"It is fitting that Keil's is on Royal street, each piece inside is fit for a Queen, or King. If you are after quality antiques to decorate your home with, I highly encourage you to stop in to Keil's. With 4 continuous generations in the business, these are the experts you want to speak with for all things antique. Situated on four levels, one dedicate to French décoré, another dedicated to English, you are sure to find the commode, semainier, chaise ou chandelier you have been searching for to complete you decorating style. Should furniture not be what you're after, don't worry, Keil's has a fabulous and I mean stunning collection of jewels! Emeralds, Rubies, Diamonds and Pearls. Cuffs, bracelets and chandelier earrings to add sparkle to your life. Gents, they even have the most beautiful cuff links I have ever seen. You need them, get 'em!Staff is extremely friendly and patient. My husband and I were allowed time to walk the floor without being hovered over but able to ask questions when curious about certain pieces. No pressure put on us to purchase right away. In fact, the owners are very experienced with shipping nationally and are familiar with other reputable antique businesses. Including one I frequent in California. If you've ever moved in the world of antiques, you definitely want to buy from a shop that knows other top antique owners in the nation! Keil's is definitely going to be my go-to when it comes time to decorate our home. They will definitely be my new favorite place decorate my fingers and ears too!! I love a good statement piece."
"I am super glad we stepped inside this establishment, it is loaded with all kinds of upscale antiques from jewelry to home furnishings and everything in between. Customer service was the best, very patient, funny and knowledgeable. We have been to lots of antique stores and this is def in the top 5. I know that we will def be back here when in NOLA again. I recommend this stop to anyone just looking to kill time and see some awesome relics, to someone who buys, collects or hobby buy, to try this spot out."
"The furniture is beautiful! All handmade and out of recycled cypress (mostly). I've ogled at the pieces for years with lust in my heart. And on Saturday I finally bought one! I am now the proud owner of a gorgeous coffee table. Since it is vintage wood, it isn't "perfect" and that's probably for the best with me around. Bonus that they were having a huge inventory sale so that made my decision that much easier. Plus they do custom work if you have the patience to wait.Store hours are roughly 11-5 (Tuesday through Saturday, I think). But allow a little leeway on either side. Really helpful, friendly staff who are not pushy at all."
"Some nice stuff at this antiques/collectibles store, but a little pricey for my budget. I am by no means an expert thrifter so couldn't say if the prices are justified. They had a nice selection of wooden end tables and vanities, kitchenware, and used shoes and clothes. There were a lot of items on the floor without marked prices, and when I asked about one of them, I was told (very politely) that it wasn't for sale. I'll probably be sticking with the string of thrift stores down St. Claude a few blocks, but if you're looking for nice pieces and have a bit more money to spend, this might be worth a look."
"I was looking for a REALLY specific piece of furniture (and felt like Goldilocks while hunting...this piece is too wide; this one is too short; this one is just right...oops, look at the price). And Dop actually had something that was sort of perfect...except that it was a real antique (they also sell reproductions) and was ebonized wood AND was inlaid with real ivory. So even if I had been tempted (not at that price point), the ivory might have been a deal breaker because it kind of creeps me out. This is a hot warehouse and it's dusty so be prepared. And a staff member was there to help me within moments of entering their space. They have a constantly rotating selection of interesting items. I will be back again."
"My fiancé and I are trying to find an antique or estate engagement ring and have called around the whole Gulf coast Mississippi and New Orleans area to see who has what we're looking for. Most places say they do, but then we get there and find out they have two or three pieces. Anton Limited, however, has tons of estate and antique rings with diamonds and gemstones! The selection was simply amazing! We were nearly overwhelmed with the number of rings they had with diamonds and all different kinds of gemstones and colored diamonds, even in our price range! Their diamond art deco rings were simply amazing. The saleswoman we worked with was extremely helpful and willing to show us ring after ring. They even had rings with rarer stones like alexanderite and black diamonds! We may go with one of the rings they had, but even if we don't, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone!"
"Amazing local arts & crafts & Praline shop that ships nationwide! This adorable little Local Praline shop has the most beautiful red chandeliers all throughout. A must visit. It is stocked to the brim with all the local arts & crafts, t-shirts & NOLA gifts etc,. When we are in NOLA we always stop by & pick up gifts or just have them shipped, especially during the holiday season. Added to my "home for the holidays list" Highest Recommendations."
"12 years later... guess I'll re-review. I got an FtR for this business in 2009 and I'm still going back. If you need architectural salvage this is a must stop. And you may need to return on several occasions to get just what you need. I've purchased a window, hardware, trim and a cabinet from Ricca's over the years. When I bought my house I was probably over there monthly. It can sometimes be a challenge to find someone to assist you but the folks who work there really really know their stuff. Be careful as you wander the back of the store and handle doors/shutters/windows what not. My recommendation for closed toe shoes still stand. And it's mostly a warehouse so don't expect A/C... or heat if it ever stops being hot."
"I found this place on Yelp while researching things to do in New Orleans while we were still just planning on taking a trip, and since the wife and I both love vintage stores this was a must. I am so glad we stopped in because this place has it all and I don't mean the usual stuff you find at your usual vintage store. We were greeted by the owner and she gave Great customer service and took the time to give us some history on New Orleans and some recommendations on what to do and where to visit while in town. The store has lots of clothing/lingerie from the 30's to the 70's in stock when we visited. I think the lingerie from that era is SEXIER than todays lingerie and BETTER quality. Lots of political/military pins. The wife and I seen a kids Dodgers Jersey from the 50's and we def knew we had to pick up for niece who lives in Texas and is pregnant with our soon to be great nephew, because we are going make sure he grows up to be a Dodgers fan wherever he grows up at!! Not much parking but the whole area is walking friendly. Store is kept very clean, and organized. I def recommend this establishment when in the area."
"LOVE LOVE LOVE! My Favorite French Antique shop in the French Quarter. I always have to stop in here every time I visit NOLA. And for Good reason, they always have fab inventory. This last visit, it just happened to be my Birthday & soon as we walked in, Hubby zeroed in on a sparkly blue & green (my favorite colors) tiny French clutch in the shape of a FISH! Now my hubby knows I LOVE everything Aquatic !!! He went straight to the little fish in the glass case, the sales lady from the shop was in hot pursuit, didn't waste any time getting it out for him! :)) The saleslady was very sweet & told us she just got them in. There were some very pretty ones. A silver bunny, a red/black lady bug etc., my zodiac sign is Pisces so it was undeniably a perfect match for moi :)) Elegant, French cocktail clutch, hand made. Exquisite!!! Like everything in this store!!! Beautiful chandeliers, 18th century wardrobes, beautiful French China etc., A antique lovers dream shop. Hubby knows what I like! Score indeed! Him of course & the little fishy :)) I didn't catch the sales lady's name but I want to say thank you for all the information on the wardrobe I am interested in...BTW, You can purchase anything in this store & have it shipped Crate worldwide. "Thank you again for your wonderful "assist" in my lovely Birthday Gift. I absolutely adore it. It's so perfect, completely fabulous." I know I will keep it & enjoy it for many years to come as it is heirloom quality. See you again soon. XOXO Highly recommend."
"I love this store! So many treasures in a small space. You do you have to move carefully, there are a lot of breakables and everything is close together. Sue, the owner, was welcoming and helpful."
"What a fun new spot in Algiers Point! A couple of friends told me about this spot and their Friday night events. And this evening I made it offer. Loved the space! The shop is an interesting mix of architectural salvage, vintage items, and local art. It makes for an eclectic and fun place to browse. Friday nights, they have food trucks and snowballs and open up to the community. This evening there was also an art opening that was really lovely. Great spot for that perfect something for you or for a gift"

Cool spot for things like celebrity autographed posters and photos. Saw autographed photos by Tina Turner, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, etc. Would make great gifts for super fans.

Another high-end shop on Royal Street ... but Moss distinguishes itself with excellent non-judgmental service. Despite being a serious collector of many things, I prefer to antiques shop in my cargo shorts and a T-shirt (especially when its a hundred bajillion degrees in New Orleans), and that didn't faze the people in this shop.Didn't buy anything on this trip, but I've penciled this shop in for a visit on my next trip.

I've stopped by this store at least 5 times during their supposed hours and it's NEVER open. How do they even make money? Sucks because the pictures show looks like they have some cute stuff.

Me and Shari V really like this place. We needed a few things for our dining room and living room. Dop showed up big for us. Most of the antique stores we had visited totally turned me off from antiques. They were well out of our price range and had limited inventory. Dop had a ton of stuff, some of which was in our price range. It's warehouse style so dress like you'll be outside. I wore workout clothes when we were there in August. It got hot. But they have so much good stuff. Some of the items are reproductions. The sales team was upfront about it. Just something to keep in mind. We liked the sales people we worked with. They were nice and helpful without being pushy. We asked and received discounts on the items we purchased. Overall, I strongly recommend Dop. I like this store and I really like the items we've purchased from here.

They have a variety of products in store - food to clothing to souvenirs. I walked in around 3pm or so on a Friday and there were no other customers in the store. I stopped in because I saw the large selection of Pralines they had from the door. Prices were on par with other stores in the area. They have a medium sized selection of NOLA apparel. Some cute long-sleeve tees! Prices were a bit high. I found a small hurricane drink mix that I had seen at other stores in the area. I decided to purchase. The price was on par with what the other stores were selling. There were several other little trinket souvenirs in the back of the store. They have a large selection of Mardi gras beads that have specialty hanging sports medallions. If I recall correctly, they had a sign hanging that said they ship US wide. The store was very clean. And the A/C was blasting! I am a fan.

I don't have a historic house, but I came to look for some historic details I could add to my house and found some cool old mailboxes, fence post toppers, cornices, doors, doorknobs, stained glass windows, etc. If you're interested in architecture and design, it's fun just to browse. The place is huge, and the employees are very helpful.

"I enjoy browsing in this shop and looking at all it has to offer. Although I'm not in the market for any large furniture pieces this shop definitely has thouse and a a bit of everything else too. The owner/worker (?) has always been pleasant and chatty but also leaves you to browse. The store is chock full so be prepared to be careful as you make your way through all the merchandise. Prices seem high for some items and then incredibly reasonable for others. There's usually a discount on the marked price which is a technique I'm not so fond of but I guess that it works.I've purchased christmas ornaments (new stock), small boxes, miniature figurines, used books, and even a solar waving Queen of England. Definitely worth a pass-by for a unique gift or the perfect item for your home."
"I dropped in here after leaving a mad bidding war at the Neal Auction Company over Julia Reed's estate. I found a gorgeous set of 1920's French crystal water and wine glasses much like Reed's but for half the price. Tim was very charming, the kind of charismatic antiquarian that seem to only exist in the South. A little jewel of a store and one of the last of its kind on Magazine street. I will be back!"
"A really cool antique mall. Prices were fair and it had a broad variety of items. Definitely time well spent to visit. The staff was very friendly"
"The best little Vintage jewelry store in the FQ. They have the most amazing collection of vintage jewelry & hard to find collectible's, something for everyone. They have a very good eye. It's always hard to choose here they have so many great things. Hubby buys me a lovely vintage piece of jewelry here almost every year. This is the first place we visit for speciality vintage jewelry & gifts. Will Return."
"Have you heard of Limoge or have you been living under a rock with me? I spotted a little display case featuring some selections in Hotel Monteleone. I later passed by The Brass Monkey and wanted to have a peek inside the store. I had zero clue what Limoges were. I glanced over the shelves rather quickly and once having a more in-depth conversation with the sales associate here I discovered just how interesting and unique they are.If you're a collector or know someone who is, this store has soooo many. I quickly became fascinated in spotting certain very fun designs (lighthouses, golf theme, cakes, coffee and beignets, hamburger, hot air balloon). Really, there's just about anything you can think of. I'm not a big collector of anything much but I can see how this could become an exciting habit. Mind you, they aren't exactly inexpensive- most range from $165-$250ish a piece in this store.Next time I'm in Paris, I'm determined to take a little trip to Limogé and who knows I may just start up a small collection for shits and giggles. If you've never heard of them and aren't a collector but you're in the French Quarter this is an absolutely lovely little store to visit. I have a strong feeling you'll find it fun to admire the craftsmanship of the collection on sale here. Now I feel like I'll always have my eye out for these in certain places, I'll strike gold if I can find someone who like me had no idea what they were."
"Old Arabi Marketplace is FANTASTIC! So many different items - antiques, furniture, art, mirrors, decor, lamps, books, clothes, hats, china, silver, jewelry, memorabilia, lawn & garden furniture and decor - just an endless array of great stuff. There is also an annex one block down because they have so much great stuff! Reasonably priced (and always willing to negotiate) although they have plenty of high-end items, too. Super nice people! It's a great place to explore and shop and the owner, Lynda, will even try and find pieces if you know what you have in mind. Don't miss this place - it's a real gem!"
"We used the Bank to strip some shutters and doors at our old house and they did a great job. I also spent hours one afternoon hunting for a matching doorknob to complete a set (Yes, I have OCD. Why do you ask?)The random vintage salvage stuff that is available is just amazing."
"I thoroughly enjoyed my visit at Merchant House and loved the quirkiness yet very cool ambiance here. This is the place you come to so you can find those one-of-a-kind momentums to give your place a personal touch. Come here if you're looking for those pieces that are conversation starters. I saw so many different eras of furniture and knick knacks which had my heart fluttering with joy. You can also find a few variances of plants and I noticed there was clothing on the top floor! They host a wide variance of local vendors but everything flows together so nicely. This is a great place to explore and perhaps find a new piece that speaks to you personally."
"I can't believe I'm getting the FTR on this shop; it's been here for maybe 20 years. It specializes in French kitchen wares and if you love the provincial style this is the spot for you. The stock is a mix of new items with some antiques. I love the selection of soaps, the hand towels and the dried French lavender. My Mom loves adding to her collection of porcelain king cake "babies." The owner is delightful and the shop is well laid out. Definitely a great shop to find something different on Magazine street."
"Very NOLA - prices were a little higher than expected for essentially shopping in a dusty closet but shit was cool. Glad I checked it out"
"Such a beautiful unique shop with so many different niche objects! This is so well organized and the owner is friendly and helpful. Prices fair as well, $20 went a long way here. I will definitely return on my next visit."
"So we must have looked like quite a pair, dragging our sweaty selves in after hoofing it around Magazine Street for what felt like a decade. In my cargo shorts and T-shirt and guzzling a large jug of water, the proprietor must have thought we were there for some free air conditioning.Bad call, Mr. Proprietor. Yes, we were hot and sweaty. Yes, the air conditioning felt good. And yes, I have money to spend. Yes, I collect antique furniture. And if you had taken the time to even acknowledge me, you might have found out that I've gone so far as to use dendrochronology to authenticate a few of my pieces. Serious collectors come in all shapes and sizes, and it's dangerous to judge people that walk through your door like that. The pieces I saw in our brief walkthrough looked to be good quality, but this shop isn't the only game in town and you can definitely find better service."
"This antique store has some truly incredible pieces and the restorations they perform are very impressive. The owner has connections with artists all over the world, but also stays connected with his own community here on Magazine St. This is my favorite antique store in the area, even though their inventory was relatively low (which the owner told us) -- quality over quantity."
"As I walked down this end of Magazine Street I spotted this new interesting furniture stop in a former warehouse space. AND it has parking out front. AMAZING on this stretch. It's all consignment furniture and the longer it stays, the cheaper it gets....which is clearly marked. By the dates on the furniture, it opened sometime last week. Lots of beautiful chairs and wood furniture including a nice collection of prieu dieu if you need that. I was interested in the many many foo dogs. There were quite a few Asian accessories. Was allowed to browse without interruption but there were staff on hand to answer questions. Nice addition to this end of Magazine."
"Adorable gift/home decor shop featuring a wonderfully eclectic array of items. From antiques to chic Nola themed and inspired purses that the shop owner has designed, this little gem shouldn't be missed. Stop in and wander through the three rooms filled with vintage costume jewelry, home decor items, gift card and fun accessories. There are some substantive furniture pieces and a few lovely articles of clothing. Gift cards, whimsy, China, great home accents and more."
"Lots of cool sculptures and jewelry. I had fun taking pics after asking the proprietor if it was okay."
"This store is absolute perfect. The owner does such a wonderful job curating the most interesting and beautiful pieces. On top of a great selection, prices are really fair. I'm glad I don't currently live closer, or I'd probably spend all of my money here. Definitely don't miss this shop. And say hi to the owner while there. He's super friendly and knowledgeable about the items in store. (Added pictures of a couple of things I got on my last trip.)"
"A stunning array of vintage/antique furniture, pillows, knick knacks and art! I just stopped in for the first time yesterday to see if there might possibly be a couch that I adored and could afford (a rare thing, unfortunately. Damn my expensive taste!) I thought I'd just take a minute while my friend (wo)manned the Uhaul but of course I found myself lost in the loveliness. I set my eyes on my new couch immediately and was amazed by the price tag. Still, I couldn't help myself but keep looking around, taking in all the fabulosity. I wish I knew more about antiques so I could tell you that yes, they have Queen Anne chairs (this much, I know), but I could also tell you about the carved wooden bed, or the elaborate fainting couch or the rose velvet lounge that I plan on going back and getting if it's still there (they do layaway, if you don't want to take the risk). The best part? Turns out the couch I had picked due to its almost perfect condition was also on sale for 20% off! Staff is incredibly nice and helpful, too. Looking forward to returning and updating this review!"
"I have been following this store on various social media sites and have wanted to come. It is just as amazing as I anticipated and I look forward to ordering online in the future from Dark Matter Oddities. Friendly employees working, a lot of specimens and reasonable prices."
"Just when I thought I'd hit all the funky, unique, eclectic home furnishing stores in NOLA, Floor 13 hit my radar. Such a fun shopping experience. Loaded with everything from one-of-a-kind pieces, to hundreds of the same thing (from the Ritz-Carlton, perhaps), some of which is waiting for a paint job to make it one-of-a-kind. Lamps, artwork, rugs, desks, chairs, couches, tables, beds, nightstands, knickknacks, pillows, taxidermy pieces & more. Reasonably priced. Clean and well organized. Super friendly service.Planned to stop by for a few minutes to look for something specific. Left hours later with a few other things."
"Amazing store! Owner is so knowledgeable and has a great curated selection. Never had so much fun trying on clothes before. I got a gorgeous 1970s gown that I wore to a friend's wedding the same day. It was perfect and I got so many compliments on it. So glad I came here and found an amazing dress."
"Home decor galore! This would be the first place I would stop if I had one of those trendy Garden District shotguns and I had the money to decorate it however I wanted. All of the items here seem to be vintage inspired, and that's right up my alley. I love the bright colors and I love that the first room you see when you walk in is decorated to look like a cozy living room- it really gives you an idea of what YOUR space could look like.My favorites were the gorgeous antique chairs that were finished with beautiful pops of color. They also have smaller items, just in case you don't have the nerve to pull the trigger on a large piece of furniture. The woman working was very friendly and I liked that there was a lot packed into the space."
"This is such a great shop. It's in a perfect area and has something for everyone here. They had old furs to fine art and china here. It's a quaint shop with always changing items for sale."
