Brunch Fest

All in all, Brunch Fest 1.0 was a success. I was smart and got there early, thus I was able to grab some food and drinks with zero problems. I got a yummy pulled pork and grits dish from the Velvet Cactus booth. As the day went on, the crowd increased and lines became insane. This is understandable- it's the first year and a lot of places didn't have their bloodys pre-mixed.I loved the band and I liked that there were a lot of different food and drink vendors. I almost adopted a dog- I really had to fight the urge. I can see Brunch Fest becoming an annual thing, which is fantastic. Bloody Mary's, mimosas and yummy food- it's hard to go wrong. Next year I will be early again and I will be sure to bring a blanket for sitting.

Let's just say that if dog heaven is real....my dog thought she died on Sunday!! Talk about crowded with parents and fur babies! My pup may have had more fun than me!! Bring your cash cause you are gonna want to eat and drink till they kick you out! Don't get caught in the ATM line....you will miss out on everything!Free admission is always a plus!!!Food and drink lines were crazy long which interfered with the logistics of the fest. Prices were reasonable! Next year they are sure to have a larger venue, more food, more drinks, as to handle the crowd. May I suggest different lines for beverages with some sort of separator, i.e. Jazz fest food lines with barricades?I did stand in line for a waffle from Dirty Dishes that was cooked to order and doused in a praline sauce....it was divine! The mimosas helped with the wait time too! I would have tried more, but the lines, people, the lines!!! My pup didn't mind a bit, though! The entire time I was there, I was thinking....next year is gonna be amazing! The demand is definitely there! I love that the adoptable pets were there to find forever homes! Such a great cause and a great alternative to your Sunday Brunch in NOLA! Can't wait till exit year!
