I've visited this spot every year for the last 7 years for the Christmas Eve bonfires. They serve food (chili, mac & cheese, chips, jambalaya) and have a live band with a cover for the night's festivities. It's always a comfortable temperature, depending on the weather outside and is a nice escape from the traffic and folks outside. Great spot to grab a cheap beer or mixed drink before heading out to the bonefires. Bathrooms aren't big, but they're clean! Definitely a dive bar - definitely a smoky bar.

I stopped in here this afternoon while I was scouting out the area, trying to figure out the best way to see the Christmas Eve bonfires on the levee. It was formerly known as Do-do's, but the name is now Bulldog's Corner. Right on River Road, it is prime real estate for the bonfires. I had a $2 bottle of Bud, but they also have a full bar. There was a friendly bunch at the bar who dispensed lots of helpful advice. They have a large parking lot next door, and will be serving food and putting on a party on Christmas Eve. Yep, I'm in.

Dive Bar on River Road. You'd pass it and never notice it. That is until now because I am THE FIRST TO REVIEW - DO-DO's.Smokey, dirty and down home.Order a worm bucket. Dance with the owner. Play some pool.Get out of the big city.My grandpaw worked here as a kid because it's just down the street from where he grew up. And until college, he never left a 3 mile radius of Paulina, LA. This place will always have the regulars in their regular seats at the bar. But on Christmas Eve, this is the place to be. The bonfires are lit on the levee, and if you forget your ice chest or you run out of Bud Light, you are going to have to cross the River Road and stumble your way to Do-Dos.

Now I'm the second. It's a real shit hole and I love it. I'll take a dive bar over a nice club any day.
