Buster's Place

I am a fan of Buster. I find that their food is good although the softshell crabs are an exception don't get that.I used to go for the oysters. And they've been good and they've been a decent size but the last time we went it was Wednesday was anybody there before 5 o'clock shut down order couple dozen. Oysters oysters and they were pitifully small.That's unusual for this time of year but what happens is the guy shocking the day was taking all the decent size oysters and putting them aside for charbroil you can see about 20 trays of raw oysters stacked up and they were all nice size so basically we got ripped off in my opinion. Next time I go there I'm gonna tell him either give me some decent size oysters or I'm not getting them.Oh another thing horseradish is terrible totally dead no heat or taste whatsoever. I need to buy decent horseradish we can do it. I've been a restaurant that good stuff.

We are ordered on uber eats. The packaging was good. I ordered the fried chicken salad. The lettuce was brown and hard. The croutons were very salty. The fried chicken was horrible with the batter the used. The oyster platter came with five oysters. I would not recommend this place . The bread pudding was dried out.

My family and I Stopped at Busters Place while on a Road Trip. I searched on Yelp for "Best Restaurant" in Covington, LA, and Busters came up as one of the top options. I chose Busters because, through the pictures, I could tell they had a live atmosphere. Busters is located on Boston Street; I did not notice a restaurant parking lot or immediate street parking but parked a couple of blocks away and walked to Busters Oyster Bar. It was nice to walk because this is a beautiful historic area, and it was nicely lit up with Christmas lights. Once at the restaurant, the atmosphere did not disappoint; we experienced outstanding customer service. The food was delicious and served promptly. Busters Oysters Bar cocktails were potent. For dinner, I ordered the Pontchartrain Red Fish blackened, and I was delighted. For dessert, I ordered the gourmet turtle cheesecake, and it was terrific. We had a great time. Busters Oyster Bar is great for groups.We are looking forward to coming back.

Great food. Great folks. I love grabbing a hot shrimp sandwich at this place. A great Covington asset.

The wife and I dropped in at Busters on a Thursday evening and there was a crowd for their special oyster night. Atmosphere was lively and loud and the wait staff was friendly and welcoming. Perhaps we should have had the oysters, but didn't; settled instead for local brews, the Buster Burger, and half a hot sausage po'boy, with baked potatoes as sides. Fried pickles was the appetizer. I was a little surprised that the hot sausage were ground patties, rather than the traditional link type (andouille, etc.), but it was nicely seasoned. My spouse said the Buster Burger was very good. Unfortunately, our baked potatoes were only half done and rock hard. The pickles were pretty bland.Busters looks like a good casual place to go with friends for brews, or to take in a game. We will return for the steak special on Saturday night, or to try some of the more traditional Louisiana favorites on the menu, and the oysters!

Don't trust just anybody with the reviews!Wanted to go there. I haven't been getting out much. I'm ready now. Ambience, it's an oyster bar!Service, most excellent sad at the bar, Kaci was most excellent! Ordered & served my food, served my scotch and held conversation while she was taking care of everybody else at the bar !Just happen to sit next to Buster, oh yeah, he doesn't just on the place. He works at as well.Let's don't forget the food I'm giving Buster's's place a five star I had oysters two dozen. That's what I went there, for. I also tasted the jambalaya the corn fritters are to die for and the softshell crab most excellent!I plan to be a regular at Buster's's place. Maybe I'll see you there :-)

Best burger in town.Gumbo, potato salad.Fried seafood!Great place to go in the afternoon for a beer or 2...The bar is a great place to sit and watch everything going on

Though I now live in Houston, I've been coming to Buster's Place for several years and have never had a bad experience. Every time I visit home, it's one of my "must-go" places. Back in the day, I would order the shrimp poboy and bisque dinner combo - then I had to cut gluten for medical reasons. I now get the grilled shrimp platter, and they'll easily substitute a baked potato or steamed veggies for fries (though I usually risk cross-contamination because their fries are GOOD). When we came in Saturday evening, there was a brief wait until we were seated. Every TV had an NFL game on, and it was quite lively. I ordered my usual - the grilled shrimp, and my dad had the tuna with a baked potato. I don't know what they season their shrimp with, but they were absolutely perfect. He's commented on how good his tuna and potato were a few times. Service has consistently been phenomenal, and the food is consistently fresh and hot. I love getting a table by the window to watch downtown Covington, but if you're coming in on the weekend, good luck. It's busy (for a good reason), and there will probably be a wait. On Saturdays, they run an $18.99 dinner special with grilled redfish, steak, or prime rib paired with steamed veggies and a salad. We didn't notice the sign until after we ate - otherwise, we would have taken advantage of it.When I got married, we recommended Buster's to family and friends who came in town for our wedding. My MIL said it was the best seafood she had, and she's dying to come back.

Such good bar food! I wish I had taken photos of my burger. I had the whole dat and it was cooked just as I asked with a tasty char. I subbed out sweet potato fries and was not disappointed. Good service. Kids' meals were well sized and they enjoyed them very much. All around a good quick dinner when you don't want to cook and want something tasty and close by.

Buster's offers a variety of town favorites menu items. Because of the friendly and family atmosphere, whenever my family comes to town Buster's is one of the main events. They have never been disappointed. In fact, Buster's is one of my favorite weekly dinner spots. The food is always great and freshly prepared. Needless to say, I'M A BUSTER'S FOODIE! Keep up the good work!
