Bourbon House

Stopped by Bourbon House on my trip to New Orleans and overall it was a solid experience. The atmosphere was like an upscale ice cream parlar/ fine dining if that makes sense. Anyways, I had the blue crab claws and oysters, which were both fresh and flavorful. It was my first time trying charbroiled oysters and they were pretty good, though my cousin insists Drago's does them better.The gumbo was delicious with a nice depth of flavor, and the Harvest Salad was a fresh and lighter option to balance things out. Prices weren't outrageous, which was a pleasant surprise.For dessert, we had the apple bread pudding à la mode, and it was the perfect sweet ending warm, rich, and comforting.Big shoutout to Don, our server, who was friendly and attentive throughout the meal.Would definitely recommend Bourbon House for a good seafood experience in the French Quarter.Would I go back? Yes!

Don't go by the reviews..the positive ones are waaaaaay inflated! The blackened fish and rice tasted hospital cafeteria (tbf depends on hospital) but you catch my drift. It was $35 for entree. And looked like it tasted. Service was sub par. It was like a below average diner experience and marketed like a fine restaurant. Don't go here..it was a hotel restaurant and we just didn't know having walked in from another entrance. My husband got the po boy and fries. Worse than fast food place...

I really wanted to love this place. The atmosphere is nice. I'm a prime location. Big beautiful bay windows. The charred oysters were just meh. Nothing to write home about. We have had much better ones in other establishments here in Nola. Dinner was better. Shrimp and grits and thy fried catfish were good. Would order again but I don't plan on returning here. Dessert was bread pudding and it was boring.The waitress was nice. 2.5/5 stars. Go elsewhere like dragos, or Seaworthy whose charred oysters were amazing and the bread pudding in bourbon sauce at dragos knocks your socks off

The location is amazing right on bourbon street in a neighborhood with Felix and Acme Oyster bars. We were expecting amazing food to stand toe to toe with them. We were so disappointed. We were seated right away given our reservation. We ordered the char broiled oysters which came out right away before our drink order. It turned out the bar was short a tender. I was through most of the oysters and stopped cuz I wanted to do them together. They were fabulous . Large and buttery and garlicky. About 10 minutes later the drinks came out. Server was very apologetic. So no complaint with service.We ordered the shrimp in honey bourbon sauce and the fried catfish. I ordered a BLT cobb to share and the fried oyster platter. The shrimp appetizer included 4 small shrimp on a large airy bread. the sauce was amazing. The shrimp were okay. The salad was barely dressed with head lettuce. a generous amount of bacon and egg and 3 cherry tomatoes. No flavor from the dressing or the lettuce. A total waste of $11. The fried catfish portion was less than you get in fish and chips. They had no flavor. just a plain season-free batter and tiny fish parts. No fillet on a bed of regular fries with no seasoning. The whole food experience other than the charbroiled oysters was there was no one in the kitchen that cared about the food other than to get it on the plate.

In town for a conference and this place was in walking distance.For a NOLA restaurant it was just ok.Smoked shrimp and crab boudin balls had a weird taste. I didn't eat but one The fried shrimp was seasoned well but the fish wasn't The Brussels were some of the best I have had Pork belly was good Coleslaw was blandIt tasted very commercial and not local LouisianaIt wasn't bad but I don't have to go again.The server V was amazing

I gave this place two stars for two reasons: Leslie our server and Vusi the house manager. They deserve 5 stars.Otherwise I'd give no stars!The atmosphere is nice. The food was trash. I ordered a pimento burger medium well it was so overcooked and dry beyond well done. The pimento was barely there, disgusting. I think it cost me about $30. I ended up going to Shake shack when I got back to my hotel. The house manager Alex was very rude extremely rude. I will never return here because of him.The best thing on the menu is the bourbon.

I had high hopes for this spot but was a little disappointed. It was a slow Tuesday so I'd hoped for better. I sat at the bar and was ignored for a some time. The guy shucking oysters finally gave me a menu.I had to wait again to get an order in it was still the oyster guy. I ordered the redfish and was pleasantly surprised. The fish was cooked perfectly and was delicate and tasty. The butter sauce was a great compliment. The carmelized onions seemed to be odd part on the plate.If I'm back in town I'll give it another shot.

This is my second time at Bourbon House over the last few years. Decor was nice and exactly how I remembered it. We started with the Smoked Shrimp and Crab Boudin Balls. Expensive for 3 small boudin balls, but they were tasty.Entree included the blackened fish on a bed of rice and shrimp, which does not appear to be on the menu anymore unfortunately. Frozen bourbon milk punch was delicious and had a good amount of bourbon in it. I remember they offered a chocolate cookie with this, but it must've been an option they got rid of over the years.Overall, food and ambiance were good, but not a restaurant I would make my way out to revisit a third time.

While looking for a place to eat on Bourbon Street, we came across Bourbon House which had some seating in the bar area near the hotel lobby. We had to wait a bit to get the waiter to clear the table for us to sit but finally got to sit down and get some drinks. I had the Magazine drink which was good and ended up ordering the Bourbon Shrimp & Grits for dinner (made gluten free). I liked it. Service could have been a little faster but overall I enjoyed the food and drinks. The restaurant atmosphere definitely would've been better compared to the bar so plan in advance.

Delicious crab app and cocktails!!! Would definitely recommend and would come back for a full meal
