"I love a good buffet but i wasn't impressed because the food wasn't seasoned good. The best thing i ate was the pizzza. The lemonade was watery and there was no traditional waiter that came and check on us on the regular. The place looks up to par but nothing spectacular. There were no good deserts all the cakes texture felt like hard bread. They have a lot of variety so will definitely get full of u find something you like."
"This is our latest Chinese take out spot, since it's close to home. The food is cooked to order, prices are very reasonable, the portions are generous and we've been happy with each meal. The strip center location doesn't lend itself to dining in, because it feels like you are eating in a fast food restaurant. It's not fine dining by any means, but definitely better than most of the other take out spots around. The line for dinner pick ups can get a little long, so I recommend calling ahead for pickups after 5 or 6 pm."

"Classic Americanized Chinese food done right. I have eaten here numerous times over the last 10 years. I've consistently ordered the same thing every time. The lunch plate "shrimp with garlic sauce". It comes with shrimp fried rice and fried wontons. If you dine in, you also get a cup of some delicious hot and sour soup or egg drop soup. I always opt for the hot and sour soup. Yesterdays lunch was no different. The veggies are so fresh and cooked perfectly, the shrimp is deveined and plentiful. There's plenty of egg, veggie and shrimp in the fried rice. The fried wontons are basic...and I wish it came with an egg roll but for the price (11.00) it can't be beat. The service is good. They check on you regularly and leave you alone if you take work calls or meetings. The inside is no frills diner but the back booths are super comfortable and cozy."
"Very good sushi for the price and HUGE portions! The crab ragoons were more savory than I'm used to, but the sweet and sour sauce was very sweet so it balances well."
"Food is good. Could be a bit better. Beef (?) is full of gristle. Thinking agent not completely dissolved, gritty. Broccoli is good. Call in was challenging. Answering machine."
"This review strictly off of a doordash delivery. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with white rice a large egg drop soup with extra wontons . The delivery first off arrived faster than the estimated time. It also was perfectly packaged and it was hot the Most important part. The sweet and sour chicken is delicious and tinder with the perfect amount of crunch. The sweet and sour sauce is on point too. The egg drop soup is great. Did I mention it was hot and the fried wontons are the perfect touch. Always get extra cuz you are going to need them. I like the crunch. I definitely would recommend this place if doing doordash or just doing takeout. This is a win and I'm satisfied"
"Super delicious and food is fine super quick! Prices are good too, which is great because it's right outside of LSU campus"
"The food is always hot and good. You can observe them as they prepare the dishes at the counter. I usually get the fried rice and chicken dishes. I love the shrimp lo mein. The price is always reasonable."
"This place is reminiscent of a mall food court Chinese place. That is not an insult in anyway. I always liked the food court Chinese food. They have a large menu and pictures of their food on the wall and the front window. The service is quick and friendly. The food is delicious! The prices are very low for the amount and quality of the food.COVID MEASURES:They have build a special box for food and a separate on for paying into the door. You never walk into the restaurant. The boxes have doors in the front and back so there is no contact between the worker or customer."
"Best Chinese takeout in the area. Huge portions, good quality, and quick delivery. Highly recommend!"
"After eating here several times a week for months now. I can openly say each and every dish you order is made with professionalism and love! I am completely vegan so my eating needs are a bit challenging for most restaurants. Not here though they will accommodate all your dietary needs. The scenery is very quaint and homely so get relaxed and enjoy your meal."
"It's been many years since I have had Chinese food as good as this! The last time was my last visit to Chinese Kitchen in Carrollton Ave. in New Orleans . I don't go there anymore because the neighborhood is too DANGEROUS !This place is amazingly good. Egg rolls are excellent along with the fried rice. We have had 3 dishes so far and all were excellent. Beef and broccoli, beef and garlic sauce and kung po chicken. Portions are great too. It's pretty much a take out place. We need to support this place and hope with success the won't change their quality."

We ordered take out from here on Saturday. It was our first time to try this place. The reviews seemed mixed, but we thought we'd try somewhere new.Due to COVID-19, they have a pick-up window outside on the side of the building. It was all pretty efficient. We ordered the Crab Rangoons, Sesame Chicken combination plate, Mongolian Beef combination plate, Crispy Duck entree, and Shrimp Egg Foo Young entree. The Sesame Chicken was very good. Probably one of the best we've had. It had large pieces of white meat. Everything else was mostly disappointing. The Crispy Duck was way too dry. The Shrimp Egg Foo Young was drowning in gravy. They should have put the gravy on the side like everywhere else does. The Mongolian Beef was mostly all onions and not right. The Rangoons were lacking flavor. The fried rice was ok, but the Shrimp in it were not what we like. They were an odd color and tiny. They used the same in the Shrimp Egg Foo Young too, and we didn't care for that.Overall, you get a decent amount of food. The prices are higher though. We would only come back for the Sesame Chicken. The rest ....nah.

Amazing food just just amazing. Yes, yes, good there's a little boy serving, which was funny and also. You have to try the tuna lover very good and the tuna roll but only get one unless you like tuna because they come in six.

This place was quick and satisfying! Average price for the area and the food was quality!I ordered the Sichuan chicken, chicken lo mein, and shrimp eggroll. The cuts of chicken were great! No blubber, no tendons, and all white meat! I didn't love the flavor of the sauce, but that is just personal preference; it was cooked perfectly. I LOVED the lo mein; it was flavorful, moist, and not overcooked. The shrimp eggrolls were delicious! They were fresh and crispy. My only complaint was that for $2, I would get either an enormous egg roll or multiple smaller ones. However, I only got one average sized roll.Overall good experience, and I would recommend this place if you're in the area!

I love nine dragon. It's not like stunning Chinese food (unless intoxicated) but it is definitely a great tasting bang for your buck. I really enjoy the chicken with garlic sauce meal that comes with pork fried rice. One reason I really like this place is because it is not all veggies with a couple scraps of meat they give you a good amount of both. Nine dragon is a very solid take out Chinese place that I recommend for anyone in the LSU area.

Clean ol spot with lots of parking. They have a lunch special for around 10 bucks. I got the egg foo young with pork. Their gravy is different from most places, very interesting. Taste good. I would come back.

"Sadly mediocre. My reliable Chinese place Peking House has gone downhill since Covid. So we ordered from Charlie's (veggie fried rice, sweet and sour shrimp). I was very hopeful when I saw bright green broccoli and a great variation of vegetables in the rice. Although the broccoli was perfectly steamed the fried rice was bland. The sauce for the sweet and sour was thin but the shrimp were a great size. And so it went, one thing would be above par and another below. With nothing to tip one way or another."
"Excellent food. We picked up sesame chicken, General Tso's chicken, egg rolls, crab Rangoon. All very good"
"Ordered for lunch and they gave me so much food! Won't be the last time I order. I couldn't stop eating it. I felt myself gaining weight the whole time I shoveled it in my mouth. Got the triple threat, chicken, roast pork and shrimp. They were not skimpy on meat. Loved it"
"Had a big lunch with a bunch of friends and food was great! All orders correct even though everyone had separate orders with special requests and food came out quickly. Great variety of options, sushi, tempura, appetizers, curry, etc. Great place for lunch or dinner!"
"This small restaurant was pretty crowded when we arrived for lunch. The first plate from the buffet was unfortunately little more than room temperature. I really want to like this place because it has great reviews and as I stated previously, it was packed with people. The second plate was much better! Fresh from the wok to the bar. We will definitely give them another try before we write them off."
"I love Shrimp Fried Rice, and I also work a job that awards me a lengthy lunch break. So I'm always trying different restaurants for their Shrimp Fried Rice. My default restaurant is on the other side of town closer to where I live, so I've been visiting different Chinese restaurants where I work, south of I-12. I've passed China Town on Siegen many times over many years, but tonight I would actually give them a try.I'm glad I did.A small order of Shrimp Fried Rice $5 and was very filling. I called my order in and they were just finishing up when I got there, so my food was flaming hot. The shrimp were tender, the rice was well-cooked and the entire box was well-seasoned. I do like my Shrimp Fried Rice a little more on the dry side, but I still give China Town five stars.Thank you."
"I don't have high expectations for Americanized Chinese food, so it's usually all pretty decent to me. However, China Rose is one of the best in New Orleans in my opinion!China Rose is consistently good and a little different from other area Chinese places. If you want Mandarin chicken, you can order Mandarin chicken, of course! But, they also offer items that are a little unique compared to other area restaurants. ( I think they also offer possibly a little more authentic dishes too!) One thing to keep in mind is that they close earlier than other Chinese restaurants in our area. The portions are fair and similar to the amount you would expect to get at a Chinese restaurant. They don't skimp on the meats either! Plus, I've never gotten a bite full of tendons and fat on their chicken dishes, so I'm always happy with the quality of their chicken. (I don't eat beef or pork too often, so I can't speak for those)When we get food from here, we always get the Singapore noodles. They're fantastic! The dish consists of thin curried noodles, which are not very saucy, but they're packed full of flavor! It has veggies and meat sautéed and mixed in as well. I suppose this is an Indian-Chinese fusion type dish, and it's pretty unique! It's also not a greasy dish, so I usually feel that it's a fulling, but lighter meal on the stomach. I highly recommend this one! We've tried a good number of their other dishes, and they've all been good, but I particularly like the shrimp with mixed vegetables as a combination dish platter. It comes with shrimp fried rice and an egg roll. It's shrimp and vegetables sautéed in a common savory sauce, just as the name would suggest. This one isn't very unique, but I like it!"
"This place has come in clutch more time than I can count. We love a late night delivery from them. I think we've tried about 70% of their menu items. Chicken on a stick is our go to app. For the entrees it just depends on the day. You can't go wrong with whichever you decide on. The prices aren't bad either."
"Great Chinese food in the quarter. The service is A+++. Bao is the best. This place is a nice little "secret" of the French Quarter but if you're looking for something different to eat in downtown besides the typical New Orleans cuisine, definitely check this place out. Can't wait to go back."
"Good spot for Chinese food. Been here a handful of times and I keep going back! Give it a shot."
"Large open space for seating. Order the Szechuan chicken which had good flavor. Not too sweet and salty. Tasted hot and fresh. Lots of chicken in there and vegetables. Good portions. Also ordered a small pint of hot and sour soup. Had a good mix of ingredients. Good soup consistency. Good taste"
"*Sung to the tune of They Might Be Giants "Hot Cha"..."Hot Wok, where are you?Everybody's eyes are closedI can't see why I miss you soSo hot Wok, where are you?"This is the little song I sing whenever I need to stuff my face so full of seafood that it comes out my ears. (Once every 2 months as it turns out.)3 Stars Yelp? YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG! I mean... just check out that disco skate ceiling! Soak it up! The secret here is to just treat this place like a seafood buffet and ignore everything else! Fish, shrimp, oysters, crab! BOOM SHAKA LAKA! The hilarious thing about the people complaining about this place is that it's exactly what you make of it. I mean... there's a Mongolian Wok Chef in the back who will stir fry whatever ingredients you want into the dish of your choice! If you hate that... grab a mirror and blame yourself! Pro Tips: Don't eat breakfast and come for Lunch, and stay true to your tastebuds. Dive deep and with your whole heart, stay hydrated and stretch your legs to make more room! Good luck and stay away from anything covered in crusty mayo."
"A very good variety on the buffet table and all was freshly prepared. Can't say much about the service since a buffet and you for the most part serve yourself. We had to ask for drink refills instead of being offered. Typical strip mall location with ok ambiance."
"This is spot on, exactly what I was in hunger for. They have daily specials and a lot of menu options. The food is good and made to order. I had the sweet and sour chicken with a large house rice w/ two egg rolls and my wife and kids had the steak and broccoli and the shrimp and broccoli and all entrees was really good. The PORTIONS ARE ENOUGH TO SPLIT. I would recommend going with an additional order of combo/house rice or adding a meat to your lo mien...because the rice and noodles that comes with the daily special is real bland."
"It's take out Chinese food that tastes pretty good. We ordered from here for pick up and the family was pretty happy about it. Prices were right, the staff was friendly, and it was down the street. It's a win-win-win for us when it comes to picking a local Chinese joint."
"While in New Orleans for Christmas, we were trying to find a place for lunch and being a Christmas day, almost ever thing from Walmart to Subway were closed. We could hardly find anything open, not even a McD . We decided to drive through the streets of Gretna to search for any open restaurants., It didn't take long, we spotted an "open" sign-shining bright red and a glory to our eyes! Immediately pulled our car into the shopping complex and went inside to confirm it was indeed open. We were extremely hungry to try anything new so we quickly ordered some fried rice and spring rolls. It took some time for the order to be ready, then came in a HUMONGOUS portion of fried rice. The vegetables were not too fancy - just onions, broccoli, capsicum but enough for an average rice fried rice. Both the fried rice and spring roll were extremely hot and freshly made. I had never even thought in my dreams I would be eating such a fulfilling lunch on a Christmas day at a restaurant in Gretna! Even though I ordered medium, the quantity was so much that my friends and I packed the remaining for dinner and oh boy, we did enjoy the dinner too.Definitely recommend this restaurant! Forget about the ambiance and everything else - this restaurant deserves Five stars for simply tasty food and great hospitality."
"This place is cute and incredibly cheap. Lunch specials come with fried or white rice for $5.99. I decided to add on two spring rolls for $2.50. I ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce and it was very tasty. I'm not sure what kind of meat was in the sauce. I'm guessing it was ground pork. It had the texture of a firm tofu with a greyish color. It could have been grey matter for all I know. All I know is that it did not make me sick, so I'm ok with it. The spring rolls were light even though they were fried, and were filled with greens and shrimp. The interior is a little outdated, but there are lots of places to sit. The lady at the register was quiet but pleasant, and the food was hot, fresh, and came out quickly."
"I was impressed with the food here. There are multiple options for Chinese chicken. My favorites were chicken on a stick, beef and broccoli, general Tso chicken, egg rolls, & potatoes. They also have sushi and hibachi options. Service was good. They have a separate room for large tables. Lots of seating room overall. Would come here again. On a weekend it was ~$20 per person including soft drinks."
"Small, family owned restaurant but delicious food. The owners wait your table, great customer service and made sure we enjoyed our food the entire time. We had the egg drop soup, soft shell crab roll, special brothers roll, general Tso's chicken, house special fried rice, boiled crawfish. Food was so well seasoned we didn't even need soy sauce to enjoy like many Japanese/Chinese restaurants I have tried before. Crawfish was the best, spicy and delicious."
"My rating is based on the food alone. I visited the location that was not on N Claiborne. I can't remember the name of the street but it was in a seedy area and it appears to be a smaller purple building than the one on N Claiborne. Even though I was skeptical of the area I really wanted to try the chicken. My husband decided to go in while I parked on the side of the building and locked my doors. I definitely would not visit in the night time. He didn't take long to come back with hot fresh food. We had a 10 piece chicken wing and shrimp rice. At first I thought the shrimp were carrots in the rice based on their color. I was a little skeptical eating such red/orange colored shrimp but I must admit the rice was good! It tastes totally different from any shrimp rice that I've eaten before. The chicken was very good! Nicely seasoned and fried crispy. The price was under $6.00. I would like to go back but I will visit the other location, in the daytime of course!!"
"This is a great place to grab some Chinese food on the go. You definitely get your moneys worth t this place. The egg drop soup is done to perfection. My wife always gets the dragon and Phoenix which is the spicy shrimp and general taos chicken with fried rice and egg roll. I always get the sesame chicken with froed rice and egg roll.Always done fresh and served hot. Plenty enough food so that you also have lunch for the next day if you choose."
"Basically this is the same as every other quick-serve takeout Chinese food place in the area.Cheap, quick, greasy/salty/sugary, but delicious. You can either call ahead and pick it up, or walk in and order something. Like Jeff explained, it typically takes 10 minutes or less, and they give you a TON of food."
"We enjoyed our trip to LUVI. Had dinner at 7 pm on a Saturday with a reservation and they were steady the whole time! It's a pretty small spot, so I would definitely recommend a resy. The food was very good. Everything had great flavors, our favorite was the Monkey Snack! Who would've thought to put banana with fish?! A genius! Fruit & salmon definitely hit the spot. Unique dish! The cucumbers were very tasty - such a simple dish but truly made to perfection. The sauce was awesome. The bam bam chicken was also very good! It reminded me of chicken katsu. I liked the sauce too, but it wasn't the best I ever had. Both of our drinks were super good & strong! I loved the variety of flavors and mixtures of the flavors. Yum! The service was pretty good too. Overall, I would recommend LUVI, had a great time, but I wouldn't say it was my favorite restaurant or as memorable as some others I've been to which is why I give 4/5. Just missed the wow factor.."
