"It pains me to knock off a star for a bakery that is obviously well liked. This is a new, second location (first is in Hammond) & their reviews for that location are very high. Batter is doing something right! My mom, husband, and I just did not enjoy any of the 4 cookies we chose. I'm not going to elaborate because I hope it's just a matter of preference. The price for the size of the cookies is very good though. I also felt like the coffees were half full & for $6.50, they shouldn't be. We did enjoy the pop-tart, cinnamon roll, and cupcakes. I would like to try the brownies, petit fours, and cake slices eventually. The store is really cute, clean, and quaint, and, as a dog lover, I appreciated them allowing someone to bring in her dog for a to-go coffee. We drove in from 30 minutes away just to try Batter on our day off, so I think 4/5 stars is fair for the parts of our experience that we did enjoy. I'm just sad about the cookies."

"This was a fun stop on the last night of my trip. The cute establishment was welcoming and we were thrilled with the offerings at this late at night. We brought a half dozen and 1 mini cheesecake. We tried 3 of the six: caramel; strawberry; and banana pudding. Of those three the banana pudding was the best. I liked the strawberry for the cake texture. The caramel was entirely too sweet and the cake itself wasn't good.We are flying back to California with a chocolate banana and pecan praline cupcake in my carry on. Lol"

Needless to say, even with the caterer's cobbler and a snoball station, these cupcakes were gone immediately! The cake was moist, the icing was sweet but not cloying, and the price was right. They went so quick the bride didn't even have time to snag one!Hats off to the Bella' Slidell confections!"

"I have been a customer for a few years. Brittney is so sweet and really caters to her clients. I've order cakes super late at least twice and she has accommodated me. She is a sweet heart and always responds when I text. Her workers are always so nice too. If you prepay, they bring ur order to your car and even give you utensils to dig in right there....lol. She loves what she does and it shows through her cakes. They are as beautiful as they are delicious. We also use to get cake jars from her when she was baking from home.... delicious and a real treat to give as gifts. Now she has upgraded and is in a shop and does cake slices in addition to extravagant cake designs. We travel near and far for her cakes. I will never loose weight as long as she is in business! Recently due to COVID-19 she had a cake giveaway for like 10 seniors. They had to write an essay and she ended up choosing 20 graduating seniors and gifted each of them with a cake, bracelet, cash, airbrushed graduation cap and more. All out the goodness of her heart. This is amazing and I will always support someone who is willing to pay it forward. Awesome job and always great customer service! "I popped in to this cute, corner bakery after an event I attended next door. I've read their reviews before and thought it was the perfect opportunity to pop-in before heading home on a Saturday afternoon. The space was cute, which a nice open kitchen. They had an array of cupcakes and cakes on display, which all looked yummy. The strawberry cupcake popped out at me because it looked so fresh and I was feelin' strawberry that day! Just from this cupcake alone, it put me on the excitement track for trying the other ones. Unfortunately, I had to put the brakes on the excitement train because I could not go full throttle on desserts. Ya know... trying to stay on track with my health goals. The cupcake was delicious though. It looked very rich and decadent, but had that subtlety to it. The icing was not super sweet and the cake was moist, which was probably from the fresh strawberry piece in it. I enjoyed it very much. In fact, I keep thinking about going back to get another one. It tasted like it came right out of a "Strawberry Shortcake" book. I did however agree with one of the other Yelpers (Shan E.) on was customer service. I did not get the warm & fuzzies in here like I have from other bakeries in town. Found out that they are moving to another locations, so I get that is stressful. These days, with so many businesses coming up in Baton Rouge and competition is getting greater, customer service really does matter. I will definitely be back... not for the customer service, but for more cake or cupcakes! They were darn good and can't wait to see their new space!"

Just think about the light in your kids eye when they create something spectacular then to top it off they get to eat it. "I first heard about them when my friend had her wedding cake from Chez Ru Rene at in November 2011. It tasted so amazing I had to find out the bakery so I could get them for my wedding. They were so easy to work with from the tastings, to design, to cake pulls. They have a bunch of past cake options that they have done that are all beautiful but I had printed a picture from a website and they were able to perfectly match it. The cake it self was reasonably pricedI picked up the cake and asked when had it been baked and was told Wednesday...... unmmmm......that was a red flag for me. She told me they bake them early to give them time to set and to cool. I picked the cake up at 2 pm on Saturday. I asked if the cake had to be refrigerated and she asked what time was the party I said 730 she said no it should be good. She placed one very small piece of tape on the top and one very small piece on each side.The box was not closed properly at all. Needless to say the cake was good. It did taste a little stale to me but the flavor was good and icing was perfect not too sweetI definitely would consider purchasing something else from Mad Batter I just would ask for it to be made closer to the time I need it"
