Brown Derby

This place is now called Keys Back on Avenue. Still same bargain for hot food from the convenience store. The store is kinda small and tight to navigate, but that's a convenience store, so that's what I would expect. I came here because my godmother told me that they sell 100 fried party wings for $40. The wings came up to $43 after taxes, $45 if you pay with a card (hard eye roll!). You have to pay at the counter before they make the wings, and they are ready in about 15 or 20 minutes. They were a beautiful, golden brown color, but sadly, they were just alright. I'm giving it 3 stars based on the speed and cost. The chicken wasn't fried hard enough for my taste. But still just okay wings. They also have hot wings and bbq wings. No one had seemed to have tried the bbq wings, so I wasn't going to be the first to do so.

The Brown Derby is a fantastic neighborhood convenience store with a great breakfast hot bar (although not much vegan... we can hold out hope they will add some dairy free butter potatoes and vegan grits!). They have a huge drink selection and the staff is always super friendly here! I've even gotten a few winning lotto tickies from here!

The brown derby, nestled at the edge of the Milan neighborhood, is right at the gateway between the stairs to nowhere and central city. They are a small establishment but have pretty much everything you are looking for: tall boys (even high gravity ones!) and fried chicken. It's the perfect solution for:-those from the mortuary across the street who have lost a loved one-those at the dentist next door who have found a cavityThey looked like they had other things too.

This is a must visit hole in the wall great beans and rice awesome chicken bring your appetite and enjoy local flavor
