good. Always seems to be fairly fresh. I don't care for the dressing on the house salad. The use the mayo based ginger dressing and I prefer the other one. Overall pretty good place to eat."

"Such an amazing local sushi spot! Even though I don't eat sushi I've been going here for years since I was at Tulane because everyone loves it so much and they make an amazing chicken teriyaki plate that you can see in picture two. And basically no matter how full you are, DO NOT skip out on the banana tempura for dessert! They serve it drizzled in honey and it's just fantastically sweet. You can really see and taste the craft in how they prepare their dishes... and there cocktails! Plus it's such an affordable delicious meal too! Plus, I really enjoy seeing all the staff because a couple of people at the front of the house have been there for years and are so kind and energetic and you can tell they just love running this restaurant."

"A quaint little sushi spot in Coursey and Sherwood area. I was craving sushi and my favorite spot is apparently closed fro Tuesday lunch. I've heard great things about Tokyo Grill and decided to stop in. We were quickly greeted and told to sit where we wanted to. A server came by and got our drink orders. It too me a while to order, because I am one of these people that don't like raw sushi, but love a good cooked sushi! I will say it was good. It may not take the place of my favorite sushi spot, but it will definitely be a place I would visit again."

"Great Experience.My wife and I were next door at the pet store adopting a cat and asked two employees about OEC. The employees highly recommended it, so we tried it.I ordered the Hibachi steak and shrimp with fried rice and my wife ordered hibachi chicken and vegetables. We decided to eat inside. We had our salads within a couple of minutes of sitting down and the food was out in about 10 minutes. My wife and I both enjoyed our food. It was tasty and we will definitely be back. This is just a little fast food type Japanese restaurant. It doesn't have all of the menu items and the quality of a traditional Japanese restaurant. However, our food and service was good and that's why I'm giving it 4 stars."

"We went to Sogo last night to celebrate my grandsons 6th birthday and we had a blast. We decided to have Hibachi. Our waiter was so good and the chef was fantastic. He interacted with us all so much and even let the birthday boy get behind the grill. He loved it. We all had something different. I had the steak and scallops and it was so good. The rice and noodles were the best and seasoned to perfection. Two people in our group had sushi and they were very happy. I can't recommend Sogo enough. Can't wait to go back!!!"

"Uchi Sushi remains my favorite sushi restaurant. I've tried others but I always find myself back at Uchi time and time again. Johnny has made Uchi special and the food remains absolutely fantastic. Anytime I'm craving sushi I only want to eat here. I have a few favorite rolls, but honestly, you cannot go wrong with any roll or dish you order. A few of my go-to rolls are the Six Brothers Roll, the Utah Roll, the Cucumber Sashimi Roll, and any of the Sashimi choices. The restaurant is open for lunch every day and open late. If you go during peak hours it can be a little difficult to park, but please don't let that dissuade you from going. The food is worth the wait for a parking spot!"

The food was very good. Everything had great flavors, our favorite was the Monkey Snack! Who would've thought to put banana with fish?! A genius! Fruit & salmon definitely hit the spot. Unique dish! The cucumbers were very tasty - such a simple dish but truly made to perfection. The sauce was awesome. The bam bam chicken was also very good! It reminded me of chicken katsu. I liked the sauce too, but it wasn't the best I ever had. Both of our drinks were super good & strong! I loved the variety of flavors and mixtures of the flavors. Yum! The service was pretty good too. Overall, I would recommend LUVI, had a great time, but I wouldn't say it was my favorite restaurant or as memorable as some others I've been to which is why I give 4/5. Just missed the wow factor.."

My personal favorite is the Bad Girl Roll, but she's super gorgeous to the eye and leaves you wanting more. The last time we dined we ordered so many different kinds of sushi type items that the chef put it into one of those fancy boats and my lad was over the moon with excitement. The Teriyaki dinner Bento box is a great way to enjoy everything they have to offer, with enough for leftovers.In additional to our normal selections we are taking food to go, chicken Hibachi with double noodles and the chicken Katsu dinner.The chicken hibachi is always a good choice, when ordering food for a next day meal, but my son and I fought over the chicken katsu, beautifully light breaded chicken breast over a bed a stir fried cabbage/veggies and a side of steamed rice. It was delicious.Since my first visit they've up'd their game and added staff members. The food prep time seems to have sped up as well. I'm a super happy girl these days knowing that I need not travel too far to get Japanese cuisine. If you're ever traveling out these parts, stop in.....you won't be disappointed!"

"Came here with a friend to check this new-ish sushi spot out for lunch. This building is well isolated with a huge parking lot. The restaurant's decor was really nice and service was prompt. The menu was huge and took us a while to choose what we wanted. We ended up ordering the Broccoli Salad, Baked Salmon, Spider Roll, Heart Attack Roll, and the Sexiest Man Roll. The Broccoli Salad came first and I was expecting a salad, but it was just boiled broccoli with some horseradish mayo sauce on the side. Nothing screamed salad about the dish, but it was strangely addicting. The Baked Salmon came right after and it looked good, I never seen anyone make it this way. They were a bit skimpy on the salmon, but gave two mounds of snowcrab that really filled us up. It was indeed tasty and hot! The rolls came out right on time, when we had finished the appetizers. The Spider Roll was your standard Spider Roll, nothing much to say about it. The Heart Attack Roll was fried a bit too long, because the spicy tuna was fully cooked. I had to check the menu to see what it was supposed to be. A flash fry would have been better, but it was still good! Last, but not least, the Sexiest Man Roll was our favorite roll we ordered. There was a perfect balance of ingredients put together and it tasted so fresh! It was visually appealing and colorful, I would definitely order it again! We were pretty satisfied and had some leftovers to take home.Overall, a nice addition to the restaurants in Chalmette. This place is fairly new and I am impressed with what they had to offer. Their menu was huge, so I will be sure to try their lunch, dinner, or hibachi choices next time. The service was attentive and the food was nice and filling."

"I am updating my review for the sole reason of bumping 1 star for loss of value by removing the lunch price from being available at all on Saturdays. This happened some time back and I have not returned since. It became not worth the visit for me anymore when the price rose 20 for the lunch overnight. The parking lot is not very big and several spaces are compact only. So be mindful of parking. The staff helped quick to seat us and was nice. There was obvious language barriers, but that did not bother me. There is only two real options--sushi buffet (order at the table style) and hibachi. We did the sushi buffet. We also did the lunch (16 per plate plus 18% is added to the check/ 35 dollar ticket for two with water). There are paper menus on which you can mark your orders and laminated menus that help as a key to identify what's in the individual rolls that you order. There's also nigiri (a cut of sashimi on a bed of rice). I stuck mostly to the finger rolls and had one specialty roll. I preferred just eating the fish and rice without the drizzled sauce so I would probably only get the nigiri next time. If you like nigiri, the price is great for what you get because you can add soup, salad, ice-cream, and/or noodle entre items. The area was spacious and had a fish tank and nice aethetic. The fish was fresh, and i even saw them carrying 2 uncut fish fillets that were to be sized down to pieces that would be put in the sushi fridge at the bar. I would say that the bathroom needs some love. Some spray needs to be put in there or something. Both the male and female sides stunk bad and could be smelled from outside the door. The look of the restroom was not bad (same color tile on floor and wall and clean).This sushi buffet was a nice change from the way I usually experience sushi. You can't leave hungry (or it's your fault), and the quality does not significantly suffer because of the price. Come hungry and try the nigiri."
