Laborie's has always been the local chain grocery store on the Westbank - like Rouse's, but with less high-end products and less selection. A few months ago they renamed it Budget Saver, but it seems to have mostly the same stuff. The odd thing about Budget Saver is that the prices on the shelf reflects the store's cost. When you check out, they add 10% to your total, as the idea is that everything is sold at Cost + 10%.The end result is that most of the prices for dry goods are about on par with Walmart, or just slightly higher. For most items it is cheaper than Winn Dixie, which makes me happy. I typically only come here to stock up on fruit and vegetables, as they do carry fresh produce at a reasonable price.I still prefer Rouse's for my big shopping trips to stock up on whole wheat pasta, random spices/sauces, and other things that can't be found at Budget Saver - but for a quick trip for must-have dinner items, Budget Saver is good. They also have a decent bakery section and a deli with some hot food items, but I have yet to try any of that stuff.

Excellent beer and wine selection. Nowhere as good As Rouses in Algiers but best in Marrero.Has same fat , soft French bread as the sister store further down Barataria. Labories. There is a feature that makes this a little different, they sometimes sell closeout items in bulk, like energy drinks, 2 for .88 or a box 'o corn dogs. You can order keg beer here too, but its not as smooth a transaction as Rouses.Lotsa open cashiers available everytime I come. Also has a growing Latin section....can you say JUMEX? I knew that you could.

My mother loves to come here, but I'm hoping she'll change her mind after the roast she purchased last week shrink by almost 1/2, and was tough as show leather.Sub-standard meat. If I wanted that, I'd eat in a school cafeteria or Subway.

It's very easy to get buy happy in this store. The prices seem so good until you really start to think about it. The other day, disgusted by Rouse's selling skirt-steak for ribeye prices, I went here for my meat. Then I looked at "their price" which was about 25 cents lower than the price at Rouse's. Then I added the 10% mark-up and then the almost 10% tax and it came out a crap-load more expensive than rouse's..So that's not good.

I've been to this grocery store a few times, when I have been in the area. I have always found items here well priced and I like how they actually have a bunch of lines open at once, in order to get people in and out. I have never had to wait in a super long line here, which is awesome when you are in a rush.

Probably the worst place to go for Quality products and service from what Iv seen all this place is worried about is money more than their employees I've seen many people being forced to go get shopping carts in the rain by their managers with it lightning here also I will never go to a place that doesn't respect their employees

The store typically has a great selection of everything, and it's priced very reasonable, without having to sign up for a "Club Card". Also, every aisle has a quick view list which shows where the most commonly purchased items are. But what is most important, are the employees who are very willing to help the customer out.

As a Westbanker, Budget Saver is my local grocery store. This is where I get most of my grocery needs. Their prices are reasonable for me. There produce are fresh. And so is their meat. The non-perishable items, depending on the sale for the week, I can get great deals on. The deli and bakery section is always the best deals. Their french bread is soft. Their cakes and pastries always win in my parties. They also cater. I haven't found another place more reasonable than their deli. I have shopped around. I have also called it in which saved me a lot of time racing to Barataria. I have moved as far as Tylertown, MS and Franklinton, LA. I am now closer to the airport. No matter where I have gone, I have always shopped at Budget Saver in Marrero.

GREAT local grocery. The produce I find better than WalMart and everyone in the store is helpful. The meat department is very good. I love the stuffed chicken, pork chops and the steaks. I have never been unhappy with I have bought there. The deli department is GREAT! The lunch meat is always good and I order the mini muffalatas and fnger sandwiches all the time for parties.
