If you doubt brakes for less please read! Just had an awesome experience from Brakes for less! With any service I always do my research and may even contact people to inquire who was serviced in the past. I noticed how the owners really gave attention to every review and although every one can not be pleased and most are upset because let's face it our vehicles need repair when we least expect or can afford the repair. Story, dealership and shockingly Firestone stated I needed almost $1,400 worth of brake work. Well a friend told me about brakes for less and I decided to give them a try. I'M SO HAPPY I CAME HERE!! Service was great and front manager Ray was awesome! Ray was honest very accommodating and appeared to be a trustworthy guy who stated the facts. He was very communicative with providing updates and he follows through. I felt 'safe' leaving my vehicle over night for a part to be delivered. The over head is low and the savings are passed down. I'm thoroughly happy I took my BMW X5 here at brakes for less and I'm very picky and a car enthusiast so I can smell unprofessional / non reliable shops a mile away.I'll be back and I'm comfortable with sharing their service with friends, family and associates. Thanks Ray for the awesome service! Sorry I was long winded but I'm so satisfied with service and price!! TJ

BAIT AND SWITCH TECHNIQUES USED HERE! BEWARE!I came here with the intention of getting an oil change with a special offer for a $14.99 synthetic blend oil change. I left extremely unhappy.I was told halfway thru that my car requires either 0w20 or 5w20, he said that the 0w20 was gonna cost $49, I said no, give me the 5w20, thinking it would be at the $14.99 price. When the oil change was finished, I was told my final bill was $58. I questioned why, the guy said that the 5w20 was $7 per quart, plus extra cost for shop supplies, labor, and oil disposal, then of course sales tax. I asked him what oil is included in the $14.99 change, he said 5w30 was included and that the 5w20 is what my car called for. He was not upfront about the price, basically saying that he thought I understood what he meant about the price when he spoke to me mid-change. I felt like I couldn't do much arguing being that the oil change was done and I couldn't just walk out without paying the full price. I went ahead and paid, but I will NEVER return here. I can pay less at Take 5 and get done quicker, I only came here to try to save some money, and I ended up spending more. SCAM ARTIST at its finest. The waiting area is top notch with WiFi, digital cable, and many places to sit, and normally this would cause me to bump the rating up an extra star, but I am so upset by the bait and switch technique used that I cannot in good faith give more than 1 star.I'm wondering if that nice customer waiting area is meant to soften customers up before they get their final bill. I fell for it hook, line, and sinker. NEVER AGAIN.

In matter of minutes they diagnosed the problem and had me back on road in no time with ice cold A/C. They are very friendly from the office to the mechanics with great customer service. Just had my brakes worked on and was very impressed with the service I received. I just found my go to mechanic for all my vehicles. Ray is great to work with. I found them to be honest and upfront with me about the repairs needed/recommended. The prices are reasonable and I would recommend them to all. Thanks Rachel and Larry. Make sure you get your credit card reader replaced. I'll be using it a lot more in the future.

If you're broke and don't know anything about cars, coming here is better than nothing because it is cheaper than the dealer. But I know a little about cars and I'm not coming here again. Super long story short, dealer told me I needed brake pads and wanted $150. So I shopped around. Brake pads at the automotive store were about $50. I found brakes for less and they said they would do it for $75. I thought, $25 so I don't have to get my hands dirty or sweat in the heat was a fair deal. When they finished I was charged $89. Some added crap fees. Not only that. My gas mileage went to hell after this. I didn't hear the light grinding noise initially because my music is always on pretty loud, but the drop in gas mileage was a signal. Turned the music off when I noticed and heard the sound. The brakes were sticking, but could have been bad rotors or broken hub... So I had to take them apart and inspect myself. Turns out it was just a half fast brake job they did. They didn't clean the brake dust or regrease the pins, shims, or back of pads. All the friction didn't allow the brakes to release and it was the pads burning the entire time I was driving. That was the grinding I heard. I cleaned it and regreased everything. Badabing badabiom, fixed. Sound gone, mileage back to normal, car driving smoothly again. I was charged more than quoted and I had to get dirty and sweaty anyway??? I was not happy. The kicker for me is I gave them a second chance. Bad days can happen to everyone right? Well second time, I bought a used toy that was 20 years old and asked for a oil change so they could do some basic inspection. I even bought the $89 synthetic oil change that you can do by yourself for $27 when buying the oil and filter from Autozone. They said everything looked fine. I inspected the car afterwards and I was disappointed in their analysis. At the mileage it was sitting at, it needed lots of basic maintenance. Timing belt needed to be changed, water pump, coolant flush, thermostat, throttle body cleaning, brake fluid flush, transmission flush, differential fluid, grease in the wheel joints and drive shaft, spark plug change, drive belt needed tightening and change, air filter, air in tires... I will Never be coming here again. You want something done right, do it yourself!

Stopped in due to brake fluid leaking on drivers side back wheel, next thing I am given an estimate of $1,600. All or nothing, they would not just repair the leak and let me come back for other repairs so I left. The shop I took my truck did the same repairs he quoted me for $667. Avoid this shop at all costs.

They serviced my '99 Civic Si twice. On one occasion I felt they were trying to over charge me not expecting a girl to know a thing about cars. They were very quick and did accommodate me since I don' get off of work until after their closing time. I felt the service was good. The second time I was sure the engine was going and asked for a compression test. It was confirmed but the price they wanted to charge for a rebuild was ridiculous! I had it towed to Baton Rouge and repaired for less than bring the car to them. I would suggest them since I believe the work to be sound. I am just very particular about my car!

Went in for new brake pads, prepared for changing all four of them since it was five years old and never changed them. Larry checked them out and reported that only my front brake pads needed to be changed, the back were still good as new. The owners and staff as I can tell are very sincere working folks, very friendly, and thank them for giving me an honest assessment of what my Honda needed. The price was less than what other places wanted for a brake change and they were recommended to me by others. I was happy to make the 30 minute drive to go out there from Luling to Kenner. It was such a great experience for me as well, that I highly recommend them to anyone who needs car or truck care!
