I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience at Boswell's Jamaican Grill in New Orleans, a hidden gem that has become my go-to spot for delicious and authentic Jamaican cuisine. As a vegetarian, I was a bit skeptical about trying a Caribbean restaurant, but I was blown away by the variety of options and the quality of the food. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming staff, who were happy to answer all my questions about the menu and make recommendations. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, with a lively vibe that's perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic dinner. The menu at Boswell's Jamaican Grill is a love letter to Jamaican cuisine, with a wide variety of options that cater to all tastes and dietary needs. As a vegetarian, I was impressed by the number of options available, including delicious vegetable patties, flavorful curries, and hearty stews.I opted for the vegetable patty, which was served with a side of rice and peas and a delicious mango salsa. The patty was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a flavorful blend of spices that was both aromatic and delicious. The rice and peas were perfectly cooked, and the mango salsa added a sweet and tangy touch to the dish.I was also impressed by the portion sizes, which were generous and filling without being overwhelming. The prices were also very reasonable, making Boswell's Jamaican Grill a great value for the quality and quantity of food you receive. What truly sets Boswell's Jamaican Grill apart, however, is its commitment to serving authentic and delicious Jamaican cuisine that is also respectful of vegetarian dietary restrictions. The owners are clearly passionate about their cuisine and their community, and it shows in every aspect of the restaurant.I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail and the care that the staff took in preparing my meal. They were happy to answer all my questions and make recommendations, and they even offered to modify the dish to suit my dietary needs.Overall, I would highly recommend Boswell's Jamaican Grill to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Jamaican meal in New Orleans. The restaurant is a true gem, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, and a commitment to serving high-quality cuisine that is respectful of all dietary needs.Rating Breakdown:Service: 5/5Food: 5/5Ambiance: 5/5Value: 5/5Overall: 5/5Recommendation:If you're looking for a delicious and authentic Jamaican meal in New Orleans, look no further than Boswell's Jamaican Grill. With its warm atmosphere, expertly prepared food, and commitment to serving high-quality cuisine that is respectful of all dietary needs, this restaurant is a true gem in the city. Be sure to try the vegetable patty and don't be afraid to ask for recommendations - the staff are happy to help.

It wasnt the worst and I'd try it again. I got the oxtail with broad beans and I promise you I didn't see the beans. The oxtails were good but I didn't have many for the price.I really enjoyed the rice and peas and also the mac. But for the oxtails to be the main star they just lacked. I would try this place again for sure maybe for dine in. The service was very quick I got takeout and it didn't take long at all to deliver. I cannot speak on the ambiance but overall 3/5 but I would try it again.

Boswell's is always a hit, never a miss. I had the BBQ jerk chicken. It was saucy and oh so good. Mac and cheese was flavorful as well. Service was courteous and warm. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

Best Jamaican restaurant in the city! I enjoyed their jerk chicken, mac & cheese, and callaloo. Everything was flavorful and came out pretty quick. Tried the ginger beer too (it bites back lol). The service was great and the dine-in area had a nice vibe. I would definitely recommend! Can't wait to go back and taste their oxtails.

Today I am disappointed. Two plates was $64. As someone who has been eating here for years, i've has better days. My brown stew chicken was dry and hard... it honestly seemed as though they had taken jerk chicken and threw it in some sauce. It was spicier and drier than ever(because it was the other day's jerk)... personally, i feel i overpaid for the quality and amount of what i got. It was no more than a $15 plate at best. Minus the leftover jerk vibes. The rice is dry, they need to add more stew juice if the rice isn't moist.

I often come from the Northshore to come to this restaurant once I take care of my business in the area. When I usually come to this restaurant it always seems to be the longest wait with nobody waiting. The food is really good but the service is really bad. Often times, the wait staff of preoccupied with conversations, in the kitchen, or watching television in the dining area. I would give this restaurant a high rating but the quality of service received here needs to improve. Seems like every time I've come the wait has gotten much longer than the previous visit. I encourage you if you want some good Jamaican food that is reasonably priced and have a very long time to sit and wait for the spot for you.

The food was hot and came out in less thank 5 minutes for my to go order. The negative...broth/gravy from my order was spilled all in the bottom of my bag, I asked for vegetables but got cabbage instead, my oxtails w/ peas has one literal pea in it, and the oxtails lacked flavor. The music playing fit the vibe well. I usually do another Jamaican grill up the street but wanted to try here but unfortunately...I won't be back.
