Jen L. "I was wondering how the Roman Candy Man had less then 5 stars and then I realized that the FTR has a fundamental misunderstanding of how he works. First, ignore the address and phone number listed. I'm not sure what that's about.2nd, stalk the cart via it's twitter feed: https://twitter.com/RomanCandy 3rd, if the mule is working then be prepared to find the cart since the mule wanders where he (she?) likes.4th, enjoy some tasty old school taffy and watch out for your fillings.5th, if they are selling cotton candy, buy some. It is delicious and freshly made."

Tiffany Y. "Leah's Pralines is my fave Praline shop out of all the ones that I have tried in FQ. The pralines are so fresh and they have samples if you cant decide what you want. My friend recommended this place to me because she really liked their bacon brittle, but after trying a few I liked the spicy cajun one more!! The spicy cajun brittle is great, it has a hint of spice and tastes so fresh and buttery. I should have bought more . I also got the chocolate praline, sweet potato praline, original praline, and rum pralines! Great place for your souvenir / sweet needs. The girl who worked here was super friendly as well."

Nina J. "Listen to me....this was the best snowball I've ever had in my LIFE thus far!! I mean, a real slice of cheesecake in a SNOBALL...WHAT?! I got wedding cake flavor, which is my fave. There was flavor throughout, which was great but they didn't stop there with the deliciousness..oh no. They took it to another level and topped it with sweetened condensed milk and blueberries/blackberries/raspberries...MIND BLOWING...MIC DROPPED! Let me just say, the snoball was so EPIC that the young lady who prepared it had to take a pic of it...I'm serious..she really did. She was super sweet...beautiful personality. I think her sweetness made the snoball that much better. Yooo, I'm not driving to New Orleans for a "cheesecake" stuffed snoball again...not as long as this place is around. This is the real deal..real cheesecake (not marshmallowy goop trying to pass as cheesecake)..great flavor THROUGHOUT...great service..how can you go wrong. You've gotta check this place out."

I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more variety in the case items, but maybe that was just the day I popped in.The boxes and cookies are beautifully wrapped and decorated. I just find the enrobing chocolate a bit blah, but that's just my personal taste."

Steven M. "This place is a little slice of magic inside of an outlet mall, why? Because when you walk by you are blinded by large pieces of fudge, chocolate covered pretzels, ice cream, and of course the things that I ended up ordering which was a giant rice crispy treat covered in sprinkles and chocolate and 2 large marshmallows with a stick through it and it was covered in mini m&m's......did I just die and go to heaven? Because that's kind of what it felt like to stop by The Fudgery. Not only was the treats I ordered absolutely delicious (because they totally were) but the staff was super friendly and even gave my friend a price of fudge as a sample. I would definitely recommend anyone in the area or at the mall check this place out because you'll find some delicious treats!"

After a couple minutes he left for something. Then I saw him walk up to me outside and hand me a chunk. He noticed my birthday shirt. Typical southern hospitality. Pecan, carmel, and fudge. It was the best in years.Recommended."

Brita R. "My boyfriend and I went into the Royal Praline Company in the French Quarter of New Orleans and bought pralines as well as a bag of their bourbon pecans that they had for sale. The store was kind of in a disarray and did not appear kept up, as there were many things misplaced by what I assumed was from customers but even so, the staff were not fixing their shelves. The staff was also not really caring about their customers as the person helping me was on their phone. However, the pralines we bought were delicious and the bourbon pecans were very, very rich in flavor."

Andy V. "I found myself here doing a mix of tourist shopping for my friends and of course for myself. The big sign that read, "Magnolia Sugar & Spice" pulled me in as well as the big opening in the store. It's got this charm (and smell of pralines) that kind of pulls you in.The store has tons of gift ideas. Something for everyone you feel like buying for, from coffee, coffee mugs and pralines to hot sauces, cookbooks and more. You can sample the pralines before you even buy them which is nice and they come in individually wrapped cookies or boxes. In the middle of the store you can sample the different hot sauces and such. Not necessarily my thing because I start thinking about the germs, but have at it if you feel like trying it out. It's in a great spot in town so you can look around before you head into the French Quarter, figure out what you want and then grab it on your way back. That way you don't need carry around your bag of goodies all day.For a touristy place I didn't think it was too overly priced. The staff was nice and the place was really clean. Not bad at all in my book!"

I bought a 12 pack box of Aunt Sally's Creamy Classic Creole Pralines to share with my family, a vintage postcard of the French Quarter for my sister, and a bottle of Crystal Hot Sauce on two different visits during my travels in NOLA. The famous pralines are creamy, richly sweet, and a satisfying dessert treat. The hot sauce is awesome. A lot of restaurants we dined at had this same hot sauce and as it was my first time trying this brand of Louisiana hot sauce, I loved it and wanted to bring a bottle of it home. Recommended stop for some pralines, hot sauce, postcards, and more!!"

This location is the newest of Laura's Candies which has been in business since 1913 and they have two other locations in the French Quarter. This new location in Metairie is now their production facility and has also added an ice cream parlor. They really have a fantastic selection and do a lot of great seasonal/holiday items along with a lot of great New Orleans and Louisiana themed scrumptious candy treats. Their chocolate truffles are the absolute most AMAZING I have ever had anywhere with intense bold flavors that really stand out from any other chocolates I've ever tried anywhere else in the world. They have some really great Louisiana and New Orleans themed gifts that should make most folks pretty happy not to mention they are also delicious but some are so pretty you almost feel bad about eating them.Overall you are wasting time if you haven't visited here yet so hurry up and start enjoying life more through the AMAZING chocolate and other treats here!!!My video review of this location of Laura's Candies is here:https://youtu.be/QJz8Lgvin6o"

I hadn't packed mine and showed up with a full belly of food yet still managed to drink a hot chocolate, eat a bowl of jambalaya and a couple spoons of my friends gumbo. I know I said it was a sweet shop but apparently the owner just really enjoys cooking and boy can throw down in the kitchen! It was good and unexpected for a "sweet shop!" ha From what I understand from a friend his burgers are really good too! If you're looking to get some cocoa bombs to better enjoy this cold front moving in he has a bunch. He also has French vanilla cappuccino bombs which I'm not a coffee drinker but that sounds interesting. He has cute coffee mugs and tumblers for sale too! The coffee mug with something about the Grinch and a cocoa bomb would make for a really cool Christmas gift idea! Just sayin. And before you judge me for the pictures yes we went ham buying cocoa bombs! It's the best way to drink hot chocolate let's be real!"

I love food souvenirs and because we were flying with carry on only, bottles of hot sauce weren't going to work! After sampling some of the pralines at Aunt Sally's, we were pretty sure these would make amazing souvenirs! We grabbed a box of the limited edition salted caramel ($15.99) and a dozen of the original recipe pralines in chocolate and regular flavours ($24.99).Kind service at the store and the gentleman let us sample as many flavors as they had. Thanks for helping us bring a little sweetness from NOLA to the North!"
